Hi Connie, I have a question about Spencerian script: do you have to use the sliding movement that is demonstrated here and explained in the Spencerian manual? I suffer from a sweating disorder which prevents me from being able to glide over the paper like this. Thank you and I thank you as well for the guidance you have given in your videos.

The way I am doing Spencerian, though I am still learning and my writing still needs MUCH practice is having the forearm lifted even when writing the lowercase letters. The only finger that is touching the paper is my pinky and that is sliding, not staying idle. Do not fret over your condition. If Handless penman, Ryan can do it, so can you. Find the way, and train your arm due to repetitious muscle memory to produce beautiful letters. You can do it.
