According to the spec sheet, each NVME slot can use a 4TB drive.
This would make more sense
phew cause I was like a 4TB nas total? lame
I came to ask just this... thanks
Even w 4x4TB, hardly seems worth it.
The only thing I'm worried about are the two small fans on the bottom - fans like that can make some nasty noise. Would have been much more reassuring to see a single larger fan, similar to the one they use for CPU cooling (essentially a laptop fan by the looks of it).
Ideally, I would rather have it a tad bigger but with a built-in power supply.
UGreen NAS operating system has received very negative reviews.
Those reviews I saw, were when it was first released.
It was described as being OK, but "rough around the edges".
Recent reviews suggest that it has improved dramatically and is now quite a polished finished product.
But still needs certain features added to match the likes of Synologys DSM.
“Supports 1TB each”. This is unreal. A NAS that is pure NVMe yet only supports up to 1TB drives? The machine itself has 8GB (min) of RAM…
I think he got mixed up between "supports" and as an example, also I don't think he seen the spec sheet before, it supports 4TB per slot and the max ECC ddr5 ram is 64GB
@@Airwolf2030 it supports up to 96TB, IIRC.
only supports 1 TB drives? That's a bit concerning....; needs 8 TB drive support ASAP...!
He's wrong it's 4tb per slot
1TB each is bullshit
I like the form factor, but $1k? I wonder how this stacks up against something like the Asustor Flashtor - since I really just use my NAS for current creative files. My archive is to the cloud, and assets also get saved to a NAS that uses the traditional 3.5” drives.
1tb each. 4tb total is not worth that much money.
lol this isn’t new. But UGreen is new to NAS
Memory can go up to 64GB actually.
It’s not in stock though
they just opened sales yesterday on 20 August
i see the wifi card is also a module that could be upgraded later. seeing this is a standard i5, could you also run freenas / opennas?
for a person on the road... this is perfect.
How much noise does it make?
what is the model name?
DXP480T Plus
Wow, this is interesting. If this releases I hope that it will be under $500
Hope so!
The hardware looks great on all these things.
Nah, it's $519 on kickstarter, $799 MSRP.
@@tei1337 Ok, thank you
lol it's a thousand dollars, definitely not worth it at that price
