To answer your question: I’ve seen enough of Tua in four years. I’m not giving him a fifth year because that would feel like a Ryan Tannehill situation to me. Heck, CJ Stroud has shown more in his rookie year than Tua has shown in his entire career. We need to move on from him.

McDaniels is a horrible play caller. Next season they need to hire an offensive coordinator who knows what he's doing. Take away play calling from McDaniels. The team also needs a QB who can compete against Tua. These are changes I would like to see next season.

Honestly Doug I’ve just about had it with tua, the injuries, the failing in big games, the faltering when pressure gets in his face, the interceptions, the immobility, there’s so many reasons to get rid of him, I think if something doesn’t click with him then we cut him, the offense is there, the crown jewel is definitely missing. I’m so tired of being a mediocre to slightly above average team.

I think Tua and McDaniel are to blame. McDaniel has to be the worst play caller I’ve ever seen. And Tua has lost his edge. No moxy. He plays scared like he doesn’t want to get hurt which is understandable but looks to me like he didn’t want to get hurt so he could lengthen his career but he does look like a guy who will lead you to the promised land unfortunately and I really like him but don’t think he has the IT factor . Can’t pay him.
McDaniel needs an offensive coach. He’s stubborn and doesn’t feel the game right. His team mirrors his “cool” coach but there’s no discipline and he’s hurting the team.
Honestly and I really like McDaniel as a person….i would take Vrabel for the win.

I really enjoy your show. You always add a comical twist. We phins fans need that.
Been a phins fan since my first game in 1976. So I am used to this. Seen this movie before. I KNEW it would happen even if I secretly hoped for a playoff win.
2 things that haven’t been mentioned in the media at all as far as I can see. First, January 13th, yesterday, marked the 50th anniversary of the Dolphins last Super Bowl victory. We celebrated in style! In a stats obsessed culture incredible that I didn’t hear this mentioned repeatedly.Maybe I missed it.
Secondly, and most importantly Tua’s thumb injury is never mentioned. He mentions in hard knocks that it was blue after the Raven’s game. It’s obvious he cannot grip the ball properly. If you have ever played with a thumb sprain , you would know how nagging they are. well they just never heal! And it effects you just enough.
If you look at the film breakdown that was done here on this channel on the Bills , it keeps coming back to that Tua is a little off. Off just enough to eradicate 3-4 explosive plays. My theory: he cannot fully grip the ball. In -7 it was impossible. Look at the interception. He doesn’t over throw like that at any point in the season. Look at the shotput pass to Mostert and countless other high throws. He cannot grip it.
My theory is the game plan for McDaniel was to avoid down the middle longer range passes because he knew Tua was handicapped by the injury.
So no one wants to hear injury excuses, so we won’t make them. The question becomes “why all the injuries?” Well because the Dolphins are cursed. Not as bad as the Jets, but cursed nevertheless. And I move on….
    So what do you think?

We've seen enough of Tua to know what his ceiling is. When EVERYTHING goes PERFECTLY on offense, he's great. When ANYTHING gos wrong, becomes Zach Wilson. He chooses who he is throwing to before the snap, and cannot improvise of move the pocket to extend plays. That is why several defensive players have come out and said they figured him out. Things get really tough when the defense knows what you're about to do. I've supported Tua since day 1 and really wanted him to succeed, but he just doesn't have what it takes to be a franchise QB. He’s brilliant but there’s more to being a HC than x’snamd o’s. This game was no different than the Bills game in Miami. The only difference is Mahomes didn’t fumble or throw 2 ugly INTs and their RB didn’t drip a TD pass. That’s literally the only difference. The bills literally drive the field allll night. Controlled the ball and missed out on a minimum of 16 points. The offense was healthy and they were somehow worst than they were at home for the division. The AFC is literally rooting for the Dolphins to pay Tua 50+ mil per year.

The problem is who do we move on from him too, can’t put it all on him. The play calling was awful. The run blocking was awful. The pass blocking was decent but Tua was still getting the ball out of his hands under 3 seconds. We don’t have a reliable tight end. McDaniel, after two full seasons, still can’t get a god damn play out. Who do you want to make a change to, Russel Wilson? Tua was AWFUL the last 3 games but we don’t have any other options and he’s still the best guy we’ve had since Marino. Getting Tua two top receivers and two lineman that’ll play half a season a piece is not building around a quarterback. Tua was very much a part of the issue but he can’t be the scapegoat here. But when the games were on the line, especially in the 4th quarter, Tua rarely became that hero to bring the team back. My conclusion is that Tua does not perform well under pressure; there is no killer instinct, and therefore, he does not deserve a big contract extension. From a Bill's fan here. I followed Miami very closely this year, and Tua is an exceptional quarterback when everything is perfect when he doesn't get pressure- elite with accuracy. Tyree of course is the best player on the team (best receiver in league imo), and he can always get open. In my opinion, there is way too much finesse on the team, and they lack smash mouth ability. They need to get bigger next year, with a couple of good size tight ends. If pressure gets to Tua, he underperforms. He needs to get that ball out quickly. I hope we don't see a repeat performance next year relying on the current strategy. The Dolphins need to bring in some size, and learn some clock management. Best of luck.

