I love the suspense of "omg, what's the difference between these two animals! I can't recall which has a tiny dangly protrusion at the back of the skull!" Meawhile lions are literally three times the size of leopards.
I can’t emphasize how helpful these videos are for my mammalogy lab! My professor is very knowledgeable yet very dry, so this has been a great way to learn how to ID skulls!
Stubby snout, huge canines? Knew from the thumbnail this was a big cat. And when your hands entered the frame and the size of the thing was revealed it was instantly narrowed down to either a lion or a tiger. Uganda? Lion. Easy. Seven seconds. And I know you got it that quickly too, being a dead animal specialist. Nice acting :)
Holy crap, I got it at 107. So having been an artist for over 25 years, I have been working on my construction and deconstruction skills for a VERY long time. In order to draw anatomy well, yoy have to be able to see through things sometimes, to their base construction. Likewise, you can see something like a skull and based on the shapes, you can sometimes to often guess with some quite impressive accuracy whay specimen it came from. So I really like this game. I have only been able to correctly deduce 2 of the animals, but they were both animals I would have guessed without your verbal deconstruction. Whe you were talking about it being a carnivore, I was already going through my catalogue of African animals with super canines. When you said "bear or hyena" I was beginning to second guess myself but didn't knownof any african bears off hand, and knew it wasn't canine enough to be a hyena. That said, it tripped me up as many car skulls are even less canine looking than this one. I just knew it didn't seem long enough to me to be in that family. That all said, I don't mean to imply in any way that I think I'm at all better than anyone at this. I'm excited mostly because I didn't think I would ever get any of them lol. So I'm just really excited and impressed with myself haha. Edit: I knew also that it wasn't the other cat breeds because the triangular prism like top of it's head is that way to allow for big meaty head muscles the likes of which give Lions their massive squishy, cuddly looking heads.
@@Sai-wc9xk lol oh wow, that's nothing haha. I'm kinda notorous for writing waaay too much, and the overshare is unreal. I just forget I'm not just telling a friend something, and kinda ramble on.
I'm not a expert like you, I'm just an artist, but I LOVE big cats and have studies their features a lot to be able to draw them properly. So I knew almost instantly it was a Lion when you said it comes from Africa! 🦁💖 However, I did question myself for a few seconds when you mentioned Leopards (I forgot they lived in Africa for a second there lol 😅) But I noticed that that skull looks too big for a Leopard, and the canines are too thick/wide compared to those of a Leopard. 😋 And I ruled out the Cheetah right away, even before you said "Africa", because they have very small skull that are much more rounded in shape to be more aerodynamic! 😁🐆
i remember wanting to study extinct animals and animal skeletons when i was younger. during the first few seconds on the lion skull i knew it right away
I’ve been meaning to find where it all began. Man you have a lot more trouble than the shorts indicate. Good to know. Of course some things are intuitive, or you can take a good guess.
the leopard possibility got me sweating. My deduction was: from africa > eye sockets position > skull looks cat like (teeth, snout) > slope on the top of the head > (then it was just 50/50 chance heh) > panthera leo?
As a person that doesnt know much about animals but for some reason i watched the lion king live action 4 times and watch national geographic 24/7 when i was a kid i guessed its a lion the shape of the skull seemed like a lion, the curve on the cheek and the eye seemed like a lion so i guessed at 1:57
Not sure of the time, but as soon as you said Africa, I guessed lion because of the size and cat. I think it would’ve been better if it had been from India, so you’d have to figure out if it was a lion or a tiger skull lol.
me dosent care just guessed Me : Lion Him : Explaining Me : ...... Him : its a lion Me : yeah you can already see by the skull Him : omg i was right Me : ….. Bruh
instantly just from the shape and size I could tell it was a very large big cat, either a lion, tiger, or leopard from size alone, the minute he said Africa and after gauging the size again it was obvious that it was a lion.
paused at 0:37 I'm gonna say it's a lion for the skull it too large for a cheetah. kinda forgot they had leopards in africa just shows how sneaky they could be.
The slope of the top of the head gave it away straight away, but I love the deductive journey and learning about structures

love the vid, wish more people from tiktok would come to watch the vids on youtube
legit
Same, sad there's not more likes
Damn this was really fun, guessed correctly immediately after seeing the teeth thanks to my cat's teeth lol
Same
yeah i already knew this skull, Charlie just wanted to make it specific.
Him: freaking out trying to find out what it is
Me: lion
Ong I literally figured it out the second the video started
As soon as he said West Uganda I thought White Lion.
Me too
I think he knew immediately so. Maybe he’s just doing it for the vid.
@@PatandSponge He knew because he put the sticker over the nametag.
I think this is one of my favorite forms of edutainment yet. Your deduction process for figuring out the species was really fun to listen to :)

Well it's normal you don't know any African bears since there are no (living) African bears. 😂
Saw the thumbnail and knew! I'd love to see some in depth looks at markings on the bones though
I really liked this style of video keep them coming
coolest things I`ve ever seen on the internet so far. Keep it up!!!!
Ain't that a fish?
It is crazy how you know all this stuff! Well done.
got it as soon as i saw the thumbnail, i love my skulls!
"This little hook right there is called a sh*t"

I like this keep it up my mans
Nice! I took one look at those teeth and knew it was a lion. Favorite animal!
Me just sipping some tea at my kitchen table and just quietly watching him freak out
Love these videos dude💯👊🧙♂️
Bro, this guy has teach me more than school when it comes to animals
We need more episodes like this
i remember wanting to study extinct animals and animal skeletons when i was younger. during the first few seconds on the lion skull i knew it right away
I love how he’s acting like his life depends on it
I’ve been meaning to find where it all began. Man you have a lot more trouble than the shorts indicate. Good to know. Of course some things are intuitive, or you can take a good guess.
I think that might be a fish 🐟

