I love Yakuza, you love Yakuza, we all love Yakuza, but one thing I don't love is not knowing what's coming next. I speculate on what game is releasing next so that we have an idea of what is coming. That's the video.

could definitely see a ryuji gaiden, short time span and the ryuji teasing in gaiden is a bit suspicious and would certainly be surprising assuming they are going to be releasing a yakuza game
I could see Akiyama Gaiden happening too, but for Ryuji there were also those leaked screenshots of him (wearing his tank top from RGG Online?) in Onomichi that may or may not be real
I wish if they made Kurohyou Kiwami and Kurohyou Kiwami 2.

Was gonna say this. Kurohyous combat is so good and I wish instead of going turn based for yakuza 7 they turned it into simplified tekken. So bascially just the kurohyou system

That's almost certainly going to be a Gaiden game at some point. Maybe to shed some light on what Majima was doing while Kiryu was serving 10 years in the joint.

We have enough Majima backstory for now thanks to Yakuza 0. I'd be much more interested in seeing a Ryuji Goda or Daisaku Kuze spinoff.

@@KaiSC Its screenshots from modded Yakuza 6 with bad ReShade settings applied. The dev menu and health UI stuff is photoshopped from a video of Yagami's VA playing a early build of judgment which had those menus. It wouldnt even make sense to have a placeholder Judgment Health UI at that point in development since the "leaks" surfaced after Yakuza 7 where Yakuza 6, Judgment and 7's UI was complete. I couldn't find the original 4chan post so dont remember by who or when it was confirmed fake
Maybe it will be yakuza 0,5. Dates kinda line up, would come as a surprise for fans and will also be good with tv series coming up.

At some point I would love to see an Adachi gaiden. I'm not entirely sure what this would look like but it sounds like his time in the force was interesting from all of his interactions in 7 and 8

Its most likely the third Judgement title, since SEGA considers it to be part of the series. And its due for release soon anyway.
If they do bring ryuji back then they should make them have the most badass old man fight as kiryu’s final battle. That is the only kiryu death I will accept

My guess is that theres gonna be a game set in-between 0 and 1 to tie into the TV show with a playable Kiryu/Nishiki. Pessmistic unlikely guess, Live service game where we play as villians and characters who havent showed up again. The first theory is why they are hiding 0s existence.
I think Yokoyama dismissing Kiwami 3 as the next game is just what you have to do in these interviews to not show your hand, knowing how big of a surprise it would be for fans (fans have been wanting a Kiwami 3 since 2018) would be spoiled by just a simple written interview; even him stating "he wants to do it/ we'll do it sooner or later" could definitely be a wink.

Ryuji didn't die, in kiwami 2/og 2, ryuji and kiryu were always meant to be equals and at the same power level and if we apply that logic then ryuji DID NOT DIE
At the end of 2/K2, kiryu went through hordes of the jingweon and also man in black, and ryuji was just sitting and waiting for kiryu, they fight each other, both get exhausted, daejin kim shows up, ryuji rests for a bit and kiryu fights five guys, both kiryu and ryuji get shot the same amount of times later, another rematch, both fall, and ryuji "dies" while kiryu is extremely tired
i’m really hoping for a ryuji game, they baited the possibility of him still being alive like 4 times across gaiden and iw, it’s suspiciously too much to just be random to me
I mean iI could still see Judgment 3 being next because the situation with Johnny and associates is over. The president of it stepped down because of ongoing SA allegations and Johnny split into two entities. Takuya Kimura joined one of those two entities, I can’t find out which one exactly tho. I can’t say for sure that his new agency won’t be greedy like Johnny but considering how small it is now, surely they would take up saga on the offer right?
I would love to get a Judgment 3. If Kimura won’t come back I could totally see Akiyama taking over as the lead.

Infinite Wealth Haruka looks exactly the same as Saeko‘s stister in Y7, same haircut, same clothes. I was genuinely mad when I realised this.
I honestly expect it to be a gaiden game centered around Akiyama.
Reason being: when he reappered in Y8 they were very koi about what kept him out of the events of Y7 and he is considered by many to be the third MC of the og-part of the series besides majima and Kiryu. PLus, I can see them do a lot of wacky and wild stuff if we, for example, would need to head a new branch of Sky Finance for example.
I want a game that features the Jimas as protagonists. There’s still so much story to tell with those guys. Judgment 3 and Kiwami 3 would be amazing too.