I feel completely differently about that game than anyone else seems to. I don’t think the defense did 💩 to keep us in the game. I think KC offense shooting itself in the foot multiple times per drive until they killed their own drives in the red zone and the penalties, and either poorly thrown balls or straight up drops. Tua and Mahomes had almost identical days as passers, and Tua was the teams best running back. If that is ever the case, you’ve screwed up your offensive game plan and you’re making your play calling so stupidly predictable that it’s harder for the defense to guess wrong than it is to make the plays to kill the drives. Tua did just about all he could do. He went hero on 4th downs multiple times to make up for the fact that the first 3 downs were no good or, got wasted by the 3rd down execution multiple times in a row, on the same drive. It just was horrible. Tua converted more first downs scrambling with his legs than the rest of the offense converted with running or passing the ball.

Also amazed how many injuries there are on a yearly basis. You'd be hard-pressed to find a fan-base that suffers more than Dolphin's fans. If I could I'd like a different team, but maybe I'm cursed too.

The pass rush is what Vic Fangio had no option. 4 doesn’t get home and all out? The good QBs have the outlet figured out ahead of time. Yesterday, the pass rush couldn’t do it. Defense played hard but we were missing too many pieces. I expect Vic is going to change makeup - the draft will be heavy on defense.

In those conditions you have to be able to change for play calling...outside runs are much harder due to the field condition, run straight up the middle. You cant get tricky on a frozen field.
Im upset on how this season ended on such a bad note but...I am happy this team has at least made the playoffs 2 years in a row now but lots to improve on this offseason and hopefully Oline is a priority

Dougie this is so easy to see what is wrong with Miami and Real good defenses. We are the only team in the NFL with two 5'7'' or 5'6'' Wr1 and WR2. The other problem is the coach. Tua also has a problem but the coach is the cause of it also. I will start with the latter. You have seen for two years now how problematic all the motions and complication of the offense is. A qb has to have time to read the Blitzers and point them out in order to call out a line adjustment to the left or right and to point them out for the RB and wide receivers. McDaniel has almost no plan or plays for the Hot. KC is example. Not a single receivers would run to the area vacated by the Blitz. Not a slant. Not a TE. Not a Rb going the area vacated. Because of the motion and Tua has pointed it out. He has no time to adjust the play. Change the play or even point out the Blitzers. It is sick and sad, McDaniel answer is to just sling it out to the right or a stupid WR screen that gets blown up instead of a route to were the Blitz vacated. Look at the Buffalo game and KC. Every time we would Blitz Buffalo would throw to the TE where the LB vacated. Look at Mahome's he would do the same. Tua only deficit now is learning if is given time by the coach to call out a hot route and adjust the line presnap. McDaniel failed miserable at this. The reason for so much motion is to confuse because you have deficit at RB, TE and short receivers who get jammed. If Miami played Pro Style . Mostert would accomplish nothing. Tyreek would never be getting open as much for being jammed. Tyreek need running starts and trickery to prevent his size from being a liability. We have to make a decision on whether Tyreek or Waddle goes. We have to have a WR1 or WR2 with size as well as speed. They just knock the corners out of the way without disruption to the route. KC let Tyreek go because in the Big games he was always a no show. He would get pushed around like a baby. Tyreek and Waddles size has been exposed as well as Mcdaniel plays taking to long for adjustments for what Tua is seeing pre snap. Tua has said for two years he has no time to hardly finish the motions let alone call out adjustment. There is your answers Culler. It is casual to just blame the Qb. Tua needs the ability to read and adjust. That is why Brady was so good. He would read and call out adjustment or switch the the alternate play for the HOT. This is all on the coach and Tua for not "when he has time" to read call out line adjustment, point out the hot. We just played a whole game without a single slant to the vacated spot the LB left. Sad

think hard before jettisoning Tua. remember how long Shula kept.Marino around hoping to reignite the magic. i think the core of the team is there. a little magic a little cohesion building all fighting for the same goal and the phins could be feared again

No contract for Tua, and I’m having a sit down with McDaniels about his play calling . The one thing I can’t get over is how many weapons we have on offense but how many points we’ve acored in December ??? When it counts! To many high priced players on offense not performing up to their contracts in my opinion

I think we should give Tua one more year to see if he can win a playoff game!!!!! McDaniel should be on the hot seat for next season!!!!!
