My senior year in high school, my teacher at our small Christian private school, taught us to meal plan. How to budget. She gave us an amount of what the average college students makes a month and told us to budget. That life skill was so valuable because she taught us how to live within our means. She taught us to meal plan and how to make basic dorm meals.
Denison Algebra is also the best-it takes traditional math and actually makes it useful-cannot say enough goods things about it, changed our math homeschooling life.
Wow. This math book is incredible, I wish shomeone would have done one like this applied in European reality (different insurance systems and probably more stuff).
YES!!!!! AMAZING!!!! I ordered it before she was finished with the flip through & my kiddos are still in elementary school. Bless you, Angela, for bringing all this wonderful curriculum our way!!!!
We are coming to the end of our 3rd year of homeschool and it is such a cool thing learning alongside my kids!! Being able to witness the “lightbulb” moments and having a few of those myself ;-) It truly is one of the best things about getting to school my kiddos at home 💕
I just ordered wind and waves, fields and flowers, and sparks and stars Do the activity books go with those science curriculums? Like botany with fields and flowers. Space with sparks and stars ect?
My youngest is graduating from public school in a month and I just ordered that consumer math book. lol. 😂 This is exactly what she needs! Sad that the high school didn’t teach all this important real world stuff! Thanks for the flip through!
Love these walk throughs and Kim's stuff is golden. Will be purchasing the math course. Would you be willing to also review and flip through Learn Math Fast?
I've used the Good and the Beautiful Science units for all ages, but my littles just didn't get much out of them....these new books geared towards them look so great! And the "real world" Math curriculum looks fantastic! Definitely will be looking at that! Thanks so much!
Do you have any recommendations for high school Spanish? I have been researching and it is overwhelming. I need it to be thorough enough to count as a high school credit with different levels for her to build on throughout high school, but I do not know much Spanish, so I need it to be something online or with videos that she could watch. Any recommendations are appreciated. You are my fist stop when researching curriculum for my kiddos. Thank you!
This looks like an amazing math program. My daughter is a bit young still (going into grade 7) but I'm wondering how young you think you could start then on this. I might do it twice. Middle school and then again in high school but I'm concerned it'll be boring for her the second time around
Haha I want that consumerism math book for myself and I’m 31 with a Bachelors degree 😂 Not sure if this is a touchy subject, but I just learned that a homeschooler diploma sometimes gets a bad rep and people op for GED, what are your thoughts on that from your personal experience? My daughter is only 3 and I plan to homeschool and I was public schooled so that’s all new to me ❤
If I were an employer, I would value a homeschool diploma over your useless bachelor's degree if I saw that the kid had a good skill set and the required experience.
If college bound, would this count as a math post Algebra 2? My junior needs 2 and so far he only has one that qualifies (Geometry). He's not a math person except for practical real life math so I was thinking about consumer math or statistics.
My kids are only elementary school aged and I hope by the time they are in high school I remember this! I always say I’m not interested in them being a genius, but able to live their lives and function in their lives. This math curriculum looks awesome!
Start a note in your phone or as a document and "collect" all the links, resources, tips & tricks in one spot so you don't lose it :) my kids are 5 and 3 so there's a lot I won't be using yet but am so excited about
Loved the Not Consumed math recommendation so much I just bought it 😂 thanks for always being so real with these videos and always giving the best recs ♥️
Love that consumer math book! What age do you get your kids a debit card? Or do you guys stick to cash? I feel like it's harder to teach money skills now that we don't use cash like we used to!
Hello! Do you have any advice for husbands who are concerned about the burnout that can come with homeschooling? My husband is almost 100% on board but is worried about the lack of “me time” for me and doesn’t want to add more things to my plate, I’m very aware of the pros and cons of homeschooling, how do I help him understand that this would be best for our family long run?
Show him! :) Ask for a trial run for you to show him what you’re made of. That’s what I did and now my husband is 1000% on board. You can always change things up as needed. But it’s certainly worth a try.
My question is, so what? (And I don’t mean that rudely). Parenting burns us out at times. Burn out while doing something doesn’t make it bad or not desirable. I’m not saying we shouldn’t take steps to avoid it… but there are many seasons in our lives when burn out is inevitable and we hit that “wall”. I’m 14+ years homeschooling and have had seasons of burn out. I wouldn’t change one thing. I would do it all over again. The nice thing is that your husband realizes it’s a very real reality for many homeschool moms, so maybe he can take steps to help alleviate your workload, see the signs of it coming, etc. You got this!
As fantastic and useful as this information is and as bad as we all wish we knew this stuff going into adulthood, is it really wise to have an entire year of math dedicated to things kids don't care about? This curriculum is necessary information for every young adult, and all good parents, of course, want their kids learning this stuff the easy way. However, might this be better spaced out over 3 or 4 years? Or maybe given as a graduation present?
I cannot imagine a student finishing with high school and then wanting to do a math curriculum for their graduation gift. Spreading it out over a longer timeframe sounds reasonable, and that's the beauty of homeschool. You don't have to follow a specific routine or formula!
Kids don’t care about what? Explain? Kids don’t care about a lot of things but we still teach it and expose it to them. I would argue my teens would find this math very interesting and would care about it very much. Also have you met a graduating teen? Please don’t give them another course for graduation. lol
I know the Good and the Beautiful is Christian. Right? Well I was wondering if their science things also had anything to do with religion, or are they secular?

