Simply stunning - there are a lot of Counter Tenors on the market these days but only a few truly occupy the top spots. I don't know how I missed Tim but was blown away after hearing him on radio 3 this morning!! Of course studied with Robin Blaze - what else would you expect to hear ??!
The timing of having this particular recording appear is amazing ... one week past the sudden loss of my beloved father in law. This is a beautiful mark upon our time of healing.

It is called heaven, the glorious throne room of God, where all sorrow and suffering will cease one day when Jesus Christ returns in the clouds with power and majesty. There is only one way, however, to gain access to heaven, to God, and that is through Jesus Christ, His only-begotten Son. He said, "I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6 Bach was a Christian and trusted Christ for his salvation; therefore, he could write with confidence about Jesus, His life, death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and future return. He began his compositions with a plea "Jesus, help" and ended them with "Soli Deo Gloria" (To God Alone Be Glory).

That's 80% practice. Give it a try, with practice you can stretch your range up and control the timbre to a degree. I'm fortunate enough to have a naturally large range, but making it sound good requires practice. It's very rewarding for something that in itself is tons of fun.
I've not previously come across this singer. What a find! Sublimely beatifiul tone in full bloom. He just tends to smudge consonants at the end of phrases here and there but, hey, this vocal rendition is near perfection and accompanied by an excellent ensemble. The whole melds into sheer aural delight. I shall play this offering repeatedly.
The lighting and photography for this video couldn't be more perfect, and the performance is more beautiful than anything I could ever dream of. The sunlight really transforms the video into an experience that's magical and rare, just like the singing here. And the fingerprints on Tim's glasses and relaxed wardrobe made me feel like a fly on the wall. Mission accomplished! Thank you!

今年の10月、日本でTimの歌声を聴き、すっかり魅了されました。そのうち、UA-camが Timの動画をあれこれ見せてくれるようになりました。この素晴らしいカンタータに出会わせてくれてありがとう。私はアルトで歌っています。いつか、この曲も歌ってみたい。もちろん、Timには遠く及ばないけれど。
オランダバッハ協会のマタイ受難曲、「憐れみたまえ我が神よ」を聞いて以来のファンです。彼が来日すると知り，私もジュリオ・チェーザレ行きました。声がとても柔らかくまっすぐ響いて素敵ですよね。
たまたま、Timの歌を順に聞いていて、コメントしてくださっていることに気づきました。ありがとうございます。私も数年前に「Erbarme dich」の動画を見ていたのですが、その時は自分が歌うための参考になる動画を探していたので、カウンターテナーではピンとこなくて、メゾソプラノの方の動画を繰り返し聴いていたんです。ところが、今回改めて聴いてみたら、なんと美しい・・・。ヘンデルのオペラもバッハのカンタータも、どちらも素晴らしいですね。
