I liked this girl a lot. She quietly came up, did what she needed to do to get a little snack, gave you that “thank you” look and peacefully went on her way. Hoping she makes many return visits. With a sweet demeanor like that, she’s welcome anytime. Thank you, Patrick. Take care. ♥️
One of the bears has drawn a map in the woods- Mr Patrick’s place with bird seed- follow the stream, turn right at the big tree, pay no mind to that dog, straight ahead and onto the beautifully painted porch- and there’s your snack! Simple!😂
Holy crap, that is absolutely one of Simone’s cubbies from a couple years ago!!! She’s ginormous too for her age!!! She’s going to be massive!!! 😮 It’s very difficult to tell black bears apart but there are some very specific attributes Simone had that made it easy to distinguish her from others & this big beauty has a lot of those same genetic attributes!!! It’s so funny to watch them as they come back there as adults. Everything just clicks in their brains b/c they were so used to going there as babies. They already know the layout, the routine, where the seed stash is, how to get around the place & the nice man who sits there & talks to them!!!! It’s all so familiar to them even though they haven’t been there in years!!!! So neat!!!! There’s no doubt in my mind that’s one of Simone’s babies!!!
I have to admit, she did seem to know the place and the routine. And when she looked up at Patrick for an extended time toward the end of the vid, it was so much like Simone looking at us it was uncanny.
One of the cubs from an earlier year remembered you and came back all teenager almost grown size! Yay! Kinda worried about Simone's absence lately. I hope she's ok.
I'm amazed how many bears are well-behaved. They're very gentle too. Patrick you must be pretty well respected by bears. Part of the bear folklore. You must be on the good human list. Thank you
Most black bears are easygoing - untill a human does something stupid to frighten them or threaten their cubs. I live in bear country and spent lots of time in the woods with my cameras, and never had any problems with the bears I encountered - always made sure to make lots of noise as I walked, and when they ran one way, I "gracefully exited" in the other direction. (Never run!)
Patrick: “that’s not at all how you do it, you’re obviously new at this so I’ll give you a pass….” 😂🤣🤣🤣 hilarious commentary Patrick, I literally laughed out loud at that! 🤣👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Looks like the bird seed bill may be going up, word has obviously spread amongst the bears of good seeds at Patrick’s house! 🤣🇬🇧
Yes, he always speaks gently unless a bear comes too close. I recently learned that neuroscientist Jaak Panksepp published a report “Affective Neuroscience “ showing that all mammals share 7 emotion circuits - that’s why we can understand 😊🙏🏻.
@DorisDay-lw4xs you're absolutely right. He seems to have some sort of a rapport with them. They understand him and know he (Uncle Patrick) is safe and loving
So we have another rando? Not the least bit uncomfortable walking right by a human… must be familiar. As always, thanks for keeping us in the loop with your front porch wildlife adventures Patrick!
Patrick, your descriptions are always right on point!! Young Rando. "My Precious" She is a sweet girl with kind eyes. When she couldn't get to the feeder and walked away, the look on her face changed when you said, "Want to come back up? First she had trouble getting on the railing. Then tried knocking down the feeder, but to no avail! So kind of you to give her a pass!! She must've seen Ruby and the crew do it, and gave it her best shot!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS SPECIAL VISIT WITH US, Patrick!!! Have a wonderful evening!! 💯👆🐻🐾💖😘💞 FYI, It was my Moms 8th birthday in heaven today and your visit helped me tremendously!! Your friend Sheila from Connecticut...❤
She seems to know her way around your porch, Patrick, maybe she's one of Simone or Ruby's older cubs? Thanks for the video, mate, always look forward to them.
Why, thank you kind Sir, all these snacks - are they free? And, to be quite certain, they are meant all for me? Forgive me, I really don’t wish to impose. I tend to be gentle, not ever verbose, You mean this - I am really welcome as guest? I promise, I will never act like a pest! So - could I move in just under your house? Believe me, I make no more noise than a mouse.
