The late, great Stan Lee was often said to be one of the nicest people in the industry, and when you listen to some of the stories people tell of their first meeting with them, you can really begin to see how he built that reputation.
And that is exactly what I am going to be talking about in this video today! I’ve gone through and compiled a slew of different stories from a handful of people involved in many of Marvel’s biggest productions, all about their experiences meeting and interacting with the man behind the stories.
I’m talking stuff from some of the original Avengers, and even some of the cast behind Fox’s X-Men films, some of the biggest heavy hitters in the Marvel Pantheon.
Ok, ok. Enough building it up. Sit back, grab your favorite beverage, and let’s learn about the man himself, Stan Lee.

I love how all of these top-class actors were so nervous about how they portrayed their characters. Just goes to show how much they respected and wanted to uphold Stan's legacy. RIP the GOAT.

I met Stan Lee @ the 2014 “Comikaze” in Los Angeles. We talked about my membership of “FOOM” in the 70’s. He said “... you’re still a kid!” We shook hands as I told him Peter Parker was so relatable when I was a teenager and I thanked him for his inspiration to be a better person.

I met Stan Lee when i was 5 but didnt know who he was then. I was in a Spider-Man costume and he starts asking me about it. Im sitting here explaining Spider-Man to the old guy for like 5 minutes. At the end of the coversation I said "Im spiderman!" And did the hand thing. He chuckles and says "I think were all Spider-Man." I was 22 when i watched the Spider-verse movie. When MJ says "In a way, we are all Spider-Man" i started crying. That one hit me hard.
*Edit* for those who don't know, Stan Lee has always said "anyone can be spiderman" so if u doubt the story, understand that this was Stan Lee's mindset to begin with

When I was seven I sent Stan Lee a letter. About two weeks later I got a letter in priority mail. I opened it and he replied and sent me a captain marvel card and called it just favorite superhero. It was so cool it made my life a little better.

I met Stan Lee at a Comicon and it was the best day of my life. I had bought a poster of the 1st Iron Man comic and asked him to sign it. He just took him time with me saying that he loved the throwback. He was a great man with a childlike wonder. Truly beautiful.

My dad met Stan Lee at a convention to get some stuff signed........my dad was wearing a Batman T-shirt. Stan Lee looked at him and basically said “come on, your wearing that in front of me.” My dad was apologizing quite a bit over that LOL

I had the best interaction with Stan The Man Lee when I was working for a catering company getting a photo with him, telling him that he was not only a child hero of mine but a Life Time hero to which he Replied “And Don’t You Forget It”

In the mid-'70s, I met Stan Lee at one of his college lectures. I sat by him for a couple of hours after that as he "held court," answering questions. He was funny and personable. It was a great day for me. One thing I remember was his comment about the newspaper machines we had in the midwest. They were the kind where once opened, ALL of the copies could be taken. Midwesterners usually only took one. He said in NYC, all of the copies would be taken.

My mom acctually met stan at a comic/film festival and was in line with him for something, somehow my mom didnt know who he was so she just had a full blown Conversation with him like it was nothing. After that she saw him appear in one of the marvel movies and was like “I met that guy!!” And my dad was pretty shocked that she met him and didn’t know who he was

They should make a movie about the start of Marvel comics way back in 1939 through the eyes of Stan Lee. It would tell the history of Marvel comics and the struggles they had that they eventually overcame. The final scene could be the actor playing Lee talking to Kevin Fiege about starting the MCU, as we would mostly know the rest of the story. It could be called "Marvelous" or some play on the word "Marvel"

I saw Stan Lee at a con almost a decade ago. being broke I couldn't afford the meet and greet, so as I walked by I yelled "looking good Mr. Lee" and he chuckled. it made my day.
I met Stan at Boston’s Fan Expo, it was the last east coast appearance he ever made. I didn’t have anything to get signed since I was in cosplay as Magik, and was carrying around a big soulsword prop. I stood in line though, and asked the handlers if I could say hello and thank him for inspiring me to be an artist and love telling stories. They said okay, so I got to shake his hand and thank him for the gift he gave the world, and he seemed to like my costume a bunch. It was maybe 15 whole seconds, but I’m really grateful to have been able to tell him how much his creations meant to me.
I never met him but my sister did. Had a whole 30 second conversation.

Meet him very briefly at mega con Orlando. I was there with my friend for each day of the event. The day stan was there, went spent it in lines for a photo op, autograph, and his panel. It was like the pope, Beatles and Elvis came to town. Very briefly got a picture with him and later had him sign it. His panel was great. For a man in his 90's he had the energy of a man in his prime. That signed photo is framed in my home. Larger than life man. Ingrained in my memory forever.

Yes, I met Stan Lee three times! The most memorable was the first. I was at Seattle's Emerald City Con and I wanted Stan to sign a couple of comics (same day I got a photo with Leonard Nimoy, but I digress) -- I say, 'Hi Stan", he says, 'Hey howya doin'; I tell him that sorry Irving Forbush couldn't make it. (Irving was the every comics fan Lee made up in the 60s). Stan said "Who?" then "Oh yeah, haha . When he was done with the signing i said bye, great to meet you and he said, "Give Irving my regards!"

Yeah I love how Stan was in his Marvel movies even if he was just walking in the background or a big spot in it. He made Marvel amazing and did so much for kids. Giving kids someone wonderful to look up too and not stop drawing or even creating their own heroes and universes. He was and still is my hero! You are never forgotten Stan and you are always missed.

I met Stan Lee in 2008 at Comic-Con in NY and he was super cool after meeting with dozens of people he still agreed to take a picture with me. He won an award that day and told everyone how important we all are to him. Was kinda a tear jerker because I felt like he cared about people like me that adored him and his work.
I literally just forgot about Fantastic 4, until they had to bring it up in this video. . . Thanks very much.

My husband and I met him at NY Comicon for a Photo Op. He had just had a pacemaker put in recently and we didn't think he'd be at the show. Incredible! My husband went to shake is hand and Stan shook his head and said , "fistbump" and they bumped knuckles. Yes. I got to meet Stan back in 2016 at Planet Comic con. I had him sign one of his own books he wrote back in the 60s. I had him sign my first Appearance of Green Goblin in Amazing Spider-man #14

One of the things I notice is people give a lot of credit for Marvel creation , but when u get a chance to talk to him and ask him he will tell you of all the great people who work on creating Marvel comics , asked about the bullpen and about marvel writers and artists he always has a story about them , and a nickname. He never forgot them !!!
