Hi! I was wondering if you where interested in viewing my island! It’s a neighborhood core! (neighborhood with other stuff.) it is also in development. So if you want to see it now or later you can say. If you are interested please let me know! I’m sorry I can’t send it through the form, forgot my password (I can’t log into the site without my password). But I can tell you the dream address if you want! :) my island name is Honey Bay! Please respond to this comment if you are interested :)
Thank you sooo very much Katie for touring my island and for all your incredibly sweet compliments. I really LOVED your tour and I am so glad you enjoyed your visit. You are amazing! ❤❤
Omg okay, out of all the ones I’ve seen you do so far, this one is by far my fave! And I never thought I’d say that about a snowy island. SO perfectly done!!!!!!
This island was so creative! I love winter themed islands, especially since they’re rarely done and rarely done well. And I love that the villager homes actually have a kitchen, bed, bathroom and still room to walk! I struggle with using space that effectively
Oh, what a cool island! I've been meaning to put a ski resort area on my island... super inspiring to see a whole island with this theme!! I happen to be a skiing instructor, actually - and the biggest piece of advice I have for you is to not start with skis that are the length people will recommend to you when you borrow them in a shop - it's easier as a beginner with /shorter/ skis than you would use if you were at an intermediate level! So if you can, get a pair that the person at the shop would consider a bit too short for your height! As for physical/weight distribution things - the main motion in skiing comes from your knees/thighs. Your basic position should be crouched slightly, with your weight leaning forward rather than backward! (If your position is right, it'll feel really strange at first, like you're leaning forward way too much.) In general, I recommend staying in the beginner area until you feel truly confident - the risk of serious injury goes up so fast if you're on a slope you can't quite handle. It's better to stay in an easier area and feel almost "bored" before you switch to steeper slopes! Also, make sure that, more vitally than anything else, you know how to STOP. I recommend the "parallel" stop position much more highly than the "pizza slice" one where you make your ski tips touch - it's more stable to just swing around as if you were going into a turn, and keep turning as if you were trying to uphill - let the slope do your stopping for you! Once you've practiced it a little, you execute this turn so fast that it stops you right where you are. I hope this helps (though admittedly the season is almost over for this year hahaha) and isn't too confusing - these things are easier to explain when you can demonstrate them :'D
Now this is definitely inspiring. Using the villager houses to expand the theme and that ski lift! Wonderfully done. Especially as I have never done a winter theme...yet, and not entirely sure if I ever will considering how much I like green nature. But I certainly enjoy looking at the islands of those who do
If you're just learning how to ski Katie, I recommend you sign up for a couple of lessons (not group) with an individual instructor. I'm a lifetime skier and the lessons I took at the very beginning made all the difference. They'll teach you what you need about balance, weight distribution, etc. and you'll get the basics down quickly so you can get out there and enjoy the slopes. Have fun!
I tried doing a winter ski lodge and finally gave up. THIS is what I had pictured in my head. This island is so gorgeously executed. I am in love with it.
ive always kept my villagers home true to their original designs with a few adjustments, but after seeing this i am totally going to make them functional and aesthetic. I LOVE this island so much!
Im a ski instructor! Essentially you want your weight to move down your body and end up in the middle of your foot (not on your toes or ankles). The parts of your body you want to engage are your hips, knees and ankles, keeping your upper body separated and using your poles to get into a rhythm in your turns. When you get more advanced keeping your chest pointed down hill for balance and using your lower body to turn ! Keep up the practice because you will get into the swing of it 😊
Some Shania?! Yes girl! 👏🏼👏🏼😆 This is one of my favorite islands you have toured! I’m 31 and going to be learning Snowboarding next winter. So excited!
Woooowwwee. As a skier I can say this is 10/10. The ski lifts even have the rollers at the top of the pylons! .possibly the only islands I've seen with houses decorated too, and the little ice sculpture and carver combo is just 👏 love this island. Thanks for another chilled, thorough island tour Katie - perfect all round!
This is the same theme I’m working on!! I just finished my ski lift too lol. Mine is more based around Switzerland, so I have a snowy mountain part and a summer Swiss village part :) perfect timing for this, it gave me so many ideas!
I love seeing these because I don’t like the winter season and have 0 creative thinking for how to decorate in winter so it’s cool to see how others make it look amazing
this island is STUNNING. not just because of how on theme it is, but the terraforming is also top notch! adding this DA to my favorites list, thank you for featuring this island katie!!
I’m far from a skiing expert but when my family went skiing, the ones that progressed were the ones that pushed themselves. Try slopes above your ability, nothing too crazy to be safe but challenge yourself. You will fall down but when you go back to the easier slopes, you’ll be so much better and more confident.
new subscriber who’s been binge watching your tours, first time catching a new one! i love the perspective builds on this island & some others you’ve toured. makes the views that much more beautiful.
I am completely blown away by this island! Absolutely fantastic, and extremely creative! I loved the homes the layout the ambience! Just love it! One of the best I’ve ever seen!
Skiied from the age of about 4 to 15, can confirm having the same gear overtime helps a lot at improving. Especially finding a pair of boots that is comfortable for your feet which I had trouble with as an early teen :P
This island was so amazing!! Although I am happy the snow is gone on my island I sure do appreciate it on other peoples 💖👄💖 amazing waterscaping as well!!
@@KatieCozyway I did so much of my current island in the snow even tho it’s a summer island so a small part of me does love it in that time the purple hints really pop! I TT so much I don’t know if I have a favorite season ahah xD
Another wonderful tour!😺 Just a thought I've had for a while...I wish they had shoes that looked like ice skates and roller skates!💭💕 I wouldn't expect them to do anything different than shoes, but I'd love to just have them for the looks.😌 My wishlist is ridiculously long.😳 Still love this game!😻
I know I’m 9 months late but I just started playing a month ago and I’m wondering what those birch/aspen tree stumps are? And did she customize the villagers homes using HHD? I can’t even get my villagers to change their damn flooring lol
Hi Kimmy. This tour was actually of my island. 🥰 The birch stumps are the log stakes customized to look like an aspen. And yes I did use the Happy Home Paradise to redecorate the villager homes. ❤
HELP!!! At 12:10 what is the name of the sign on the very left with the ice cream cones? I’m trying to make prayer flags for my Everest island and this sign would be perfect!!
Huh only 8 villagers. It's always interesting to me when people don't put all 10 villagers on their island, I'm genuinely curious as to why they choose that route.
On my old island, I had a jungle theme, houses dotted around with pretty decent sized front yards..I found it hard to do with all 10 I definitely would of only had 8 if I thought about more!
Hi Caitlyn. The reason I decided on just 8 villagers for this island is because I wanted to get the island finished before winter was officially over. Since it takes awhile to redecorate the villager interiors, I just decided to stop at 8 so I could have the island completed quicker.
This island is absolute gorge, 1 question tho: does anybody know which item is used as a star lamp at ionys house? I do have the large ones but there are some smaller ones, does anyone happen to know the exact name of the item? @~@
Hi Nasife. This is a video tour of my island, so I can help you with your question in case you didn't get your answer yet. In front of Ione's house I used the Nova light (the larger stars) and then the star clock just turned around backwards (that is the smaller stars). I'm so glad you liked the island. This was the 3rd island I created. Working on number 6 now. 💕

