Mego toys and celebrity doll's and figures and playsets were very popular in the '70's and early '80's. Some of their doll's though had kinda ugly looking head and face sculpts but some were done nicely and look good. I never cared much for their Laverne & Shirley doll's and their Lenny & Squiggy doll's since they seem to have the ugliest faces and ugliest outfits. Those doll's did not sell very well at that time but their other celebrity and TV show doll's and figures sold very well especially their 1976 Cher doll since she outsold Barbie doll's that year from what I heard.

You are right some are so ugly.......I have the Captain and Tenelle dolls, I just don't have the space to display them. I'm going to do a video of my Greatest American Hero doll real soon.

@@80stoymania The Mego female fashion doll's are also known for suffering from melting joints issues due to the hard plastic torso reacting with the rubber or soft vinyl limbs causing the plastic to melt. This is especially true for the Toni Tennille doll and sometimes the Farrah Fawcett doll but some melt to a lesser degree and some others melt more badly to where the doll's arms are separating from the torso but Itasca common thing with a doll that is nearly 50 years old. I have some of these doll's like Mego Farrah.
