I only just noticed this, but on Trevor and Skarloey's execution pictures, they had big, twisted smiles when a bullet was put through their smokebox. They were happy about their sweet release. As much as they wanted to be really useful, they also wanted to die. They didn't want to suffer, but they didn't want their operators to suffer either. Rest in Peace, Old Faithful..
I love how even in this horrid turn of events, Skarloey thinks of his passengers first. Its such a parallel to when he broke down in the Railway series. He didn't have to push himself further, and yet he chose to do so. What a brave legend, and one that hearkens to the source material. Stay puffin along, Skarloey...may you find peace.

That's a really great Skarloey voice. This is just my opinion, but your illustrations somewhat remind me of C. Reginald Dalby's illustrations from Four Little Engines. You should be proud of yourself that these look like authentic RWS illustrations. I also love the detail of Skarloey's crew crying at having to lose their friend. It makes it that much more sad. Overall, great job.

Skarloey tells his driver he had an ache in his boiler and his driver told him they'll stop at a siding to see what's wrong with him, When they stopped His driver told him he was turning into some kind of monster, His driver told him they have to stay and call for help, But Skarloey said he'll take them home and his driver agreed. When they got to the station His driver and firemen broke into tears begging Skarloey to say something but he didn't They had to put him out of misery just like Jem Cole did with Trevor so that he wouldn't hurt anyone.

I do agree that this is very sad. But considering how skarloey was rude and arrogant when he first came to Sodor in 1865, this is a great decision of conner to include this because this is where his character comes full circle after over 100 years of being here. He’s learned from those times and now he’s not holding back.
Your art is top notch! However, I will say that Skarloey didn't sound horrified enough by what was happening to him. My advice would be to put a little more emotion or shock when he first sees his melting eye and what not. The determination can come right after that. But overall this is a great telling of what happened.

Rheneas: Wait, those are Skarloey's crew? Where is he?? Nobody knew what to say or how Rheneas would take the news... Rheneas: Duncan?... DUNCAN! WHERE IS SKARLOEY?! WHY HE'S NOT WITH YOU!! Duncan: Rheneas... Skarloey... Rheneas: What?! Where is he?!? Duncan: This will be hard to say but... Your brother is dead, they had to put him down because he was... Suffering, i'm sorry Rheneas.. Rheneas: ...Skarloey it's... D-dead??... No... Rheneas was devastated, the rest of his friends were missing and now his brother was dead, now... He has nothing else, Duncan tried to cheer him up but it was useless, from that day something broke inside Rheneas...
Rheneas started to become something... primal, his mutation began but it's wasn't like the others oh no. His wheels extended from his body as they became connected to a pair of muscular legs with scarlet fur and his face became wolf like. He was last seen with the devoured remains of Duncan then left to pursue Diesel, whose wore a hyperwide smile and had his horn on full blast as if his voice fused with his horn

But...when my driver came out to inspect me...he seemed...horrified...I asked him what was wrong...and he told me I was becoming some sort of monster...and showed me a mirror...one of my eyes had become...white...and I had skin...linking part of my Mouth together...my driver said we didn't have to go any further...but I refused...the Passengers needed me. I was going to get them home, one way or the other...so we set off again... By the the time we got to the station...I...couldn't speak...only let out these creepy moans from my mouth...I heard my Driver load his pistol, and the next thing I know...I'm dead...my driver put me out of my misery...maybe it was for the better..."
At the end it’s kinda sad ngl 😭🥺 skarloey is now in train heaven and I hope he forgives his driver or fireman from shooting him I hope he understands F in the chat 😭
