Interesting video... genuine question...if you dry the car with a chamois leather, surely there won’t be any water marks regardless of water hardness? (Plus it would give a better finish)
If you can mop up all the water before it dries, then maybe. But in practice its difficult, especially in the summer. I've never found I can produce as good results using filtered water.
Try a water filter, it will change your life. The need to dry is eliminated, no need to blow out the tight areas to avoid drips staining, and the finish is incredible
Just came in after washing the car ( bird droppings!) and watched this video. I used the garden tap and that is piped off the supply side and is hard water. If I had seen this first I would have tried the soft water everywhere else in the system. But my softener recharges using salt blocks and I think that the soft water is ever so slightly saline, at least that's why the gardening tap is still hard water for the plants. As salt could equal rust maybe not such a good idea!
@@GoGreenAutos think you are right. Not the same, my softener passes water through a layer of resin like your system. It then flushes the resin through with salt from time to time to " renew" it and allows the process to go on again.
@@charlesbridgford254 Not quite as good if you use the first of the rainwater, because that washes most of the pollution out of the air. It's better to wait an hour before collecting rainwater.
Same here. It falls from the sky for free. Lots of it in the UK. Great for spot free washing as no mineral content. Even pressure washers will run off less than a metre of head very happily, no need for a booster pump. Surely better than taking chlorinated potable water from the mains, then treating it again to demineralise, just prior to tipping it down the drain.
Can I ask why you are turning your comments off on your car selling videos - I’m not an EV owner yet and I have questions !! Even current EV owners might have questions It makes no sense 🤷🏻♂️
Because recently some have been posting negative comments on these, which are not justified. There's some people that just don't like EVs and feel they have to share their views. Do fire any questions over on email to matt@gogreenautos.co.uk

I don't think softened water is the same as de-ionised water.
Softened water swaps the Calcium for Sodium. Just as 'salty'… but more soluble.
Try rainwater. Soft as you like....
@@charlesbridgford254 well I have got a rainwater butt too!

Great video, please send me the eBay link to the additional shut off valves on eBay, I've ordered the same as yours by the same company
What happens to the spent resin when you change it?
Bag it & bin it.
@@GoGreenAutos Not recyclable in any way? That doesn't sound too good.
Is the water drinkable ?
I guess so
Hard water is better for you than soft, more minerals in it.
I use rain water collected from the roof to rinse my car. Works great no spots and it's free.

I've turned comments back on, but held for review - only on the for sale videos.
