I was fortunate to ride Wanaka-Cardrona rtn while NZ was in lockdown so next to no traffic. No way I would do that route otherwise. Some of the main roads out of Wanaka are pretty busy. Hawea north to Haast is a nice ride with less traffic, particularly in winter when less tourists around. However the gravel is awesome. Another great vid Keira!

why did you avoid road cycling in wanaka before? are roads/traffic sketchy there?
