Enjoyed the video. I liked seeing branding done this way, as we here in Texas don’t normally head and heel. We just heel and drag to a flanking crew. The comradery of the crew and the flow was especially enjoyable to see. Best of all, I LOVED reading the comments, and your response to the detractors.

You all seem efficient. I was genuinely curious I thought they would buck & cry but they don’t see to mind a whole lot & it doesn’t seem like they care too much after. Anyway, nice ranch I hope to have my own someday!

Curious cowboy culture in Spain that possibly spread to America. The long rod is called "garrocha" (similar to a spear with a very small point), but it can cause injuries to the animal, and cause its death, so in America it was replaced by the lasso (although the Garrocha is still used in Colombia ) ua-cam.com/video/nk_n1yQlmT0/v-deo.html
They did everything all at one time. The ears, the balls, the brand. Maybe the same is great for fathers who abandon their children and families and leave them destitute.
This is very cruel . The people have no mercy for the animals. There should a better way to tag these animals instead of subjecting them to agonizing torture.
LOL these "calves" not animals are getting a shred of what natural life is like. Better to be roped, branded and cared for then eaten alive by a pack of wolves/coyotes.
Actually you are incorrect. This is safest procedure and least stressful way to handle vaccinations, and placing owner identification. The calves are returned to their mothers in a very timely manner reducing stress. Using the mechanical method( calf table) maximizes stress, because the calf is away from its mother for long periods of time, and there are FAR more injuries to the animal AND personnel.
Really?!?!? How would you feel if you got your skin burned off without any option, while people hold you down? Very agonizing and stressful, right? God, I hate you! Omg ! Then you serve beef! Unbelievable!
Shut up its how we survived back then and even now u sound like the biggest pussy and yes I get its agonizing but sorry mother nature isn't as beautiful as u thought
you musnt be an american for a long time... This is how it was. some like to maintain the identity! I dont like to see the treatment of the cattle like that either, i thought it was a bit rough, but walk a day in their boots! then you will understand.
I understand you. I love animals and I want to be a farmer. Luckily there are better ways to tag a cow and we aren't as barbaric as we used to be. No need to keep traditions that are cruel and outdated for old times sake if you're literally burning an animal alive
atleast they did it all at once, takes them under a minute to do, like ripping off a band aid, these are completely legal practices so why would it be banned
Wow nice to see all the processes, being honest about the animal "welfare". But really brutal to hunt down small calfes and brand them. Animal abuse really.

You can shut up
Think freeze branding is a more humane way, instead of needless stress and pain to cattle

Well you clearly are not a farmer branding is needed for identification of the animal to prevent theft.
You know collars can come off, right? So that isn't much of a deterrent to cattle thieves is it.