My how her face, her build, her demeanour, her sweetness... my my how she reminds me of beautiful Simone. She somehow seems to know you, your home and porch. Seems young to me; am I correct in that? Lovely and so ladylike. Walks so softly .I hope we see her again.
Dear Patrick, "Precious" - Perfect name! Definitely a sweet return and believe she was as glad to see You, as to find 'memories'. I believe she would have extended her time with you, as she suggested with her wistful way. Even if unclear as Simone's, visit was "Precious". Best Regards to You ❤ Ann
She has definitely been on the porch before , but this is her first time climbing to get the seeds, usually its one of the mothers who knocks them down for the cubs , so i would guess this bear has been before , knows where the seeds are , i bet they have seen mom climb up , but are too busy trying to climb to see how to knock the seeds out. I can only imagine she will be back , maybe she has to wait for the other bears to leave the area.
Such a sweet and well behaved girl!! Another great video documenting how an expert and aware host like you, Patrick, make such magnificent creatures feel relaxed and welcome. Thank you for sharing, Patrick!
My first thought was that this was an offspring of either Simone or Ruby, who had watched Mama get the seeds and remembered that there'd also be spilled seeds on the ground in front of the porch. So, maybe Luca or Pru, but I think even Simone's quads would be emancipated yearlings by now and on their own. Her face with its light-colored snout kind of reminds me of Simone.
There's something familiar about this lovely bear; something about the way she handles herself? She may be a newcomer but she's already mastered the porch proverb; 'when above is in doubt, don't forget to look down'. And she IS precious!!! Thanks Patrick! ❤🐻✌
Look at that CUTE and healthy little boy! What a sweetie-pie! He's playing peek-a-boo! Tags or not, he obviousy received word about your porch because he knew exactly where to come and what to do when he arrived....try to break the feeder, scatter the seeds, and vacuum them up! 'My precious' is right! This boy is so cute and he definitely needs a name. I think he might just become a regular visitor! Thanks Patrick!
Just wondering Patrick, could she be Luca? Her sweet disposition is very similar to Simone’s. I will admit that I’m not that familiar with how much they grow in the 2nd-4th years. She seemed alone but not lonely. If not she is definitely Precious!
This bear is definitely not “rando”. He/she has been to Uncle Patrick’s porch before. ❤ BTW, it’s so adorable how he/she reaches with her paw to see if it’s close enough to swat it down ❤️❤️❤️
No ear tags new to the neighborhood 😅❤🐻 She is familiar with area walking by to say Hi I remember this porch as young cub. Lily of the Fields🥰 It's Fall nearing hibernating. No hissing so this one must be offspring of me ladies mom bears. Be safe out there 🐻😘
Cautious; she's heard of (scented?) the Peace of the Porch from afar, but is still uncertain about the precise protocol. Seems a fast learner, though! Thanks for sharing her respectful visit, Patrick.
Oh my gosh, how I wish I (or any photographer) could have been standing out front with a camera - to have gotten a shot of you sitting on your porch with that lovely young bear standing over by the railing "waving" to the neighbors!!! (Yes, folks, I know she was really reaching for the seeds, but it would have made an awesome Christmas card worthy picture!)
Bear: "Aunt Simone told me there's a trick to this, but I had no idea it was going to be THIS easy to get a nice snack! By the way, if you're Patrick, Aunt Simone and the kids send their regards. "
She's a cutie Patrick,, well there goes the paint & feeder she's just learning . Your videos make me happy Patrick thank you for sharing your furballs!😂😂❤❤🐾🐻🐾❤❤❤
Uncle Pat, you never cease to amaze me. To think that I love nature, but would scream at a minuscule spider. I now retired to a homestead and we have black bears in the woods. Have never seen one. Another great video!
She is so sweet and I felt bad because she tried so hard to get the seeds. ❤❤❤❤❤ How do the bears know to come to your place? Do they hear it through the grapevine?
Elderly Aussie: What a lovely young lady. She seems familiar with the set-up - she immediately went looking for the birdseed tray buy not yet adept at managing it. Could she be one of Simone's last litter. I think she knows you and she was very polite.
What a really sweet face. She’s definitely not Ruby. Doesn’t really know how to get the seeds. I was so happy when she was able to get some. She’s very precious 🥰

