I have a learning disability, attempting to establish child support with the court has been horrible. I requested accommodations for the trial that too 7 years to finally have & requested accommodations for DYXCALCULA, DYSLEXIA & ADHD Iwas told there was no accommodations for that type of Disability. The hearing was virtual and they miscalculated support I did not notice until I picked up the court notes. I filed a motion to correct there mistakes & was denied a year later, they included there mistake in the final order. Very frustrating to feel taken advantage of due to a difference that still should have had a fair trial.

Did you identify the accommodations you needed? You need to tell them what you need, not just say accommodate me, but I don't know how.. Such as written questions also read to you, questions repeated upon request. There are websites that list dozens of possible accommodations for various disabilities. I have had courts refuse to even discuss it.

@@110311DONTWANTCHANNE I did, they called me to let me know that could not be accommodated. I thought they would write me a reply but they didn’t.

Three great case examples concerning reasonable accommodations and an important point stated and then proven, “….the Government didn’t care about this disabled guy!”

COURTS blatantly violate ADA and 504 (as well as my state law). They IGNORE accommodation requests. Sometimes they implement an 'accommodation' that directly conflicts with the request. USDOJ doesn't respond, ADA coordinators enable it. Court has enabled my ex to use them as a tool of domestic violence. P&A is a joke. I am on disability, can't afford a lawyer. When I was working I requested accommodation of being exempt from traveling out of state for the sole purpose of the company lecturing me on how good they were to me and sign me up for benefits (this was before covid). It had NOTHING to do with the job itself. I requested in writing via email and certified mail....EEOC took employers word that I never made the request and found against me (and the email/receipt copies). This is NJ.