What I'm hoping for is a new spin-off that happens in 70's or 80's. A bit more serious tone in the story and less wacky shit. I don't need Young Kiryu or Majima. Just good characters that deal with grim underworld stuff and blow out steam in the city. Yagami and Kaito were great characters, so RGG can make new ones, for sure.
Imagine a "Like a Dragon Side Story" or a "Like a Dragon New Chapter" (Like Kurohyou). A game settled in '90, where you control two new high schooler protagonist and the game explore the world of japanese hoolingans. A game inspired to great media like "Kyou Kara Ore Wa!" or "Shonan Junai Gumi"

Imagine face some well known characters of the series in their youth like Daigo Dojima, Shinada, Ryuji Goda or even Yuya when he was with the bosozoku gang. Using new two protagonists (Two like Eikichi Onizuka/Ryuji Danma or Takashi Mitsuhashi/Shinji Ito) and their road to became an adult and a real man
I had a huge page of Yakuza Kiwami 3 Speculations on my ChatGPT. But I think it’s useless now due to the inaccuracy in my speculation
If RGG start a third series I’d love them to make a wrestling game. You’d have in-ring matches where u try and put on an entertaining match as well as regular street fights and the story could draw on the Yakuza scandals and real life violence that surrounded the golden age of Japanese wrestling.
Forth series. As it stands you have Like A Dragon, Kurohyō 1 and 2 for the psp, and Judgement. Thats officially three series as those games have direct sequels. If Like A Dragon gaiden gets a sequel its technically four as sidestory games are seen as their own series. If the new game is brand new and planned to be the first of a new series than that will be the 4th series in the franchise if there are no future gaiden games planned, if there are more then the brand new game will be bumped to fifth. Thats of course if its a brand new title and not Judgement 3.

Kiwami 3
Judgment 3 (because of the pc ports)
Gaiden 2 (I'd bet on Ryuji for multiple reasons, but who knows)
As much as I would love a Kiwami 3 the Ryuji Gaiden seems more possible with everything they’ve been hinting at.
Who knows if they’ll really make another remake of 1, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they do some tie in game with the TV actors or something.

Ryuji is not someone who we'll play simply because in most games, we are the hero and Ryuji's not a good guy. What will the story be ? Doing bad stuff ? Yakuza is a hero, good guy story.
Same reason why we cant get games with Kuze, Sera etc. With bad guys, the story won't be a good one. Change is important in movies and games. Those guys, in a game, would just be a serie of bad things.

Nice video my good man, as a fan of like a dragon, i am sad that we need to forget about judgement 3 or dead souls and kenzan remake, as i was begging to see them being remade. As for kiwami 3, I personally dont care imo, as we already have yakuza 3 remastered, i understand where people are coming from in terms of the combat aspect, but still. I cannot wait for September!
To be fair, if they were gonna bring back any dead character, it should be Ryuji because even though he didn't have that dog in him to actually be a match for Kiryu, he had the most plausibly survivable injuries (mirrored in Kiryu who lived) not shot in the fucking brain Lau Ka Long, or torn apart by high cal. Minigun Kashiwagi. And that's not even including the fact that you can take selfies with their ghosts in Yakuza 6, but not Ryuji's.
But all things considered, I really do hope it's a Kiwami 3. If any games deserves it, its out dear blockuza

My most wanted one would have to be Judgment 3, at least round it off as a nice trilogy. If not though and they really cant get Kimura back then honestly I hope they make a brand new spin off series in the same vein as Judgment, new protag, new cast, maybe even a new location?? (doubt) but thats what I would like. Also down for a Ryuji Gaiden game but not getting my hopes up and a Kiwami 3 is at the bottom of the priority list for me, Id like to see them do something with Kenzan, Kurohyou 1&2 and Dead Souls before they even consider Kiwami 3.
I will say though, if we do get a Kiwami 3 please for the love of god give us the classic Dragon style from 0-5 in the Dragon engine, they are going to need multiple fighting styles right? So just give him a revamped version of his old one and the Yakuza style from Gaiden. Best of both worlds.

If they make kiwami 3 we NEED the classic dragon of dojima fighting style back, maybe with new animations but it needs to be the same moveset from 3 not the modern one from 6

They recently petend a "Yakuza Wars" name suggesting that next game would be another Role Playing game like Infinite Wealth.
Although it's also speculated that they just patented the title because there was a mobile game with stolen assets from Yakuza with the same name so it may have been just to protect the brand. But you never know.

Kiwami 3 would go hard since Gaiden seem to borrow some combat mechanics from Lost Judgement (aka the best Dragon Engine combat) and therefore should transfer or even refined even more in potential Kiwami 3. Imagine juggling combo in Mine or Rikiya fights.
