Hey great video. I watched other videos but yours told me exactly what I wanted to know. I didnt need any adapters at all. My hoses just went right on the bottom of the skimmer and I left the old pump on there just like you suggested. I left the impeller in the motor but the flow is great.I was even able to use one of the original hoses. The only thing I changed was that my pump and filter didnt come with a screen catch bucket for large debris. Thinking about what you said about the original basket floating and blocking the skimmer, I simply cut a small piece of wooden dowel rod just a bit longer than the width of my skimmer and wedged it above the basket to hold it in place. Works great and I can still use the basket for larger debris like leaves. Thanks for the great video.

Tried to connect the adaptor B to the original motor as you did but I think because I didn't have enough force on it to get it securely on, it kept popping off. I ended up cutting out the bottom of the skimmer as Ahendsb, TheskydiverPhoenix & J Sones did & it works great. I'll be posting my video soon. So, thanks again.
Rakel, you screw the nut all the way onto the adaptor b and then you work the rubber part onto the pump. then you start to loosen the nut so it toghtens the adaptor. ot will only fo approx half way but it more than enough pressure to make it all water tight.

Just wondering if you switched out the house connector that attaches to the wall while you had water in it. Also you said you used a knife to enlarge the whole in the pool wall to fit the Intex part. Could you let me know if that is what you did for sure. I have a Summer Escapes and it is full of water and I just when and bought the sand filter also and I did not want to drain the water down to the level of the wall connectors if I could make the change while the pool was full.Thanks

Hello rakel, what do you mean the black rubber part? Their are black rubber pkugs that come with the pool to pkug the hole while you are installing the pump. I have a feeling you are talking about something else. Please let me know. I ordered the adapter fitting on amazon & it greatky increased the water flow.
I have a Summer Escapes 10 x 30 size pool and have ordered the Intex 1600 GPH Saltwater System & Sand Pump Filtration Set. I am concerned now that I've made a mistake and that it will be too much for my little pool and will cause damage somehow. I'm thinking maybe purchasing the individual smaller units (the Intex 12" Easy Set Sand Pump and the Small Saltwater System 7,000 gallon) might have been a better idea, but I'm conflicted. I'd like to have more water pressure and filtration ability for the money if my pool can handle it. I have watched your videos and would respect your opinion. Thanks in advance. FYI, I did call Intex Customer Service and they said it the larger combined unit would work fine, but after getting off the phone with them, I questioned whether I could really trust the girl's opinion. She didn't seem that sure and more so like she just wanted me to buy their expensive product.
@Christa Burford: not sure if this advice is too late or not, but here goes... your Summer Escapes 10 foot x 30" pool only has an 1100 gallon capacity. You only require the Intex model # ECO7110 Saltwater System, as it handles *up to* 7000 gallons. The bigger concern is flow rate of your filter pump, which must be at least 700-3,000 gph. Believe it or not, the stock filter pump that comes with your Summer Escape pool pushes enough water to handle it, but I strongly recommend doing a sand filter as it's far superior. The entry level Intex that pushes 1200 gph would be more than adequate to filter your 10x30 pool. Good luck!

Hey Juan. I dont add anything to my pool. I keep the sandfilter timer on 8 hours (meaning it runs for 8 hrs every 24 hrs) & I keep my saltwater system timer set on 2 (which means it runs 2 hrs every 24 hours) but the sandfilter has to be running to keep the water pumping through your saltwater system when it's running. I dont do anything else to the pool other than vacuuming and it stays crystal clear. The kids also love it since they can open their eyes under water without having to worry about the burn. My summer escapes 15x42 did not come with the plunger valves, it just has regular hose to attach to pool. I bought a sand filter and it didn't come with those 2 plungers either. Will i have to order those or is there a way around it?
So i just converted but i bought an adapter from GAME. I am using a bestway 1200gph filter and im only getting a reading of 4 psi. Water flow into the pool is powerful and the suction is also powerful but it drops down to 0 occasionally then back to a max of 4. Is that a normal psi? BTW, the pool is a summer escapes 15x42. Does hose length matter?
hmm, sounds like something may be clogging the output of the filter. Is it a sand filter or cartridge? Yes, the length of the hose matters but only if it's extremely long (ie. if each hose is around 8 ft in length or so).
I have the summer escapes pool and purchased the 14'' Intec sand pump. I have it all ready to set up however, the connections are not matching up. Did you just purchase the whole Intex return set up? Hi. The 1200gpm would work but knowing what I know now I would recommend the larger pump for one reason. The larger the horsepower pump you have in you sandfilter means you will be able to vacuum the bottom of you pool with ease. The 1200gph filter will work no problem and will keep your pool very clean but it will lag when it's time to vacuum the bottom.
Where did you purchase your pump and fliter? We have the same exact summer waves pool and size and the dang pool didn't come with a pump/fliter now we have algae and the pool is only 2 weeks old please help us lol.
I did the same thing but the water heading back into the pool got stuck in the tube. It was like there wasn't enough pressure to complete the flow cycle. Did you have any issues like that? My only thought on it is that the return hole is to high.
if it is the same type of skimmer then yes. I also made a small change on our next pool by adding the sand filter intake vent to the bottom of the skimmer for improved water flow. check it out if you get a chance.

