GRUGAPARK | ROUND TRIP WITH GRUGABAHN | Recommended excursion destinations in the Ruhr area in Essen

Today we're taking you to the Grugapark. There is a lot of beautiful things to see there. Whether it's the Alpinum, the Botanical Garden, small animals, red deer or just going for a walk in a beautiful, well-kept park. With the Grugabahn it is a little faster to marvel at the park. The ride costs extra and is not included in the entrance fee. Of course, you should take more time and take a look at everything, but it's not only a great opportunity for the kids. So come along and get on the train.
WHAT CAN YOU DO IN THE RUHR AREA?
There is so much you can do in the Ruhr area. For example, you can go to the Zollverein coal mine (World Heritage Site) in Essen, or take a walk along Lake Baldeney, or as presented here in the Grugapark. The Grugapark is located near the city center in the district of Rüttenscheid and has an area of about 65 hectares.
TIME ZONE OF GRUGAPARK
The park is usually open year-round from 7:30 a.m. to sunset. The ticket office opening hours differ from this and can be from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Of course, you can find the exact opening hours on the Grugapark website.
GRUGAPARK TICKETS
Tickets are available directly on site at the box offices or in the online shop. Discounts, as well as annual passes are also available.
GRUGAPARK MAIN ENTRANCE
The Grugapark main entrance is located on the Rüttenscheid side, i.e. on the B224 and directly in front of it there is a large, paid parking lot. GRUGA FAIR Directly at the Grugapark is also the Messe Essen with many large halls. Hotels and parking lots are often very busy during trade fairs.
GRUGAHALLE ESSEN
