That kind of thing is the worst, I get so freaked in security and even more customs/border crossing settings, and then I remember how studies show that people who think they are good at reading facial cues (not to mention the bullshit facial recognition tech some places are starting to use) tend to misidentify between anxiety and dishonesty, and that makes me even more anxious, and then I get even more anxious about being even more anxious etc etc etc
As a person who actually always carries at least one knife (utility reasons), it's terrifying, and yes @HunterJE yeah, totally agree, crippling social anxiety + TSA/border crossing/customs shit is just, a real fucking nightmare. I do not travel alone, and if I do, they better be prepared to carry me in a fetal position should anything happen.

My brother had a similar thing to Julia’s fine motor skills where the preschool teachers gave my parents a concerned talk about him possibly having difficulties hearing, took him to a specialist and turned out his hearing was perfectly fine and he just truly did not care that people were talking to him

Inventing new local currency was in fact a thing in some regions of German (not sure if also Austria). The idea was to strengthen the local community and economy instead of global franchises. So you were be able to trade in Euros at the local bank to e.g. Hinterbucks (fixed rate, no fees) and spent this currency in the area. Of course you could change back to Euros, too. I don't know if it's still done though. There were (still are?) of course also scammers who hijack or imitate project like these, but afaik you could always easily spot them because they did not offer exchanges back to Euro.

People who haven't changed, people who don't care too, people who will learn/remember something they had said publicly and double down...but for me I'd just be embarrassed that private messages are being leaked. Idk why or what's wrong with me, but I've got this inherent shame about almost everything i do. So even if i just had a friend who posted about us crying about orcas or sharks I'd still be humiliated. Weather forecast from Spain, people! Right now, where I live, it's 69º F (noice, I'm not making that up). In Southern Spain (Málaga), it's 81º F.
For reference, the distance between my city and Málaga is around 608 miles. The distance between north and south Texas is 428 miles. So... I'm starting to think: checking the weather for a whole country, may be a bit of a lost cause??

I know I'm nine days late but my biggest fear around "cancellation" is the fact that I'd be lumped in with actually horrible people. People who haven't changed, people who don't care too, people who will learn/remember something they had said publicly and double down...but for me I'd just be embarrassed that private messages are being leaked.
Idk why or what's wrong with me, but I've got this inherent shame about almost everything i do. So even if i just had a friend who posted about us crying about orcas or sharks I'd still be humiliated. That sense of everything private just being out there for anybody to make any kind of judgement, even if accurate or true or whatever, is terrifying. I wish not to be perceived, thank you very much.
then again time and time again "cancellation" has proven to not be real, so again I'd be more concerned with privacy than being cancelled. I mean, there's actual predators and abusers who managed to keep massive fanbases, or still are getting paid by whatever social media they're on, and that sucks. Yes innocent people have fallen into the week long spotlight for legitimately no reason, just because the internet wanted someone to hate on, but still tons of people already fill that role, especially those ragebait accounts. the internet may be cruel most of the time, but why harass someone who has no prominence and hasn't done anything, when there's tons of people doing bad things already, and refuse to just not be weird/gross?