The adaptor that i used in the video at the 1:40 mark is the "B" adaptor. This one is included with the sand filter, or at least it should be. You can also call intex and tell them it was missing but the link for the skimmer adapter works so much better.

Hey we just bought the sand filter and were trying to convert our summer is scapes pool. The only issue that we have is that we found the gray valves but after you drill the hole in the bottom of the white skimmer did the valves just screw right on or is there a piece in between the gray valve and the white skimmer assembly?
Not sure I understand your question. If you purchase the adaptor from amazon then you dont have to drill into the skimmer. I ended up cutting a hile at the bottom of my skimmer and then grinded/sanded the grovers off ofbthe bottom and then installed the inlet that came with the sand filter in the bottom of the skimmer (after this video was shot). Please let me know if that was the answer you were looking for.

Yes, as long as the pool material arpund the inlet & outlet holes are thicker than the rest of the pool. The reason why is you will have to slightly cut both existing holes a little bit bigger for the new sand filter pieces to fit.
Yes, you can - I did. And no, despite what @abc Accessories stated, you absolutely do *NOT* need to cut anything bigger. I have the Summer Escape Easy round 18 foot x 48". The hoses, inlet, and outlet that comes with it are 1.25" and the Intex sand filter pumps are 1.5". All you need to connect it are a set of Intex Type B connectors (which actually come with their Krystal Clear Saltwater system). I know this has been a long time but Summer Wave does make a sand filter system but it doesn't have the strainer basket hooked to the pump and in my opinion that basket is a must with a sand filter system. Just go with an Intex or Hayward filter.
No. You can also remove the screws from the top and pull out the magnetic propeller. The best option is to remove it all together and replace it with a piece that you can purchase on amazon for about $12.

Hi mike. The intex sand filter like tgis one works great with the summer escapes.
If you put a river rock about 2" round in the skimmer basket it will keep the basket in place. It's an old pool man trick.

as for the basket in the skimmer..just simply put a golf ball size stone in it. works perfect. :)

It sounds like you have a closed valve on the return inlet or the pump filter is in the closed position. Did you check those two?

Hope Hannah Buy some bathtub plugs from the store. Block the holes with them take them out when you are done. That is what I did.

Hi. No, in fact the pressure is so high (once the air is purged from the filter) that it nearly shoots across the length of the pool).

I ended up cutting a hile at the bottom of my skimmer and then grinded/sanded the grovers off ofbthe bottom and then installed the inlet that came with the sand filter in the bottom of the skimmer (after this video was shot). I have a 16ft easy set up pool (summer escapes) and it doesn't have a skimmer just the 2 connections for the cheap cartridge filter it comes with can I upgrade to a sand filter like that or no?
Yes, as long as the pool material arpund the inlet & outlet holes are thicker than the rest of the pool. The reason why is you will have to slightly cut both existing holes a little bit bigger for the new sand filter pieces to fit.
Yes, you can - I did. And no, despite what @abc Accessories stated, you absolutely do *NOT* need to cut anything bigger. I have the Summer Escape Easy round 18 foot x 48". The hoses, inlet, and outlet that comes with it are 1.25" and the Intex sand filter pumps are 1.5". All you need to connect it are a set of Intex Type B connectors (which actually come with their Krystal Clear Saltwater system). These:

I picked up a Intex sand filter on fingure hut and I have a summer escape pool do they make a sand filter that's made for summer escape?
I know this has been a long time but Summer Wave does make a sand filter system but it doesn't have the strainer basket hooked to the pump and in my opinion that basket is a must with a sand filter system. Just go with an Intex or Hayward filter.

No. You can also remove the screws from the top and pull out the magnetic propeller. The best option is to remove it all together and replace it with a piece that you can purchase on amazon for about $12.
