Hi, is there a way to import photoshop files to create lower thirds in avid titler or some other plugin? I have a standard lower third that I just need to change the name each time. I do something similar in premiere by creating a mogrt file.
Yes you can import photoshop elements like lower 3rd back grounds etc… but only if you convert these to say TIFF’s with an Alpha channel. PSD files won’t directly import into Avid. Once you have those in you can use the Titler+ to add text
When I added a lower third and a couple of titles, it slowed playback to the point it won't even play! What is happening? I know it is the titles, because it plays just fine when I take them out. Any thoughts?
Hi Jennifer, Yes if your media clips are playing back okay then yes, it will be the processing for those 'Live' captions. What system are you on? Mac / PC? What processor and RAM? As a get around try right clicking on the caption and rendering it. Best Mark
G'day Mark, great video. Just wanted to pick your brain on using keyframes in Titler+ - how do you do it?! I'm on 2021.12 and it's a pain in the a@@. Do you have an instructional video? Cheers from Queensland, Australia.
Hi Dos, Thanks for the comment....I've not done a video on that yet. But the basics are once you've added a Titler+ caption on timeline and opened the Effect Mode, over on the record monitor (below the blue timeline) you'll see the pink keyframe icon. You can then set the position of the first frame and click the pink triangle and move the caption accordingly to another part of the screen and Avid will add that 2nd key frame for you. Hope I've understood your question correctly...if not just send me another message. best Mark
@@markadams4569 I've been trying to get the keyframes to work too. The pink keyframe tool shows up, but pressing it doesn't make keyframes in the effects editor. :(
@@AlmostFreeProduction It’s a bug! The best thing to do is when you select the Effects Mode to open the editor, on opening the 2nd Titler panel doesn’t open…you need to go to Tools / Avid Titler to open it.. then your pink triangle key frames work
tnx !
I congratulate you. It is well explained. But personally I think it was a big mistake discontinuous Marquee and Avi Tool.
Yes Marquee does have its benefits… although slightly annoying to use sometimes
Thank you for the clear explanation!
You’re welcome
