    Is the streakline described by many particles that are injected through the same origin at time t = 0, then take different pathlines and stop at time t = t1 ? Then the streakline is drawn through position those particles?

    What about steady non uniform flow? Will all the three remain same?

    • @linktothesmash
      @linktothesmash 2 роки тому +1

      In short, yes they would be.
      The curved pipe is technically an example of non-uniform steady flow, because the particles change velocity (that is, their direction) as they are carried through the pipe. In steady flow, each particle that passes a given point would follow the same path, thus streakline=pathline.
      Also, each particle would essentially 'become' the next particle it is moving towards (including the change in velocity), in later time. This is basically a chain reaction through the domain and we would find pathline=streamline.

  • @AbhishekKumar-ey6rx
    @AbhishekKumar-ey6rx 6 років тому

    Sir can we say that all three lines are also coincides for unsteady flow also at just near about Origin for very small distance???

    • @ClariFLIXConcepts
      @ClariFLIXConcepts  6 років тому +2

      Dear Abhishek Kumar,
      A line is defined as combination of infinite points. So all these lines i.e. streamline, pathline and streakline are representing several set of points in a space. So u can not actually say that they coincide at origin. But yes, you can say that since all these lines are defined at origin, they all must pass through origin. So even for unsteady flow they must share a common points at which they are all defined.
      I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if you still have any query.

    Sir i have one doubt that is
    If my car is moving on the road ,the drag force is opposite to me .in this case, which line will be considered ? I think stream line am i right sir ?if i am wrong pls crt me sir

  • @gauthamsathyaprabhua464
    @gauthamsathyaprabhua464 6 років тому +1

    sir, by explanation stream line and path line are different , but by visual they both looks similar, how can we differentiate each of them and what is the application of stream line?

    • @ClariFLIXConcepts
      @ClariFLIXConcepts  6 років тому

      Dear gowtham a,
      Streamline and pathline are totally two different lines.... Streamline is always show at a particular instant of time whereas pathline requires certain interval of time.
      For steady fluid flow whoes flow variables do not change with respect to time, both these streamline and pathline looks similar. But for unsteady flow field, they will be different. In this video I have explained the clear difference between streamline, streakline and pathline using an example of unsteady flow field.
      All these lines are rigorously used for flow visualization.

    • @gauthamsathyaprabhua464
      @gauthamsathyaprabhua464 6 років тому

      Thank you sir for replying, but the application of all this lines what you have said , i already know sir, they are used for flow visualization and to reduce drag caused by eddy, but its not the thing I am asking sir, i'm asking what is the part of stream line in flow visualization, like path line shows the path followed, i'm asking the purpose of predicting stream line in flow visualization sir

    • @ClariFLIXConcepts
      @ClariFLIXConcepts  6 років тому

      Dear sahu Nagesh,
      We can not see any of these lines with our naked eyes. But there are techniques available like smoke injection, dye injection and Particle Image Velocimetry to visualize these lines.
