Utopia needs a new lower price with extra goodies like a case.
These look better here in video than some of the early leaks. Definitely bold, and will remain distinct for a long time. Focal also knows they can make a great headphone that also doesn't require over-engineered amp/dacs.
Nice review/interview, Jude. Lots of questions came to my mind as Nicolas was talking about some of the principals they used in the design, like the diffusion & absorption of the energy behind the driver and the cushion. I am pushing for obtaining and testing a unit. Its FR definitely looks better than the Utopia, especially below 400 Hz.

Great! Another closed back HP for me to fantasize about in addition to the Meze Empyrean and the Sennheiser HD 820.
How do these compare to the Sennheiser HD820?
Looking at the freq response and THD, looks way better than Utopia measured by headphones.com but not sure the measurements can be compared or not since they were done by two completely different labs. I love my Utopias but wish they had more bass extension w lower bass distortion. Anyone know how they stack up against each other? Utopia vs Stellia?

They look hot! Fit and finish outstanding, but how do they sound? Some people say Focal Clear sounded better than Utopia at a cheaper price. Does the sound quality match the price?
Some aspects of the frequency response graph remind me of the HA-DX1000.
So, it might actually sound good.
Well, I'm not going to say that I don't want one.
But I can't afford one.
Looks absolutely gorgeous though. And if it sounds like a closed-back Utopia, I'd probably love it.
aethertech I believe not being able to afford a piece of equipment is why most people bash that said piece of equipment.

Bowers And Wilkins P9 pull off the brown look quite well
Except sadly they are one of the worst headphones on the market in terms of price/performance...I have higher hopes for this

Utopia was beautiful, Clear sounded the best to me. This is... The opposite of the Utopia. I hope is sounds better.

not sure that a leather inner headband is a good choice of material. beautiful looking but i would not want many folks putting it on due to hair oils and gel

The styling is going to be very polarizing. I'm in the hate it camp. Utopia looks much nicer than this visually.

Everything he said was accurate and poignant, HOWEVER, the analogy of a large speaker in a small room is not accurate. More accurately, the smaller the room the more you need to control directivity... and this is more easily accomplished with a LARGER speaker/horn, not a smaller one.
Another underperforming overpriced Focal product, nothing new.

@@c_o_l_m It's a closed back and it's fr looks like M50X lol, a lot of mid bass, no lower mids, a lot of upper mids and sightly bright treble.
When did you here them and what are their pros and cons soundwise?
Only looks good if you wear brown clothing or have brown skin.
I was gonna say same thing...need to buy a new wardrobe just for these cans :P
the white models look good as well as the brown one and the people in the video.
