They are very cheap. Probably would be considered disposable unless you have a friend who works on electronics for free. At least I'm keeping stuff out of the electronics recycling bin.
thank u so much for the video. you saved my life! my dvd was stuck in the player when the player died and I couldn't find anywhere online how to open the DVD tray manually, until i watched your video.
@@RomanEmpire117AD Same, but mine also won't open or close like it's suppose to. Doesn't seem to be the gears or belt. I can't figure out why. I see nothing broken.
Hi Mitch, Great video and you saved me a few hours of trying to disassemble this unit. The disc tray belt was broken. Can you direct me to where I might be able to purchase one? Grateful for any help - Dan
HI Again Mitch. I found the service manual chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/research.encompass.com/ZEN/sm/BP350N.pdf And also the part DECK MECHANISM SECTION, BM16D(SN12)pn 1015 with the part found on Amazon: www.amazon.com/Mechanism-Section-Square-Connector-REPLACES/dp/B08KGCH232
I some cases you can do an online search for belts for a certain model and someone will have taken the time to measure the belts and kit something up. This works well for turntables and some classic cassette tape recorders. Many times is easier and cheaper to just buy a "bag-o-belts" for Amazon or eBay. Try to measure the approximate size that you need and order a belt kit in that range. You should have plenty of left over belts for your next project.
When I removed the front cover, a plastic piece that connects to the tray fell out. When I replace the front cover, how do you reconnect that plastic piece.
my used sanyo dvd+blu ray gets stuck. but the remove dosen't work,. and it also won't play. I guess it's a brick?(is that the term?) I have to tap part of the carriage to get it to stop being stuck
@@mguess I have it worked out. I thought the remove was bad, but I just had the batteries in wrong. I don't know what is up with the player. it seems to work when it does. it was a hand me down due to it not being compatible with a tv. I need to touch the top of the carriage to get it to eject sometimes
It's amazing how incredibly cheap these players have become. My old Sony BDP-S300 is a tank compared to today's players.

I'm glad that the video helped you. Were you able to repair the DVD player?
@@mguessdidnt attempt to. that's beyond my abilities. I couldnt even put the screws back on.. hehe
Thank you Mitch!! Love your calming, Zen videos :) Now, I have this cassette deck....LOL
Thanks for keeping me supplied with UA-cam projects.
My disc reader lifts up too early and blocks the tray from closing back

Amazing, thanks very much for this video, in my case it looked like it was the contact to detect the door status that needed cleaning. Thank you.
Thanks for commenting and I'm glad that the video helped.
thanks man that video really help me fix mine👍
Great. I'm glad the video was helpful.
Is there something else you can use to clean the contact? As much as that stuff cost, might as well buy a new Blu-ray player.
Never mind, mine doesn't even have a contact thing.

I'm not sure what plastic piece you are referring to. I probably can't help without seeing the unit.
@mguess never mind. The unit was unfixable.

It might be time to pick up another used player. I've seen them at the thrift stores for $5 to $10.

Thanks for the video, I fixed my cd tray issue, now it gives me a "check disk" error
You may want to try cleaning the laser lens.
I've taken apart lots of these and saved the parts. Most always its a stuck tray or broken belt.
I've been hearing that stuck trays is very common.
