- Hi guys, tackling another double page in the "1920's Gentleman's Journal"! Today, we're diving into an exciting new project: creating an interactive page featuring a movable camera and pockets. This is a total experiment for me, something I've never attempted before, but I am thrilled with how it turned out. It's completely awesome, and I'm eager to share the journey with you. I'll guide you through my thought process step-by-step, hoping you'll craft along with me and maybe even pick up some new techniques. Let's get started on this creative adventure together!

I must say the the Gentlemen’s Journal series has been so amazing and inspirational. I absolutely love when you create a themed journal and then do spreads in it. helpful hint: before you cut your slidey slot, put a piece of scotch tape on both sides of the paper of the slidey slot...then cut thru it... it will prevent it from tearing with use and you could also use some of your fancy faux aged tape!!

Fantastic, interactive camera. I love that it slides back and forth over the bees. Love the lens. Genius of you. The other page is very interesting also. Both pages are super cool and fantastic makes . As a child I had a lot of trouble understanding my mother side of the family they lived in Heerenveen ,Sneek, Joure, and around another town, Friesland. I was born in Amsterdam. They had a different dialect then me. Lol. Back in the day long , long time ago. We moved here in 1957. All my family still live there. Just me and my two children and 5 grandchildren , 3 g/ grandchildren. Sad. I never had aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents growing up here in the US. Was a hard journey for me as a child. I am 78 now and used to it. But missed out on a lot. I an thankful for my beautiful little family. Am blessed.

True wordsmiths will always find places to put words. I’ve used hidden journaling spots for as long as I can remember. I like the challenge of making it happen to fit the project. Don’t alter a thing, you’ll never please everyone, and some people just have to say something instead of enjoying what the artist is sharing.
It would be cool to use a magnifying glass in the middle of the left side sheet so the timetable numbers show up larger. They sell magnifying glass sheets so it can be cut easily and glued like you would an acrylic sheet

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: GENIUS!!!! Totally innovative. I might have added some foam pads to the bottom of the camera (on the back) so it would be level when sliding, but it didn't look like it needed that. BRAVO, my dear!! Keep 'em coming!!

To avoid the future possibility of ripping the slit on the left page, on the underside of the slit you can put some glue to the right and left and let it dry. It would act as a stopper like when you put in a zipper and stitch at the bottom

YAY for another awesome make! I was shouting to you to flip the lens when you were deciding where to cut the slit, instead of the binder clips.... lol! Thanks to others here for suggesting tape, both on the back of the slit before cutting, and on the back of the "mechanism" to prevent it from falling out. I will absolutely be trying this!! Oh and I'm proud to say that I also visited Scheveningen once, in February though, so not exactly beach weather, but the place made an everlasting impression! (At 17 my (older) boyfriend at the time studied in Delft... lol) Big thanks for entertaining us and teaching a myriad of new ideas! 💖 Hugs from Norway

As a photographer I love love love this!!!!!!!! I have both the coin holders and the optic frames. I’m gonna make my lens a bit grungy cuz vintage cameras usually have some grungy gunk trapped in the glass. Ohhh I might make it a bit deeper with tiny lights and a book box or something weird. Hahaha, you made me remember the time I was in Nederland and my friend said, "Let's go to Scheveningen tomorrow!" and I said, "Sche---what now?" Since then I am so proud I can pronounce and spell Scheveningen :D But being a true tropical girl I didn't even take off my jacket there, it was so windy! Btw, your creativity is top notch!
