Heya Hobbyists! Glad to finally be making this video. I have a lot of things I want to cover here on the channel.. One of them is my recent AUDIO ISSUES! This is causing me trouble on my Asmr channel too - sometimes the audio just cuts out hard when I'm recording. Such as at 18:55. Help me fix it so I can make a video about it haha

i also have been burnt out with linux, now i just use ubuntu wsl for programming and stuff, i havent boot up my linux desktop in a long time.
I will admit I do support you and hope for the best in your endeavors, but have no interest in your changing direction. I wanted to thank you for all of the inspiration you've given me over the years as well as knowing you found some solace in the tyranny of the world. Thank you for everything you've taught me in the past. You've cleared up a lot of questions i once had about anything from alternative components to introducing me to new worlds unseen before. You are a true, kind hearted and intelligent individual, and such reminds me that there is hope in the world yet. Egee, Dont quit your channel for any reason, if even not from interest in the content, its a steady reminder that you are okay, and I will be here planting my thumb as a flag of support.
Yeah dude Plasma5 is the only DE I'll run anymore. Jumped from GNOME at the 3 switch over to BSPWM. And my workstation still runs it primarily, but my screwaround instances are KDE all day. The desktop is fine, but all the KDE app integration has gotten so good in the last couple years.
19:14 I lasted at most a few hours on gnome 😅 KDE is just where it's at for me despite how "bloated" it is as they say.
I tried gnome for a bit as well, just couldn't get into it. I know for some it works for them and that is awesome but I have a layout in KDE that works for me and that's one of the reasons I like it.
After working on KDE for quite some time I simply cannot go back to Gnome. Stability is key and Debian is pretty great for that. Looking forward to your hobby videos.
I will say I understand where you are coming from having a full time job in tech, and then doing tech stuff on youtube it can be too much sometimes. Similar situation happened with me where I just burnt out and kinda walked away. You should be making videos that are fun and be about something that you are passionate about, not something that drains you.
When my work/life had less stress, it was fun to play around with new tech & ideas and share it on the channel. I'm hoping I can go back to that.
I jumped to Plasma recently after being on GTK based desktops for forever and I really dont think I could go back. Every GTK based desktop has some kind of nagging issue that picks away at me. MATE feels like you're using a 15 year old machine. Cinnamon is just bland, like eating plain white rice. GNOME keeps removing things to the point applications are barely usable anymore.
I installed Plasma on my desktop (Deb 12) and nuked Cinnamon off the machine. Enjoying it way more and it's way more performant while looking better at the same time. Should have done this years ago.
I stopped using Gnome after 38->40. I think the only GTK desktop that is innovating anymore is Budgie and that's such a small project, I dunno how long it'll hang on. Ugh, desktop Linux used to be so cool 😭
