actually it was never used as a dump truck. we took the truck from con expo removed the box, and they became power units to pull K-Tec scrapers. we fitted 3 A60Gs. I got to say this thing was massive and barely fit in the shop
In sweden there would be one guy or gal doing everything, then driving the the edge of the property and wait for the lead car, that is only needed because the A60 is 34cm to wide(about a foot) to go with out. It falls with in both length and weight requierment. (Including the trailer)
You would think they would just keep it raised until they get on the Street. How many times do you have to get hung up on the same spot with that Truck
Why add the last 2 axles of the trailer? I think with 3 axles in front of the trailer and 3 axles in the back. A total of 6 axles is enough to transport the Volvo Dump Truck....
My eyes aren’t good enough to see what grade chain/binders he’s using, but if they’re Grade 80 or better and 5/8” thick then he is good to go (FMCSA regs at least).
A heavy haul guys once told me that with that much weight on it dont mater how many chains you use when all that weight gets momentum its going to rip those chains. That's just to keep the cops happy. I still would put as many chains as I thought required.
It's got a lot more than 3 on the deck. That's a 10' wide trailer. It's got about 3" on am 8' 6" trailer. Also they ride way better without the outriggers under them.
What are the laws regarding heavy weight in the US? Here in Sweden 60 metric tonnes is considered standard and no need for extra axles outside the standards. While large I dont see the weight as particularly high.
You've posted some great Conexpo videos again this year. I (and I'm sure many others) will be disappointed when you finish editing and posting the last of your videos from the show. Of course, we'll enjoy your other posts from the "field." I don't know if you can share with us how you get such good access to the show itself as well as the post-show loading of some of the equipment. Also, how do you get access to construction sites to shoot video of the machines in action? I would think both areas (the show and the field) would be rather restrictive about access. Your footage and editing is very professionally done. I always look forward to seeing an email telling me that you have another video to watch.
Ron J It all started with me having to sneak into expos and take videos from the perimeters of construction sites. As the UA-cam channel etc has got bigger it’s been a bit of a door opener for proper access. This Conexpo load out was done with proper access this year. I’ve still a few good videos to come from it including Volvo’s largest rigid truck moving out which is twice the size of the one in this video.
You're moving several large pieces. Do they go to a customer or back to volvo in one piece or are they going to a staging yard somewhere to be taken apart to make further transport easier? Like the attention to detail on your trucks and trailer assemblies.... clean, tires blacked....
hey i appreciate it sir all my trucks are always clean like that. we took them to a laydown yard about 15 miles away . we had 38 pieces of equipment to haul out of there. and then the last couple weeks we have hauled most of them back to California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.
Sweet video !!! Fine truck and what a Beast of a A.D.T. !! Volvo went for width over lenght and height?? Do you have video coming of Volvo's rigid dump truck too? Just one other question WHY is there more tyre overhanging the actually on the trailer..... like ever hear of extendors/pull outs for the sides??😁
There's video of this same truck and trailer hauling different pieces of machinery out of the convention area. I'm guessing they are set up for the heaviest thing they had to move and didn't bother switching up the trailer to haul the lighter stuff.
Why didn’t they extend the width of the trailer? That’s a very big heavy load to have balanced on half the tyre widths! Look at those front tyres! So little of it in the trailer they are warping under the load, very bad unsafe loading IMO.
david bradford But you could use outriggers like everyone else has suggested, otherwise surely it’s a trailer not for for the purpose and was dangerous to use?
Imagine seeing this go across the old Memphis bridge into memphis. I saw one today and i was happy to be in front of it
Volvo makes awesome machines 👍🏻
Fun Fact: It's never going to be this clean again.

Thats a mighty impressive rig thats haulin' the Volvo. Its probably a bit overkill for only a 44 tonne load though 😀 Thanks for filming.
Eighty eighty thousand pounds is a lot of weight
39.961 Ton.
Wdym they need that lowboy for a 80,000lbs machine that alot of weight.
He means that’s a 85 ton trailer pulling a load that would go on a 55 ton trailer. I pull those on 8 axles
I used to drive a Volvo A40 D dump truck. Just amazing machines.
What did you like most about driving it?
@@ConstructionMachineryChannel How similar and simple it is to drive with full load or empty. Suspensions on these things are so impressive.
@@MemoryLaneCinema Cool, thanks for replying.
Good lord! What do all of you think? I’m thinking one bottle of tire shine per axel! Lmao! So much tire shine, but so shiny!! Truck is nice!
The trailer draws more attention than the Volvo. Here in Brazil there is no trailer in this category. Excellent trailer!
Now that's a sweet rig

If it's loaded and tied. down you don't need outrigger boards

Three inches of tire biting the trailer? I would not haul it unless the runners on the side were used

Such a nimble little transport 🙂
Impresionante, esta máquina.. Volvo 👍👍

60 ton is the weight that it can handle in the bed and haul away.

Holy cow, now imagine how much weight it would be with a load of dirt or some big rocks.
Good job driver !
Great video, if you don't mind asking? Are you running 20k or 50k chains ?

I personally preffer A45GFS, i have driven the A60H, and it is horrible for terrain driving because of the suspension, other then that, its great
it's a 60 tonner articulated dump truck, right?

as always they do an excellent job💪 and a pleasure to learn more with these videos greetings and blessings for all ✌️😎

its crasy how the tyres overhang the platform

That truck is perfectly roadworthy, so why go to the trouble of putting it on a flat bed? It would be much more agile and safer on the road by itself.
That thing is wider than a normal road you dingus! Plus it probably eats fuel.
