Not Raven releasing a video praising Anniversary update and telling people to play the limited event after the limited event is over 😂 But yeah, this video sums this year up nicely! 2023 feels like a complete 180 from 2022 in regards to the update quality, and I'm all here for it. The new partner program is great, and Anniversary was one of the best updates in years! But, there's no denying how rough ranked has been. abukhalid for the first half of the year, and now the multitude of cheaters and spray crashers in this part of the year. At least it seems like the spray crash has been fixed, but that still leaves aim botters, drop hackers, etc. I was excited for crossplay ranked, and I still think it has potential, but it needs a lot more QoL before it can finally be good. The most important feature to add is an input icon for every player on both teams, visible in the draft. That way, I know whether I need to ban talus and koga, or vatu and bk. The fourth ban was good, but it needs to be at the start of the match, and not in the middle. Having it in the middle doesn't fix anything, because teams will just save what's op before that middle ban arrives. And obviously, PC aim assist is too strong! I've experienced this first-hand when I tried to play on controller with no experience, and ended up dominating lobbies with Koga after about 10 hours of experience. I've stopped playing ranked for now until these issues are addressed, but I think crossplay has hope in the long-term. Like most Hi-Rez features, crossplay is bad on release, but will be good after a few updates. Ignoring ranked though, this year has been incredible for the average player. Payload is back, Siege Remixed was incredible, Nyx is an amazing and fun new tank, and Omen is also fun (albeit buggy like all new champions). We also can't forget the little changes that make a big difference, like the increased air strafing buff we got at the start of the year. Plus, we got some amazing and fun new talents like Royal Subjects and Dark Stalker! I'm excited to see where the game goes from here. 2023 is the first time in a very long time that I've felt excited for Paladins' future, and I hope EM doesn't mess this up.
@AndrewChicken if they would have just dropped the mode entirely after bringing it back, I would have been absolutely devastated. I only play payload 99.9% of my matches since it was a weekend LTM. Hate to see it get rotated out, EDIT: also in terms of balance the actual "balance" that came out of their caut changes amounted to next to nothing sadly since the max caut still ends up being around 60% which was the main issue given how overpowered double support is and how in payload 2 supports is the hard meta. Also allows you to play people like yagorath and not be punished because reduced caut.
I’ve put about 13 hours in it so far, but it feels like more than that to me lmao. I play this morning, afternoon and night. I can’t stop playing. I may sound insane, but I like it way better than OW 2.

They should do a big bugfix, convinience, and lore update instead of a new champ or map. And give it a good name. Keep balance the game like the last 3 updates. Sure, a few missed but constantly getting better! Show champ what u want to pick in rank. no lock, just that the team see what u want to pick. Maby sprays or emotes for draft, (Typing ist to slow for some and most people dont wanna talk, and we all know why so accept it mojo!) Costum vgs. Highlight. (just casual mby?) Killcam. Real good Gamestats in game, maybe? (A official app with more info of the game?) That's what people expect from a game like this. I hope that paladins gets its game fixed bc it's the only game that's anywhere like this. Every opponent is different. It's the only competitive fist person with nearly infinite possibilities. Yesterday i downloaded paladins again, after not playing it for 2 years. First of all: i spent 2 hours fixing the issues with launching the game. Then, i spend another 3 hours trying to join at least 1 game, but i got kicked out of them all the time. Then, i spent another hour, trying to fix this issue, and after i was done, steam said "Hold on, let me reverse all the things you've done, so you won't be able to play it" . ._. Trully a legendary game. It's kind of sad, looking at paladins now, and remembering, that it was better then overwatch...
it’s crazy seeing people with as many problems as they do as a person who has played Paladins for 4 years i’ve only crashed a total of 5 times and have never had a game breaking bug happen to me personally, idk if i’m lucky or just blessed
for any new player looking to try the game... the cheaters are not gonna be an issue for you. it looks bad, but they rarely cheat in casuals and mostly in high elo. since your elo will be low, cuz you're new, you don't have to worry about it. saying this as someone with 800 hours in the game and I've found two cheaters in casuals. but like he said, that'll happen in any game. do pls play the game, pls, and help us fix matchmaking pls and thank you

Looks like you didn't run into the Omen grip bug. If your omen grips enemy and they escape using movement ability you are stuck in grip animation till you die or commit seppuku by jumping off map 😅
So that why that inara seemed to never die , I unloaded 4 mags of Betty's granede launcher 2 hails of bombs and 4 cluster nades into her she didn't die , I though maybe their reí had a super strong envelop build and Inara had some super dmg reduction

I played Paladins for like 2 years and around the time Overwatch 2 came out, I started to get really burnt out of it. Even with the given state of OW, I enjoy it more than Paladins and I've met more fun people this way. Most of the issues people point out on Overwatch, I don't care too much about as a new player, I just liked something fresh. However, It's always good to know if ever OW servers get closed down, I have a home back in Paladins. ❤
I think i might be the luckiest person in the world since I don't experience almost and issues in Paladins at all. I know the issues are there, but its crazy that I never get them and my experience is perfectly smooth. The only bugs I get is a no reg rarely and a the ui locking you in reward received page.

