On October 16, 2002, two months into The Rising Tour, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band took the stage at Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Spain, performing over two and a half hours of new songs, classic hits, fan favorites and rarities. The rising is the title track to the 2002 album the rising. Bruce felt compelled to record the album when, in the aftermath of the attacks on September 11, 2001, a stranger in an adjacent vehicle rolled down his window and said: "We need you now". It is a crazy crowd.. those Barcelona crowds are always intense.. my other favorite concert is from the Hammersmith Oden London like 1975ish .. GREAT STUFF.. check out Tenth Ave Freeze Out from there.
I’d put Hyde Park in ‘09 at my number one concert with MSG close behind. Seen him 5 times and all are amazing regardless.

The song is about a NYC fireman on Tuesday morning 9-11-2001.

Every fire truck & emergency vehicle in NYC flew like a bat out of hell to the WTC. When they arrived, they all paused and looked up….

Verse 1) he’s climbing up the stairs of the WTC. “Sixty pound stone” & “half mile of line” is the heavy equipment on his back.

Verse 3) towers collapsed. He doesn’t make it. He’s floating to heaven. He sees his wife holding pictures of their children.

The sound quality and video are obviously better on more recent ones, but the Springsteen concerts from 1978-80 are unmatched.

The female singer is Bruce's wife Patti.
This concert was a 9 out of 10 but his Live in NYC is a 10 out of 10....check out "Light of Day...from NYC"... he just gives it his ll and the audience are off the chats with him on it...