Just ordered the Denison Algebra! It's really gaining traction
Agreed!
Agreed!! Denison algebra has been a game-changer for my oldest son!
my boys too!!! so thankful I heard about it 🔊🙌🏻
Wooow. Totally getting this next year for my 11th grader!
I honestly can’t believe I was able to get that consumer math for $29! What a steal!
Me too! Excited for it
Me too and it looks amazing! I'm so excited about it.
Does the consumer math count for 1 math credit?
Was it on sale? I’m seeing 49 now.
@@Fe4Christ - yes, when it was first released it was on sale for $29.

We bought Consumer Math when it was on sale, along with Thrive Health & Physical Education 🎉🎉 So excited to start these!
Do they have anything in the consumer math book about financing college? Student loans etc? That would be a great one

I ordered the Not Consumed Consumer Math a few days ago, and I'm even more excited to receive it now! Thank you for the flip-through 😊.
I love the look of the consumer math! looks like much needed really good stuff!!! 🧡
Wow, those G & B books are super cute! We've outgrown them, but I will be recommending those to other mamas with littles for sure!
Outstanding! The presentation is an A and the book can’t get any better👍👍👍🩷🌹🌹🌹

I am having trouble accessing your homeschool amazon storefront. When I click on the link given it does not work.
I wish there was a Canadian version of this course!!!! wow! amazing course!
What will you name the Consumer Math on their transcripts??
Love those activity books to add a younger student into a science unit!
In MD, I have to do science starting in kindergarten which makes little sense to me honestly. My daughter doesn't have much interest in it yet
Great information, thank you.
I have been looking at the Consumer Math but just not sure where you could fit it in during high school.
I love Not Consumed. What a great resource. My kids are little but my goodness, I could use the information for myself 😂

Have you ever used Miacademy? If so, do you have a video or review on it? Thank you 😊
Loved the Not Consumed math recommendation so much I just bought it 😂 thanks for always being so real with these videos and always giving the best recs ♥️
Thank you for this!
What are your favorite curriculums for a 5 year old starting out?
Can you buy all the books and do a review?! XD I want sooo many but want to see inside! 😂😂
Love that consumer math book! What age do you get your kids a debit card? Or do you guys stick to cash? I feel like it's harder to teach money skills now that we don't use cash like we used to!
I don’t have older kids so can these be done by as a stand alone ?
love those! i likt not consumed cause talks about inflation.

I get burnt out doing public school for the kids 😭
Yay! I needed something fun to watch today
I wonder would that consumer math work for a Canadian student? Hmmmmm
That Consumer Math looks amazing! Almost makes me wish I had a high school aged kid. Thank you Angela for the flip throughs! Great content 💜
That math looks awesome!
What grade/age do you feel the math is for ?
Can I order this consumer math for myself lol
Haha! I’m actually about to order it for myself! 😆 my kids are only 7 and 9 and I’m actually looking at purchasing it!
How is BB8 four already? You just got him! Lol😂

It's mormon, not Christian
