Did you know that your LATISSIMUS DORSI muscle connects your shoulder to your low back? It is involved in the function of your shoulders, middle back, and low back and may just be a little known key to your low back pain!
In this video, Bozeman Certified Sports Chiropractor, Jeff Feenstra DC, CCSP, talks about anatomy and the really cool role that the lat muscle can play. He then demonstrates unique treatment approaches using FAKTR to improve function of this linchpin.

Really great video. My lats are weak and tight at the same time. Can weak lats cause lower back pain?

Great video. I have allot of weakness form years of stress I’m addressing, mostly upward rotation stuff. I have mid/lower back I can’t budge. The inter scapular region down to lower mid back is ALWAYS tight/stiff/sore. It refers up into my cervical region giving me massive headaches. No matter what I do I can’t shift it. I’m starting to think I have allot of weakness and imbalance down there. It’s feels like the lat attachment along the spine is just chronically sore. What’s interesting I did a lat pull down and I had major soreness, pain and headache which tells me I did it too hard and it’s very weak.

Huh! I never thought my problems could be coming from my lats. That spot - right above the hip crest on my left side is so tight - it's always cracking and snapping. I've tried everything - but I haven't tried lat stuff yet. Thank you for the video!

I would get to a medical provider right away to rule out nerve damage.
