Also came here to say that haha But Matt would be able to tell me about many an AFL bloke I’d be nonethewiser to also… so it all comes out in the wash.
i am in the USA and i have been selling on ebay since they were 2 years old, yep, from the mid to late 90's. i don't do international anymore. Yes i sold more when i had international but that is where all my problems/problem buyers came from. just wasn't worth the added headaches and complaints and ebay restrictions/finger pointing so i turned it off and rarely have a problem anymore and knock on wood have retained my above seller ratings so the few extra sales wasn't worth it for me. my friends think i am nuts for turning it off but each their own but we also sell different types of items too so i think that makes a difference too. i agree with mentally running in my head about fees when buying. i like to keep it at an easy number so i roughly figure my fees at 20% seeing that is an easy number to figure even though fees are only around 13% maybe, not sure right now seeing i use the higher % number. for example when i see something i think i can get $100 for i just figure 20% in selling fees in my head so i would be walking out with $80 so then i compare it to the selling price to see if the difference is worth it to me. i like using the higher percent that way i am almost always guarantee a profit even if i make a mistake but i like that pleasant surprise when i make more than i was originally planning on when i don't make a mistake. i do the same thing in my scrap business, i underweigh my items at home and undervalu them so i am surprised i walk out with more or if something happens and i make a mistake i am still walking out with what i thought. like the other day i took in 100 pounds of copper and i had it figured at $3( i like rounding down to an easy figure number) a pound so i figured i would leave with $300 but when i weighed up on their scale i had 114 pounds and they paid me $3.78 a pound so i left with more than $430, $300 i originally planned on for bills/expenses and it gave me an extra $130 i could spend at the thrift/goodwill stores on the way home for my ebay business.
the old Salvation Army Thrift stores aren't bad however what's happening is they're gradually being taken over by Salvos stores which have price points that don't compute for r e s e l l e r s.
If you can't proove it the jersey isnt player worn. It might had been hanging in his wardrobe and not been used, as players usually have several jerseys per match as back up. So what you can say that it was match issued. But not match worn as u cant proove it - you would need to fotomatch it professionally or have different strong provenance. If you're unlucky it isnt even match issued but just a player issue - meaning it was made like a match jersey with the special specifications but was sold for fans. Does the jersey size fit the body size of the player? Match worn jerseys are extremly rare. Be careful
Hi Matt, Can you expand more on checking sold comps. Do you look at overseas sales? If something is listed as sold for AU$80 plus USA postage $100 a fairdinkum listing. Doesnt make sense when compared to an AU Sale of $60 plus $14.95 Loving Kates Input - Nailing It.
I would love for you to discuss the condition of the DVDs/cds you purchase from op shops. I’m finding more and more often, that they’re scratched/marked or in a condition that I wouldn’t want to receive and therefore won’t sell. Are you finding this? I therefore lose the money I’ve paid for the DVDs and the potential price it could’ve sold for. More often than not, I’ll buy only new/sealed DVDs.
@@TheAussieFlipperNot always the case. Watch out for ring scratches and excessive scuffs which can cause issues with playback. Sealed DVDs are the better option or NM+
@@TheAussieFlipper just kidding. I'm in America, which is currently going to hell in a handbasket. Please leave the door open for us, we might have to get out in a hurry LOL
Matt,I've been watching your channel for over a year now. With international whats the best way to work out what postage will be ? For some reason selling international always scares me lol
With DVD's do you check they are working and if so, what machine do you use? I don't expect you to watch every episode of Lost 😅 unless you want to. I have heard about CD and DVD checker machines. I'm an Aussie living in Wales 🏴 and sell as a private seller atm. I have decided to push eBay, Vinted and Depop to cover my monthly expenses. I will see how I go for the next 6 months or so.
I do like that selling advice "Dont buy crap!" 😂 I have definitely been guilty of buying crap before! Also just wondering is Kate doing your shipping now? I got my ps5 game from you guys and it was loose in the case, no bubble wrap inside, is that normal practice for you? I usually blame Aus Post for being too rough lol. Still give you good feedback.

George Harrison was in an obscure garage band called the Beatles ....👍

They’re likely seeing online sales and trying to pocket the profit first-hand.
@@ausgamecollector Salvos have their own online store as well their own ebay store, so they are very aware of the online market.
I was in one last week having a browse. Harold Bishop was working behind the counter. Good to know he's doing well.
Awww the dog is adorable.
Your girlfriend seems very genuine and nice.
Good luck withe your sales this month.
George Harrison was a backup singer for some British band I think.

Look forward to listing on eBay. Keep up the great work.
Here for the puppy content.
If you bought a box set for $35 on the profit was $35 do you still see it worth it to make the effort in listing it to begin with?
Interesting

When you have watchers, is it better to lower the price by editing the listing or sending an offer to eligible buyers?
edit the listing :)
