If you’re opposed to the stencils method you can use a cheap laundry bag with a net pattern to get the hex pattern It’s how airsofters and model painters get a similar snakeskin/ hex pattern on their surfaces Kinda useless for the second step of the actual invisible portion of the cape though
Thats a good idea actually ! Should work awesome for flat areas on models Although the bag method may end up looking fuzzy/faded in the deep recesses on the capes without being able to stick to the model itself
@@PelicanPaintingironically, if you’re gunning for realism, you want the faded look. Camo is meant to help you blend in, and the hard edges do the opposite. It’s why the effective patterns weren’t ones with hard edges, but faded splotch tones Of course, this is all before the advent of thermal and night vision, and modern camouflage practices take this into account
Danouttadan tutorial. Some excellent work here and really well shown and explained. Keep up with the quality and you'll definitely grow. Was here under 1k subscribers, just mental notes. Cheers
Thanks so much man ! Gotta say i’m not the first person on earth to try and do a transforming cloak ! Although i dont think anybody has used this stencil method before as far as i’m aware !
Hi this guide is great. I want to ask for your opinion. Im thinking of painting my small figure like instead of matching the color of the terrain, i just want it like WHITE, like going invisible. or if you look at clear resin, the color tone of clear resin. will it be possible? thanks.
If your capes were a different color, above the cloaking line. Let’s say green. Would you still have used a blue energy effect? Or would you have used a green?
Ohh thats a good question actually ! To be honest i only chose blue to have that kind of “electric energy” look But i guess it would work any colour at all Yellow or orange energy could look good with a green possibly ?
Are you thinking of doing these on salamanders ? As i also did a salamander tutorial where i showed a orange glow effect against the green Looked pretty good together
