Being a parent of a disabled adult, was not a career by choice. I and other parents alike are at a huge disadvantage as we have not studied in this area, we have had to hit the ground running, whilst being thrown in the deep end of our world of disability. These talks have been invaluable in clearly stating what our rights as carers and those of our children are. This knowledge will help to make it a much fairer playing field. Thank you.
Sue, I couldn't agree with you more. The disability isn't an issue, it is what it is and we must get on with it, the real problems are caused by those who exist in theory to help us, but customarily ignore the law and make everything so much harder.
