      Obrigado.

O que significa esta frase em inglês (não posso falta agora).
      Agradeço a sua resposta.
Does falta here mean missing or feeling?
The verb (falta) confuses me a lot.
Can you kindly explain it to me please?
      Obrigadissimo Professora.

Great video! As far as I remember there's no equivalent sound for LH in English. I've found it useful by combining the sounds /l/ and /j/ from English like in 'lemon' and 'yes'.

@@Walter.Quiroz good strategy. The closest in English are the words billion and million, but it’s not the same.

Temos essas sons na língua sérvia. (CH = Ш оu Š / LH= Љ, ili LJ / NH = Њ, ou NJ).. Usamos letras cirílicas e latinas.

Muito interessante! A língua sérvia tem algumas semelhanças com a língua portuguesa, quando ouço a língua há algo que me parece familiar. Para a letra 'R' pode pensar num 'CH' bem mais forte(usando a fonética eslava).

I hear ‘’H’’ at the beginning of the word ( rápido sounds like hapido ) and at RR in word ( terra sounds like teha). Muito obrigada pela útil informação. E muitos beijinhos ( joke).

Interesting you mention that. When I teach the guttural "r" sound I tell students to think of the word "hot" in English. So I totally see where you are coming from. Beijinhos!

Hello! 🙂Can someone tell me if there are any person names with the - nh - in it, please?
And also names with the typical ~ symbol on a letter?

    • @learneuropeanportuguese
      @learneuropeanportuguese  Рік тому +1

We use the nh a lot in diminutives like Pedrinho, Sandrinha, Mariazinha…
I can’t recall at the moment a name with the til

@@learneuropeanportuguese Oh, thank you! 🙂So no initial names with NH, right, only diminutives? I feel like it somehow makes them sound cuter, ha ha.

With a tilde there is João. Ah and also Sebastião. Probably there is more, but not that much.

Pronunciation is the difficulty in this language: I got a few smiles when I attempted the language recently in Madeira. However, it was useful reading restaurant menus and sign posts.
