That looks like a giant pain to use. Very glad I went with the OMV. Simple to use, compact and locks in tight. There is a reason the OMV is the one you see in bow shops.

Got a good laugh on this one. You have these on all your work stations now??? Lol… I’ll give you props for being so patient with that thing. Cant say I would have wrestled that vise around as much as you… I’d end up aggressively throwing it into a dumpster.

I'd really like MFJJ to use the vice for a few weeks and then do a follow-up review. The pivot arm tension can be adjusted tighter which also makes it tougher to through over into the locked position but it does help. It takes some time getting used to and once you know where the notches in the two end pieces are located and how to use them you can get the vice pretty close to the bench. Also, depending on how you mount the vice it can be neatly tucked under the bench out of the way and ready for use anytime. Levelling, well, yah, that's gonna take some practice and patience. Also, paying attention to where you place the clamp on the limbs makes a difference for the orientation of the bow too. Perfect vice? No, is there one? I think each one has strengths and weaknesses.

if you want an easy DIY bow vise: just use an old stabilizer rod (works best with a quick-disconnect), a block (could be wood) you can clamp or bolt to a work bench, drill a hole with the diameter of the stabilizer rod, a bolt for clamping the rod in the block and voila .... if you get the angle of the hole right the bow will be levelled every time you slide the bow with the rod in the hole......
Eta: if the thickness of your work bench allows it you can drill a horizontal hole straight into it...

Thanks for the review. I'll stick with my OMP. I really love your reviews, but I especially like your vid's on improving your archery performance. Love to see more about improving your shot process (the baby bird vids)

It’s not a difficult vise to use and if you don’t just clamp it down it doesn’t move at all. It’s a great vise, I like mine

Appreciate the review but I think I’m gonna stick with my OMP.
Totally unrelated, what’s the make and model on those lights? Are they battery operated or rechargeable? Be nice to have one of those in camp.

Looks like they tried to salvage the bow & camera arms..... This might work best mounted on a truck tailgate or ATV in the field.... Too flimsy for countertop but might have better luck mounting it from the ceiling

Big fan of the channel and all the Elk Shape crew but with him being a bow tech this review looks really bad on him. Blindly opened the box, didn’t read instructions and then complained about the product.
No I don’t own this vise so I have no reason to defend it. Common sense would be to learn about the product before doing a “review”.
I guess common sense isn’t so common anymore!

Haha, well that thing isn’t exactly cheap either! One thing you know for sure is, if it comes from LCA, it will be over-priced but most likely a good product…..I guess that’s actually 2 things.
