Being optimistic when things are not so good is about enjoying each moment, each interaction and keeping the self belief high even when others are letting doubt in ... In the end the win is all the more sweeter .... I lived in my car for over a year ... What an amazing year it was for me ... ❤️

Such important information. Very profound and a powerful lecture. Thank you. It is a privilege, and an honour, to be alive when this information is accessible to our society and our generation. The hard work that has gone into developing and acquiring such knowledge to then share with our population is just grand.

I worked with dually diagnosed clients', adapting to the broad range of abilities...I assigned a group walk (no talking please) look for signs of autumn on your walk, come back and share with group, Most folks enjoyed it...we shared about feelings that arise with signs of autumn. Positive feedback about group. Thank you for your nourishing presentation. Meg Young

I'll give you the Cliff Notes version: From this moment forward, you are *NOT ALLOWED* to give up on yourself, your family members, your friends, etc. Also, it helps to tell others what you are struggling with, even if you think they can do nothing to help you.

Even in a difficult time just imagine you're not alone and that the storm will be over. With this you can conquer resillience.

Thank you Dr. Mininni. psychology is my love..I feel like it is the core of humans.
It is so serious that.. I think states should include psychotherapy in being a requirement for habitual violators.
As a matter of fact.. it should be taught in slight as early as possible in schools instead of waiting until high school.

Amazing talk. Great lecturer. She is so smart and so concise, so clear, taking research from so many researchers, so natural, so captivating with real amazing stories. Feel bad for the woman who thought she killed grandma by not cleaning up. Social connection only once three weeks. Gratitude. Acknowledging the very sad. Mindfulness. Power over your body. Grateful for this talk.

That was a really insightful and thought-provoking interview. I particularly appreciated the idea that Siegel mentioned about the mind being both embodied and relational; what a wonderful world it would be to exercise our compassion muscles in our minds and in our physical world.

Well, gotta love you "highbrows" but I find a good amount of humor in you too.
Here you are giving a lecture of on "Post Traumatic Growth"; totally amazed that you've never heard of it before. But, here's where you young intellectuals get funny...just look back over you shoulder. In my days it was (and still is by common sense folks) called "WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER." Now there's your whole lecture in SEVEN WORDS!!!

Optimism is living like the bee, always looking for the sweet nectar in the most colorful and beautiful flowers, while pessimism is living like the fly, who is always looking for garbage and dirt to land on, even if the most beautiful fragrant flowers are around.

No one seems to have noticed the big falsehood 27 mins into this talk.
"Look at things as they are, but not worse than they are!"
This is being touted as realistic optimism when actually it's simply being realistic, not optimistic. They want to try and distance themselves from the Pollyanna accusations being made against this market driven rather than science driven move in academic psychology since Seligman became influential.