Incredible how kid came back

'Rando', maybe, but somebody's been up on the veranda before and knows about the magical 'sky tray'.
😊
She’s probably one of the many cubs who visited your porch often. Mama taught them manners.
Holy crap, that is absolutely one of Simone’s cubbies from a couple years ago!!! She’s ginormous too for her age!!! I thought the exact same thing! This has to be a Simone baby! ❤️
Yep, Ruby's cubs are obsessed with climbing the railing the wrong way
😁
One of the cubs from an earlier year remembered you and came back all teenager almost grown size! Yay!
Kinda worried about Simone's absence lately. I hope she's ok.
Etwas ungeschickt, aber das wird sie noch lernen. Wunderschöne Bärin. Vielen Dank, lieber Patrick, für die schönen Videos.
I suspect this lovely adult has visited the porch in the past...when just a wee cub!😁🐻💗
That girl is *way* too familiar with your operation. Must be a known cub from a previous year?
Do you think this young bear was a cub that used to come to your porch when it was with it’s mom? A cutie pie for sure.❤
What a gorgeous face she has. This has made my day. Thank you, Patrick. ❤🐻🐾
Definitely knows your porch ?? ...BUT never tried on her own before ?? Well made a mess but got a snack ...lol !! Fun video ...thank you !!!❤
This sweetie is definitely a former Porch Cub. ❤️
I'm amazed how many bears are well-behaved. They're very gentle too. Patrick you must be pretty well respected by bears. Part of the bear folklore. You must be on the good human list.
Thank you

Difficult to admit she is wild, not to give her a treat and trespass the rules !!! She looks so gentle and respectful with a soft look in her eyes❤
That's got to be one of Simone's babies, you can't tell me different 😂❤
What a lovely girl ! Her method has the great advantage of not breaking the bird feeder ;-)
Your the perfect teacher, to teach how too live within natures boundaries respecting them.thank you for including us. Blessings.
The way Mr. Conley converses with these furry angels is Pure therapy . He has a natural rapport and they KNOW it ❤🐻
Yes, he always speaks gently unless a bear comes too close.
@@edrabogucki401 wow that is truly insightful!
Whoever he is, he obviously has the Jedi bannister climbing skills of a young Padawan😂
Good porch manners, and no Ruby style pole dancing. I'd say this is one of Simone's cubs.
Sitting here in Spain, watching your video, whilst keeping a lookout for dolphins 😎
So we have another rando? Not the least bit uncomfortable walking right by a human… must be familiar.

I like her get-the-seeds technique, because it saves you having to repair the chain over and over :)
Probably a cub returning to the yummy seeds shop😁😁😁. Cheers Rosemary Western Australia 73yrs
Aww must be one of previous cubs visiting
She seems to know her way around your porch, Patrick, maybe she's one of Simone or Ruby's older cubs? Thanks for the video, mate, always look forward to them.
That bear knows you
It did seem possible. Maybe one of Simone's cubs?? She definitely seemed fairly comfortable around Uncle Patrick.
Word has spread thru out the bear community that free seed is up for grabs
Why, thank you kind Sir, all these snacks - are they free?
And, to be quite certain, they are meant all for me?
Forgive me, I really don’t wish to impose.
I tend to be gentle, not ever verbose,

Lovely poem
J'adore votre humour 😊.
Bonjour de Normandie France
I like the name Bette. "Bette Davis Eyes." Her little reach, trying to get to the seeds again was too cute!
U r a remarkable human being to gain the trust of wild animals. Mothers even trust you with their babies.
Thank you, Patrick, for always sharing these precious moments. ☀️🌻🐻
My how her face, her build, her demeanour, her sweetness... my my how she reminds me of beautiful Simone. She somehow seems to know you, your home and porch. Seems young to me; am I correct in that? Lovely and so ladylike. Walks so softly .I hope we see her again.
Amazing to see this lonesome cub, visiting you on its own.
Def feels secure and safe with you. ❤

pretty sure it was a Lord of The Rings reference and not a name for the bear, but it works both ways. :)
It might not have been the right way; but it was effective. Beautiful bear! Someone has told her about you. 😊❤
I love to watch these bears, the tricks they use to get the birds plate. They never gave up😊
Can't be a past cub of Ruby's, the child doesn't get on the porch rail the same way as Ruby. Maybe one of Simone's?
A First-Time visit without Mama-Bear ...?
But the seed-dish - and how to reach for it - is nicely stored in his/her memory❣️🥰
Patrick he knows about the bird seed so it might be one of Simone kids.

