So interesting to hear someone else's experience on this! I can definitely relate to struggling with the difference on health advice from what you know! as a side note on postcode limitations: in the Delft/Den Haag area I was still kinda held up to that but a bit more loosely! My midwife practice defenitley had a geographical limitation on what neighboorhoods they serve (it was much wider than GP area though!)
Gefeliciteerd 🎉 Another big difference in terms of public health advice that I noticed is that once the baby is born you are told to put hot water bottle canisters in your baby's cot to keep them warm! At least for Winter babies that is (my son was born in November). This is completely different from the advice given in the UK where a lot of focus is put on paying attention to your baby not getting too warm due to the risk of SIDS. I'm sure no one in Australia is putting hot bottles of water in their baby's cot either (?) 😂 hope you have a lovely last few weeks of pregnancy. Take care!
Thank you!! And yes, definitely have never heard of this advice before either. Also had never seen anything like the kruiken/metal canisters before - they scare me a little! Nonetheless I have them ready, since it was in the checklist 😂 thank you for your kind words! ❤️❤️
@captainchaos3667 Possibly not, I'm not sure if there has been any research on that specifically (?) Lower SIDS incidence could be due to a range of factors I'm guessing. My point was more that the advice here is sometimes in direct contrast to the advice given in other countries, which can be quite confusing for migrant mums trying to decide what is the best approach for their babies. It's not a criticism of the advice here, more highlighting that it is far from a universal recommendation 🙏
Congratulations and best wishes! I recently found out that rasberry leaf tea is beneficial for later stages of pregnancy (at 36 or 37 weeks if I remember correctly) and helps with childbirth, so I thought I'd share it with you
Thank you so much! ❤️ And yes, coincidentally I actually just ordered some nettle leaf and raspberry leaf tea this afternoon! Hope it helps me in childbirth and postpartum. Thanks for sharing! 🥰
I agree that it could be much better! But I’m also pleasantly surprised by how generous the paternity/partner leave is here compared to many countries. Hopefully with time, things will only get better for future parents!
Thanks for sharing
Your videos are the one of the few that my husband and I wait to watch because they are so real and informative. Lots of love to you. Goodluck 🍀
Aww, thank you so much for this sweet message! Means a lot to me and I am always happy to hear my videos are helpful! ❤️✨
so happy to see you back on youtube. all best wishes for you and baby🥰
It’s good to be back! Thank you so much ❤️❤️

Ooo good to know re. geographical limitations in Delft and Den Haag! Hopefully you found one that you like and were able to register at :)

The rate of SIDS is slightly lower in the Netherlands than in the UK, so it doesn't appear that hot water bottles are a risk factor for SIDS.

Woooow!! Congrats!!! 🥰😍
Thank you so much!!
Congratulations, Leesa
Thank you so much!! ❤️
So informational- thanks for sharing! What is the monthly premium for the supplemental insurance?
The monthly premium for 2 star additional insurance (the most suitable one for pregnancy) with Zilveren Kruis is €22.25 :)
Wow, that’s a great price.

I’m always surprised by how little maternity leave women get here compared to some other European and non European countries

Is NIPT already covered in the basic insurance? I gave birth 2 years ago and had to pay separately for NIPT
Yep, it used to not be covered but now is :)
@LeesaYu Yes I can second this as I was pregnant when I read an article that it was going to become free the following year. Jammer for us 😅