The switch teams bug has been around for a while, but it working OUTSIDE custom games is a first. It saddens me to know it might get removed everywhere now. i have fond memories of this bug. Almost as funny as the dredge + hammer server crashing bug, but that one obviously had to go and i'm glad it didn't make it outside of public test servers.
If you're gonna recommend the game to people I think you should tell them about the PC fix where you need to change 64 into 32 in a notes doc. Unless they finally fixed that.
Paladins besto game, i have been playing it since it was in beta, but yeah, sometimes you just wanna hit that unistall button, but the game its too much fun to give up that easy
I've recently switched to paladins from playing competitive overwatch 2 and I gotta say this is the most fun I've had since OG overwatch. I just uninstalled OW2 a few days ago because of how frustrating and sweaty the game is and unbalanced it is I just couldn't take it anymore so I switched to paladins. I really recommend switching to paladins it might take a while to get the hang of how the champions work but the process is fun to learn. Some might disagree with me about paladins but I haven't found myself being very frustrated in any games.
Tried this game a couple times over the past couple years, and have like 50 or so hours on it but it ALWAYS feels unfinished. Odd texture problems, audio problems and overall jankiness. The devs dont give a shit to fix anything but it's sad because it's pretty fun
I've been playing paladin's since lunch, and I've been noticing a huge surge of new players. My only concern is since all the new players from OverWatch coming I'm noticing a lot more toxic players, and I always hated whenever I play these games no one talked about all the toxic players start coming in and ruining the fun because the game got trendy
She's very fun and also viable now this patch. I one tricked her to master's this ranked season, and there is a way to fix 'most' bugs that occur on her to make your play more consistent. The no dmg inferno cannon. (Cancel your inferno cannon) No instacast from max mana. (Happens randomly, no fix other than dying) Firing very fast on ice stance that does no dmg or continually failing to charge fireball. Happens randomly on respawn. (Do damage with an ability, either frost bomb or inferno cannon, and you can shoot again) Fps drop on fireball charge. (Reset your game when it starts dropping too much between matches, this mitigates the issue) Bindings reset on dragon when killed. (Be aware this can happen and quickly fix your bindings) Anyway I hope this can help with your continued enjoyment of Imani! Good luck dragon calling!
I have not touched this game since the dreaded OB64, but then again, I quit OW during the Brig meta and dropped my hopium once the OW2 stuff came out. I'm still not gonna touch these 2 games again, but it's funny that Paladins is making a come back after years of being budget OW.