I have a marketing major, so no, I didn't get that. But wow that was amazing and I learned so much!!!
Knew it from the thumbnail but I’m a lion nerd, fun video!
No joke when you said Africa Then in 43 seconds I was like lion!!
I’m guessing a baboon or a large cat
It was enough to see the size of the skull and hear Africa 😅
Pretty much, it could only be a lion or tiger based on size
I love how he's swearing the whole time LMAO 🤣
I got that in the first 10 seconds probably because I’ve been studying animals since I was like two
To me, it was the Size and the shape of the skull that got me. I just imagined what the muscluature would be like, and I thought correctly, it seems.
i got it after maybe 3 seconds! i'm pretty proud of that lmao!! this video was super fun!
I knew it was as soon as you said Africa, which I think rules out bears.
I initially guessed tiger until you said he’s from Africa, then I knew you had a lion skull.
Finally bro didn't say *i think it's a fish*
Finally he didn't said fish
i figured it out at 26 seconds, didn't know about the slope on the top of the head which was cool to learn
The one benefit of having been playing lioden so much recently
As soon as I saw Africa I figured in as a lion or a hyena
This is a rare sighting, he didnt guess a fish
I figured it out on the part where you said that it could be a cheetah lion or a hyena I think
From first glance I could tell it was a big cat. From Africa? Definitely a lion.
I guessed it quick. I saw those cheek bone and just knew. My question is, is it a female or male?
the point isn't really the speedrun though, it's to teach people how to identify the animal.
This is the real deal
I immediately thought it was a cat, but I only guessed lion later on
You can tell by the overall shape and size, had it in the first 10 seconds. Or maybe I just look at way too many skulls
When you showed the front my brain went for lion
I knew it was a lion the second I saw the skull shape, this is probably the only time owning a lot of animal skulls will pay off.
I knew it as soon as I saw the skull
I'd tell you he does a lot better job at identifying skulls when he is not freaking out because of the timer.
I don’t know much about skulls and I knew right off the bat that it was a big cat.
Tbh when seeing the scul from the top lion was the first thing i thought about.
I miss the moment where he said "I think it's a fish".
"Lets freeeggin gooo!"
I guessed lion instantly purely based on the size and the size of the canines
Me who jockingly said lion when he said it's from Africa:
Yes, this is big brain time
As a person that doesnt know much about animals but for some reason i watched the lion king live action 4 times and watch national geographic 24/7 when i was a kid i guessed its a lion the shape of the skull seemed like a lion, the curve on the cheek and the eye seemed like a lion so i guessed at 1:57
Leo is actually my name at 3:11 it reveals it was a Panthena leo
The moment you said africa I knew it was a lion
Only carnivore mammal from africa I remembered
Took me about 7 seconds once you said Africa since I knew it had to be either a lion are a tiger.
Finally i found a video where he says its not a fish ❤😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I was legit thinking leopard.
I got it immediately before the video even started
30 seconds , the moment Uganda was mentioned I knew it was a lion ,the sagital crest and size gave it away.
2:31 panthera leo
Not sure of the time, but as soon as you said Africa, I guessed lion because of the size and cat. I think it would’ve been better if it had been from India, so you’d have to figure out if it was a lion or a tiger skull lol.
i got it wrong immediately, i thought it was a fish
As soon as it said Africa i was like: this must be a lion
Lol I thought it was a Hippopotamus.
Not even near the right answer :)
Fool! I have guessed the skull at the moment seeing it. I have beaten you hahaha
Nice vid though
0:03 Panthera leo
Instant answer was a leopard, pretty pleased to get to the last two on intuition alone
I got it right first try bc i have cats and watch a lot of documentaries ! :)
I knew it was a lion after watching that lion queen movie
You use science to identify skulls. Just go off the vibe it gives
I literally guessed it immediately
Me who guessed by just hint and and the appearance :
✨Signature look of superiority 🗿✨
As soon as I saw the teeth I said lion
I knew it was a lion at the beginning of the video, here's how:
I once searched lion skulls 😅🦁
I got at the beginning no way!!
I unironically got it at 0:00:18 or something like that.
Edit: that isn't supposed to be a timestamp.
Clock doesn't stop until you make the actual guess and really should start s soon as the skull is visible. Maybe start with it covered
The second you said Africa I thought it was a lion
I knew it was a cat within seconds lol
...how did i guess that from the start, while this smart person has been struggling tryna figure it out
I've already gotten the answer a lion? But ok u did something even complexer damyum
me dosent care just guessed
Me : Lion
Him : Explaining
Me : ......
Him : its a lion
Me : yeah you can already see by the skull
Him : omg i was right
Me : ….. Bruh
when i saw the skull i literally said out loud "lion" i didn´t even started to watvh the video
I knew it was a big cat skull the moment I saw it and when he mentioned West Uganda I knew it was either a lion🦁🦁🦁🦁🦁 or leopard🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆
I got it as soon as the time stared since I saw one not long before watching it
i knew it was a lion almost immediately, but it’s fun to learn the steps of identifying it anyways.
instantly just from the shape and size I could tell it was a very large big cat, either a lion, tiger, or leopard from size alone, the minute he said Africa and after gauging the size again it was obvious that it was a lion.
paused at 0:37 I'm gonna say it's a lion for the skull it too large for a cheetah.
kinda forgot they had leopards in africa just shows how sneaky they could be.
Literally got it by the tumbnail
Lion.
The king of the jungle himself.
This little hook right there is called:sh*t
epic swaggy