As an avid skier, this reminds me a lot of Whistler, Aspen and Steamboat! So cool.

I was so happy when the snow on my island was finally gone, but after watching this video I want it back. This island is stunning. ❄️🌨️
I really like this island! My favorite things about it are the nighttime setting, the snow, the terraforming and the shopping district.

Skiing is possibly my least favorite thing in the entire world, but that ski lift is the cleverest thing I have ever seen in my entire life.

This is STUNNING. Major inspo for a more modern vibe using the castle items which I love.
I love seeing these because I don’t like the winter season and have 0 creative thinking for how to decorate in winter so it’s cool to see how others make it look amazing
This island is Top 2 favorite island tours I’ve ever seen! Ever square inch is so thought out, beautiful, and has so much character.

I love unique themes like this! There are so many amazing details!
I generally get tired of in-game winter pretty quickly but this island definitely made me appreciate it. Looks amazing.
This is so stunning! And making the villagers home INSIDE a shop omg chefs kiss

So you push your weight up when you go straight and down when you make turns so you have more grip heard you have trouble making turns hope this helps
Saw the title and clicked right away
This island left me speechless!!
I will miss winter so much. Such a nice island. I might visit during the summer :P
Amazing island tour! So creative 👌
OMG THIS IS SO AMAZING ❤
Stunning 🤩
stunning i love it
I noticed that none of the trees have any fruit growing. How did you/Dana accomplish that?
Hi Nicole. I just shook all the coconut trees and gathered up the fruit before I uploaded my DA 🙂
Omg I love this WOW thank you