Honestly, and I know people won't like this, but this game needs a Paladins 2. This game is the most Unreal engine game I have ever been graced with playing. For those who don't know, unreal engine is a bit, finicky, especially on PC. I think a lot of the bugs in the game would be solved with a move to a better engine system than using Unreal and fucking Autocad for models (which honestly blows my mind). This would make all the bug fixing overall so much easier and may solve some of them just for swapping. The issue is will EM actually take the time and money to move everything over to a Unity or something more modern; probably not.
I remember playing this game when it was still pretty new. I picked sha lin and after a while my frames just fucked off. I came back a few years later and the same issue is still there. Meh
I really love paladins, but it is so frustrating that they don't fix bugs like the code redeem, they don't allow to watch the free chest quest and other things like that.
Good video. I just started plaything this game. I'm glad they don't have play of the game because games that highlight individual achievements ruin teamwork and community effort. Nobody wants to work as a team to win a game if there is any other reward. I think stats should be removed from games also.
Simple answer to the question: Yes. At this point, it's either TF2 or Paladins, and Hi-Rez are at least trying to improve the game, bringing actual stuff like fun champs and cooler skins (mostly) that are way better than the best OW skins by light years. I have been playing it for a long time ( 2017 - 2023 ), the thing is that there is about a 50% chance that you will get some " toxic player " in your casual games, that I wouldn't let you play the way you play, try cards, new ways of playing, etc.
Me, like you, am a very old paladins player, since 2016. Basically now I play it more because of the friends and affinity with the game than for the actual fun at all. Hirez made a new game some months ago, that I liked very much: Dko. And I was pretty good at it, I used to play all days with Bees in official live streaming, since they stop to make official streamers play the game and give up on it. Basically a month ago I tried Smite and wtf Hirez invested a lot of money on it... Just for skins they have Transformer skins, teenage mutant ninja turtles skins, Kiss skins (the music band) etc... If only they invest a little bit of money less in smite and use it for paladins and dko, now they should have 3 funny and playable games.
Slipknot not kiss, only one God has a reference skin to Kiss. Have to remember smite has the biggest player base and consistent player base with gradual increase with updates or collaborations. That being said it's also their biggest money maker so it's only natural they focus on it especially with the pro league still alive in smite, all in all smite is a great game.
Honest to god, Paladins actually has the most “Original” bat******* insane character concepts fit for a 3D moba shooter. I never seen any other game create a character like evie, a glass cannon cosplaying as a broom-propelled AC-130 carrying explosives. Weak in survivability, but flying like crazy The only reason I uninstalled was my first orientation gameplay of barik (trying him again after some years prior), faced with the most scariest Cassie main with highest dps and accuracy demolishing every single team member in sight with a single left click barrage. Cassie mains are scary man…
My ranked ecperience so far after coming back after 2y to my lvl 14 acc: - I did positioning and got plat 1 (I am surprised like why I am this high in ranked???) - In ranked, composition with 20 champs out of the whole roster is essential to win. You will hardly see any bucky, maldamba, ruckus, etc. And if you do find them, expect another toxic teammate to start flaming them. - Toxicity, HOLY GOD, Toxicity in ranked, oh god, it is around 80% of the matches I encounter someone flaming so much, even turning on their mic to Yell at you and start trash talking. - Forced to play what is left. Yep, there is a tendency that EVERYONE wants to play either the flank or damage. Leaving the last 2 people on the team to pick very likely 2 tanks or 1 tank/1 healer bc if you dont, guess what, you very likely get 0-4. On top of that the same toxicity from the first pick in your team will come to annoy you if you dont play well. I noticed that these toxic players comes from those who buy the pass, the one who have gold, shiny names, who seem to have "mained" every single champ, and therefore spitting through their mic how you should play the champ you actually were forced to play 🫠.

As a TF2 Player, I played Paladins around 2017 or 2018…. It was fun even if it was a buggy mess because of my PC.

Most of the issues people point out on Overwatch, I don't care too much about as a new player, I just liked something fresh.
However, It's always good to know if ever OW servers get closed down, I have a home back in Paladins. ❤

It realy feels like Raventric has a more unstable version of the game, he gets so many more bugs then anyone else i see, i barely run into them atall.

I think i might be the luckiest person in the world since I don't experience almost and issues in Paladins at all. I know the issues are there, but its crazy that I never get them and my experience is perfectly smooth. The only bugs I get is a no reg rarely and a the ui locking you in reward received page.

The switch teams bug has been around for a while, but it working OUTSIDE custom games is a first.
It saddens me to know it might get removed everywhere now. i have fond memories of this bug.
Almost as funny as the dredge + hammer server crashing bug, but that one obviously had to go and i'm glad it didn't make it outside of public test servers.
If you're gonna recommend the game to people I think you should tell them about the PC fix where you need to change 64 into 32 in a notes doc. Unless they finally fixed that.

Paladins besto game, i have been playing it since it was in beta, but yeah, sometimes you just wanna hit that unistall button, but the game its too much fun to give up that easy

I've recently switched to paladins from playing competitive overwatch 2 and I gotta say this is the most fun I've had since OG overwatch. I just uninstalled OW2 a few days ago because of how frustrating and sweaty the game is and unbalanced it is I just couldn't take it anymore so I switched to paladins. I really recommend switching to paladins it might take a while to get the hang of how the champions work but the process is fun to learn. Some might disagree with me about paladins but I haven't found myself being very frustrated in any games.
I genuinely downloaded it a month ago and I had my fun lol

Tried this game a couple times over the past couple years, and have like 50 or so hours on it but it ALWAYS feels unfinished. Odd texture problems, audio problems and overall jankiness. The devs dont give a shit to fix anything but it's sad because it's pretty fun

I've been playing paladin's since lunch, and I've been noticing a huge surge of new players. My only concern is since all the new players from OverWatch coming I'm noticing a lot more toxic players, and I always hated whenever I play these games no one talked about all the toxic players start coming in and ruining the fun because the game got trendy

