    Enjoyed the video. I liked seeing branding done this way, as we here in Texas don’t normally head and heel. We just heel and drag to a flanking crew. The comradery of the crew and the flow was especially enjoyable to see. Best of all, I LOVED reading the comments, and your response to the detractors.

    My horse and I enjoyed everyday
    To my horse it was a game to play
    My cattle dog had skills to display

      Curious cowboy culture in Spain that possibly spread to America. The long rod is called "garrocha" (similar to a spear with a very small point), but it can cause injuries to the animal, and cause its death, so in America it was replaced by the lasso (although the Garrocha is still used in Colombia ) ua-cam.com/video/nk_n1yQlmT0/v-deo.html

    They did everything all at one time. The ears, the balls, the brand. Maybe the same is great for fathers who abandon their children and families and leave them destitute.

      LOL these "calves" not animals are getting a shred of what natural life is like. Better to be roped, branded and cared for then eaten alive by a pack of wolves/coyotes.

      Actually you are incorrect. This is safest procedure and least stressful way to handle vaccinations, and placing owner identification. The calves are returned to their mothers in a very timely manner reducing stress. Using the mechanical method( calf table) maximizes stress, because the calf is away from its mother for long periods of time, and there are FAR more injuries to the animal AND personnel.

      I understand you. I love animals and I want to be a farmer. Luckily there are better ways to tag a cow and we aren't as barbaric as we used to be. No need to keep traditions that are cruel and outdated for old times sake if you're literally burning an animal alive
