- We just did the Nevis swing in Queenstown, New Zealand for Mike’s 40th Birthday.
Mike was on edge all morning whilst Joelle was quite relaxed. That all changed during the free fall though where Joelle freaked and Mike was smiling!

All I could think of was it's not the falling (for me), but how hair raising it would be to stand on the edge/sit on the swing, and be hauled backwards to the starting point. I used to work at a high ropes course in The San Bernardino Mountains here in California that had a zip line of about 150 feet that all of the staff would have fun doing in complete darkness while the campers were having dinner to help us bring up our adrenaline more because we had gotten so used to it because of working there and doing it a lot after work.
We also had a giant swing that we didn't use too often because of the extra charge for it's use for campers and those who were there on work retreats.
But I was fortunate to be able to do it once, it causes you to be swung into the air about 50 feet high in both directions.
I now want to go on the tree top to tree top zip lines I have heard go for 1,000 feet in Hawaii.
I am glad you were both able to have this unique and fun experience for one of your birthdays.