Yes, I thought so too. When she gazed up at Patrick for a while near the end of the vid, she looked so much like Simone it was kind of startling.
Awww, awwww, her arms are too short, bUt loved her determination to reach the feeder.
Here’s the thing. They all talk about you. That you have bird seed and you are a good guy. That’s called language, complex language.
PS. You know what I’ve never seen at your bird feeder. Birds.
She must have visited with her mom before. ❤️❤️
She reminds me sooooo much of Simone. Her figure, her face, the way she climbs the railing, the way she acts so sweet ❤
What a gentle bear!
She knows where the treats are, I believe she's a baby that's been here before
There's something familiar about this lovely bear; something about the way she handles herself? She may be a newcomer but she's already mastered the porch proverb; 'when above is in doubt, don't forget to look down'. And she IS precious!!! Thanks Patrick! ❤🐻✌
Beautiful animal. Well behaved.
This is another sweetie that knows you very comfortable ❤❤ 😊
Awe beautiful bear.Seem's familiar to you Patrick and porch. Reminds me of a young Simone? Thanks for sharing. ♥️🐻♥️
💗💗💗💗thank you patrick we love you and the bear you all make us smile!!

Like her patience & persistance... she may learn the Conley Bear way...but she "did it her way"...
This bear is definitely not “rando”. He/she has been to Uncle Patrick’s porch before. ❤
BTW, it’s so adorable how he/she reaches with her paw to see if it’s close enough to swat it down ❤️❤️❤️
I’m not sure if bears communicate, but if the do, the word is out about Patrick and his porch. Thank you for sharing. I’m sure you’ll see him again.
She's been there before. Maybe not too skilled at getting the seeds, but you are no stranger to her.
Wow what a beauty.so sweet.knows the area must be here when she was a cub so gentle n polite
No ear tags new to the neighborhood 😅❤🐻 She is familiar with area walking by to say Hi I remember this porch as young cub. Lily of the Fields🥰 It's Fall nearing hibernating. No hissing so this one must be offspring of me ladies mom bears. Be safe out there 🐻😘
So sweet....Rando has a little "pot belly", like Paddington or Winnie-the-Pooh....So sweet...
Mama told her it's always safe at uncle Patricks house.❤❤❤
Cautious; she's heard of (scented?) the Peace of the Porch from afar, but is still uncertain about the precise protocol. Seems a fast learner, though! Thanks for sharing her respectful visit, Patrick.
Nice bear, a little timid. Maybe Ruby told him about the nice man who has seeds. Thanks Patrick.
She was a little timid the second go round. Beautiful bear. She’s been there before for sure. Knows where the treats are. ❤️❤️
She should’ve paid more attention in class.
just beautiful what a lady
Bear: "Aunt Simone told me there's a trick to this, but I had no idea it was going to be THIS easy to get a nice snack! By the way, if you're Patrick, Aunt Simone and the kids send their regards. "

Not very big is she? Maybe from Simone’s cubs before the quads? Hope you are well Patrick. Take care my friend xx
She reminds me of Simone , not feisty like Ruby she seems more gentle ❤🇦🇺🐨🐨🇦🇺❤️ I also like the name Dolly. Hope you’re keeping well Patrick ?
Omg I haven’t seen the bird seed in so long I thought it was gone forever! back for good? 😁
She is so sweet and I felt bad because she tried so hard to get the seeds. ❤❤❤❤❤ How do the bears know to come to your place? Do they hear it through the grapevine?
Lol! Could be. And some of us have a theory that a few of them have likely come here as cubs 🧸🧸🐻
Oh bless 🤗 need to be just a little taller, huge paws though 😳.
Take care xx
How cool. Ruby must have recommended uncle Patrick’s place for a quick snack.😂
Somehow knows the feeder is there.
Elderly Aussie: What a lovely young lady. She seems familiar with the set-up - she immediately went looking for the birdseed tray buy not yet adept at managing it. Could she be one of Simone's last litter. I think she knows you and she was very polite.
Just a relaxed tour of your porch. Loved it.
Thank you Patrick for all of these fun videos. Praying you and your community made it through Helene safely. 🙏

What a really sweet face. She’s definitely not Ruby. Doesn’t really know how to get the seeds. I was so happy when she was able to get some. She’s very precious 🥰