She's very fun and also viable now this patch. I one tricked her to master's this ranked season, and there is a way to fix 'most' bugs that occur on her to make your play more consistent.
The no dmg inferno cannon. (Cancel your inferno cannon)
No instacast from max mana. (Happens randomly, no fix other than dying)
Firing very fast on ice stance that does no dmg or continually failing to charge fireball. Happens randomly on respawn. (Do damage with an ability, either frost bomb or inferno cannon, and you can shoot again)
Fps drop on fireball charge. (Reset your game when it starts dropping too much between matches, this mitigates the issue)
Bindings reset on dragon when killed. (Be aware this can happen and quickly fix your bindings)

I have not touched this game since the dreaded OB64, but then again, I quit OW during the Brig meta and dropped my hopium once the OW2 stuff came out. I'm still not gonna touch these 2 games again, but it's funny that Paladins is making a come back after years of being budget OW.

Honestly, and I know people won't like this, but this game needs a Paladins 2. This game is the most Unreal engine game I have ever been graced with playing. For those who don't know, unreal engine is a bit, finicky, especially on PC. I think a lot of the bugs in the game would be solved with a move to a better engine system than using Unreal and fucking Autocad for models (which honestly blows my mind). This would make all the bug fixing overall so much easier and may solve some of them just for swapping. The issue is will EM actually take the time and money to move everything over to a Unity or something more modern; probably not.
What makes it worse is that it's on UE3. Not even UE4 let alone UE5

I really love paladins, but it is so frustrating that they don't fix bugs like the code redeem, they don't allow to watch the free chest quest and other things like that.
Good video. I just started plaything this game. I'm glad they don't have play of the game because games that highlight individual achievements ruin teamwork and community effort. Nobody wants to work as a team to win a game if there is any other reward. I think stats should be removed from games also.

At this point, it's either TF2 or Paladins, and Hi-Rez are at least trying to improve the game, bringing actual stuff like fun champs and cooler skins (mostly) that are way better than the best OW skins by light years. TF2 has one dev(or so I've heard) so yeah...

I have been playing it for a long time ( 2017 - 2023 ), the thing is that there is about a 50% chance that you will get some " toxic player " in your casual games, that I wouldn't let you play the way you play, try cards, new ways of playing, etc.
Me, like you, am a very old paladins player, since 2016. Basically now I play it more because of the friends and affinity with the game than for the actual fun at all. Hirez made a new game some months ago, that I liked very much: Dko. And I was pretty good at it, I used to play all days with Bees in official live streaming, since they stop to make official streamers play the game and give up on it. Basically a month ago I tried Smite and wtf Hirez invested a lot of money on it... Just for skins they have Transformer skins, teenage mutant ninja turtles skins, Kiss skins (the music band) etc...
If only they invest a little bit of money less in smite and use it for paladins and dko, now they should have 3 funny and playable games.
Slipknot not kiss, only one God has a reference skin to Kiss. Have to remember smite has the biggest player base and consistent player base with gradual increase with updates or collaborations. That being said it's also their biggest money maker so it's only natural they focus on it especially with the pro league still alive in smite, all in all smite is a great game.
Honest to god, Paladins actually has the most “Original” bat******* insane character concepts fit for a 3D moba shooter.
I never seen any other game create a character like evie, a glass cannon cosplaying as a broom-propelled AC-130 carrying explosives. Weak in survivability, but flying like crazy
The only reason I uninstalled was my first orientation gameplay of barik (trying him again after some years prior), faced with the most scariest Cassie main with highest dps and accuracy demolishing every single team member in sight with a single left click barrage.
Cassie mains are scary man…
I'd love to not crash every 5 games or so. But my first QoL fix I want is to turn off the raeve skin on the main menu ugh
My ranked ecperience so far after coming back after 2y to my lvl 14 acc:
- I did positioning and got plat 1 (I am surprised like why I am this high in ranked???)
- In ranked, composition with 20 champs out of the whole roster is essential to win. You will hardly see any bucky, maldamba, ruckus, etc. And if you do find them, expect another toxic teammate to start flaming them.
- Toxicity, HOLY GOD, Toxicity in ranked, oh god, it is around 80% of the matches I encounter someone flaming so much, even turning on their mic to Yell at you and start trash talking.
- Forced to play what is left. Yep, there is a tendency that EVERYONE wants to play either the flank or damage. Leaving the last 2 people on the team to pick very likely 2 tanks or 1 tank/1 healer bc if you dont, guess what, you very likely get 0-4. On top of that the same toxicity from the first pick in your team will come to annoy you if you dont play well.
I noticed that these toxic players comes from those who buy the pass, the one who have gold, shiny names, who seem to have "mained" every single champ, and therefore spitting through their mic how you should play the champ you actually were forced to play 🫠.
