Don't worry about the amount of progress you make. You guys mean well, are doing things at your own rhythm and also have had to face big obstacles like the ongoing window situation. You've done great so far. Your vids are always nice and fun to watch. Keep up the good work 😊
Lime plastering is a horrible, messy job. You're doing great & kudos for doing it yourself. A trick is not to overwork the plaster when its drying & remember you can always lightly sand it with very fine grit sandpaper. Crossing my fingers for a positive result on the everlasting window debacle.
I can only imagine how frustrating the windows have been, I can't believe you are still going through that. Great progress and job of the plastering, you will be a professional at the end of your project no doubt. Greetings from Cape Town.👍❤️
Glad you've taught yourself a new skill. And nice to see the three pupketeers "helping" you. It's funny when you do the timelapse Rigatoni looks like a little rocket.
So glad you are enjoying the plaster work. It’s great to see results and so achieve gratification sooner rather than later! About the villa-I have been thinking that the floor plan follows the Roman villa style in that the central area with staircase could be a stand-in for the atrium or courtyard. It is a very pleasing design, and will certainly make a beautifully livable home.
Thank you! Im surprised how much I enjoyed it, every day I have felt, cant wait to get back in and continue. So true, I have never thought about that, I do love those sort of houses with a central courtyard in them.
Hello again! Hate to admit it but I hate plastering! I was going to recommend the damp sponges but you figured it out. I have a small 100 year old home in the city of St. Louis with lots of damage to the old plaster walls. Patients is the key to success with it. Its just a long process considering the dry time before moving on to sanding and the next coat. Good luck. Love to you, Anna and the fur babies ❤
Thank you! Yes I thought I would hate it too as I hate doing plasterboards and joints etc but this was something else, very satisfying work for some reason.
I watch videos of others who are doing major renovations and restorations, and without exception they have weeks when little progress has been made. They must wait for bureaucracy (permits, licenses), deliveries (windows, etc.), contractors (electricians, plumbers), supplies (paint, lumber), or sometimes their personal life gets in the way. You don't have to apologize to us! For a beginner, you should be pleased with your plastering. The important test will be when you put your first coat of paint on the walls!
Great work on the plaster! If the doggies aren't exactly helpers, at least they provide comic relief. The seismic work sounds like another massive project -- you are so brave.
Well yes, we have to do it as they added an extension to the kitchen in the 50's which basically pulled the whole house apart as they built it without a decent foundation.
I have to give a heart felt thank you. Well maybe that's not the right words I'm looking for. I've watched your channel from the beginning. I give you credit even though there have been long lapses between video's . This is not your thing my friend. It's a big project to DIY by yourself without any knowledge of any trade that is involve in the building industry. Obvious that you have done well for yourself and this is just a rouse to kill time and show your beautiful self to schumcks around the world. Touche' well done! So if I had to guess you and your lovely have a beautiful villa very close by scheming your next video. Peace😊
Hahaha! Im sure there would be better ways than trying to restore a house, I should have just made a cooking channel instead! Very soon there will be some skills arriving and fun projects will commence!
When I moved into my house 26 years ago, not one of the 12 interior doors had the same style handle. Within the first month, my ex replaced all the handles. It was driving both of us crazy. I don’t even want to talk about the painted door hinges and random electrical outlet covers.
Haha! 😝 If I could choose I would love to have the whole coming year packed with things to do but we are unfortunately a bit limited to what we can do, time will tell!
You have a lot of frescoes on the ceilings. How are you going to work on them? Are you gonna do it yourself as well? And do you need some sort of permission to work on them in general?)
No we are just going to paint up to the border of them so about a feet below the ceiling, the frescos themself are going to be restored by someone who know what they are doing, we might clean them ourself after having got a lesson from our restorer who said it's labor intensive but not very difficult and she will show us how to do it. Not going to happen anytime soon though as we have a lot of dusty work to do inside the house before that. Nothing on our house is covered by "protezione belle arti" yet so we could basically paint over everything and destroy the whole hosue if we would like, which unfortunately is happening all over Italy.
There might be episodes like that, but probably not. I try to explain what I am doing and our ideas not just show time lapses. But you can always just fast forward through the chit chat if you'd like.

It's just very frustrating not to be able to do exactly what we feel would be the best to make progress.

Yes exactly, whatever happens I can always sand it down but I am really enjoying the work!
The sponge float/smooth will get you a seemless transition. Trial and error on timing and pressure/wetness
@@CUBuffnSD Yes I have noticed that it's important to time it right not causing a mess by working it to early!

Henrik, I love your puppies making sure you did everything correctly. Henrik you did a very good job lime plastering the walls. I love the doors.
Thank you for your very kind words!
Your home has beautiful features.
Thank you!

Yes, we will also put a primer with a bit of texture in it so that we can blend in the imperfections on the older parts of the walls.
Lots of work involved there but it is looking a lot better already 😊
Thank you!

😊
Thank you for watching Tony!
Nice work!
Thank you!
Major plaster work getting done👍
Yes finally!
When is your Dad coming back to help? Miss him.
Yes he is missed here! I think he will be back in the spring.
Thanks
Thank you so much!
It's very much appreciated!!
👍👍👍
Thank you for watching!
Done right, that house is stunning. If it doesn't kill you before you finish.
Haha, sometimes if feels like it might just do that!

@@VillaAroldi oh, you cook?
@@TAG993 Haha, well it was just an example, I do cook but I would probably do a automotive channel if I had the freedom of choice.

Things are going to change for the coming year, or at least for the next few weeks.

I like your dog tony
Yes so do I, he is such a special dog
Your Dachsy doesn't seem to have much confidence in you LOL
Haha, he was so bored in there, wanted to go back into the warmth of his bed!
Like.
Thanks for the visit!
Henrick!.....remember!!!!.....Rome wasn't built in a day!😂😂😂......slow cooking always turns out better!🙏💪

A cuss word counter would have been funny, especially when you use farm animal sounds each time.

Good job, Henrik but please, don't swing that camera like that. Wow! That was quite a trip. 🙃

Video is great but the music sucks.
Im glad you like the video, after having done this for 2 years I know I can't please everyone with the music, maybe you'll like it better next time!
The music is ethereal & beautiful & suits the old Italian villa.
