Not gonna lie, it is so refreshing to see female actors in Hollywood ageing gracefully with lines on their faces.
Isn't it? She looks great! I thought madonna would age gracefully and break her last tabboo...
She's sure not the only one. Hellen Mirren, Emma Thompson, Michelle Pfeiffer (except the Wasp movie), Meryl, Jamie Lee Curtis, Frances, Joanne Collins and so on. Anyway, it's their choice, and we might never understand the pressure they might feel afters years of scrutinizing their looks. Except Madonna, she deserves all the mocking, at least for her hypocrisy and self-absorbed whining
Kate's embarrassing story is crazy and her story-telling skills are off the charts! She's such a good actress!
She is but for those of us who actually know what gunfire sounds like and what it really is, comparing this to diarrhea is not so fun anymore

When Titanic came out I legitimately thought Kate Winslet was the most beautiful woman in the world, and her body was absolutely perfect to me.
Imagine my disbelief when in my thirties I'm finding out that the media would shame her for her weight back then.
Insane.
She was my first ever crush! I would have dreams about her as a little kid and I thought there was no woman more perfect - come to find years later that wasn't the case with casting directors
I actually remeber that. She was often branded "natural looking" in contexts that made it clear her weight and lack of generic plastic surgery made her "Interesting", a "Character actor" and "European". The way media allows itself to write and speak about women especially is terrible. I heard her being referred to as "full bodied" and "chubby" too. I love her not just for her acting but also her integrity as a person, and how down to earth and humerous she is on shows like this. Admirable woman in a buisiness that can really make you sick if you break through that early without a huge supportsystem around you. She's a very intelligent person who's made alot of smart choices.

The problem for me is that the extent of the damage the media causes with those comments goes beyond the specific women they target. The average woman is either her size or larger, and the fact that those comments can make them believe they *also* are "fat" or "not attractive" is terrible.
Like I mentioned, to me her body was perfect, not in a condescending manner, I wanted to look like her when I grew up, and it seems like quite an unattainable figure already. And that's not "enough"? She was shamed for it? Unbelievable.
@@miaferrari958 and the camera adds 30% at least. That's why when you see famous actresses live (I have) they look unhealthily thin. I've spent whole evenings next to a few world famous ones who didn't touch a morcel of the extravagant food or any drink all night. Bottled water only. And up close even someone you think of as sensual (or even sporty for action roles) look like they're starved. It doesn't show up on camera. It's a very unhealthy industry body image wize.

What a bunch of BS related to holding her breath. No physical exertion at all. Just putting your face into water and holding your breath. Cruise exerted a lot of energy in MI, swimming. Cruise still holds the record. Kate Winslet is full of crap and so is her so called record

Kate getting so angry about the body shaming stories and then making that pact with them just made my heart shrink a little. She seems genuinely worried about that. I love her so much she looks like a lovely person.
She is one of my least favourite humans. No integrity...and all that "you go girls" hyperbole. No point speaking out about Weinstein 20 years after the fact when you had all the opportunity in the world to do so at the time but was more concerned about career than standing up to perverts. I could tell them to sod off at 12 years of age so I have no time for her at all.
She is. She's been doing this since she got the platform to do it. She was the victim of bodyshaming and with plastic surgery flooding the screens, she really wants younger people not to experience what she experienced. You should look up on an interview of her and leo and the male interviewer mentioning about her Titanic body in a negative way despite that happening decades ago.

She’s had a boob job which is a shame however when you’re stripping g off I. Front of millions I completely understand.
This was such a merry band of completely different people, with different backgrounds and characters but it fit oh so well together... I hardly ever laugh out loud, especialy on UA-cam video's but this made me giggle, snicker and laugh multiple times. Loved it. 😃
A radio host here (New Zealand) has interview many stars and celebrates over time. He said the thing he noticed was that English guests are so normal,like chatting to someone over the fence. With US guests it's always me,me,I,I.
Yeeees. British celeberties are down to earth and not afraid to poke fun at themselves, but Usa stars always want to be potrayed nicely and good people.

This was such a great episode! It's lways delightful when it's all Brits on the couch and their chemistry was just awesome. Also, adored Ollie-Jack friendship, the duo I never knew I needed, lol.

Kate, Nadiya, stop all your moaning about "fat-shaming". You are NOT the only people who get bodyshamed. You have no idea how much skinny people (at least outside America and hollywood) get bodyshamed, we get bullied at school, called "sceletons", or "hangers", told to "eat more" in a mocking tone, told you are not "womanly" enough or looking like a "boy"... But sure, only fatshaming stories matter, and only those who are told by billionaire actors and musicians. Right, who cares about skinny bodyshamed "nobodies", it's not in the trend to acknowledge their experience.Winslet herself whined in the earlier program that she wished to be thinner and not have "huge ass". That hand-holding chant was cringe af.
As a skinny person who has experienced skinny shaming a lot, I don't believe that their talking about fat shaming is moaning. How can you not empathize with it as you have experienced body shaming yourself? It's any amount of shaming that is in some way giving a person the idea that they are not accepted for what or who they are in the moment, that could be detrimental to their health. You want to be accepted by your community and feel at ease with yourself. The moment someone tells you "what you are is not what you should be", you're living in division. You have what you are and what you should be and can not unify that. That is what causes stress. That is what causes sickness.
Also, Kate Winslet is not perfect. She is obvioulsy been affected by these thought forms and has started to criticize herself. Let's applaud these moments that she sees more clearly and not shaming her further by calling it moaning.
It is kinda disappointing that Kate Winslet never mentions she was holding her breath after inhaling an air mixture with a higher oxygen level than normal air. That's an important detail. Normal air has about 20% oxygen. The female world record is 9 minutes with normal air. It's impossible to think that she got nearly to the world record in a few weeks, when professional athletes train for years.
About the weight. I don't see the problem. As a director and producer, you have a character in your vision and you want that actor or actrice to play the part and get into that shape. Some people have lost or gained half their weight for a specific part. I don't get why "you need to lower your weight a bit" is suddenly something bad, for man or woman and something that "current young actors can fight against". It seems so fake, that statement. Because there is always preparation involved. I mean, Kate Winslet apparently trained for weeks to get to a certain target regarding holding her breath. Why is asking the same for your weight, something criminal? It doesn't make any sense and for the money they are paid, it just sounds lazy and entitled.
I think the issue is the weight part not being a part of the casting process and only getting those notes after getting cast.

Asking a guy to bulk up before or after saying he got the role is fine, but when a woman hears it, it's suddenly an offence or discrimination? I'm not seeing the part that is logical or equal.
