I was working in a shop across from yours last month. It was six o'clock in the morning and I was excitedly telling my work colleagues "hey, that shop..I subscribe to them on UA-cam!!"
Appreciate Lawrences confirmation to my question in your last video that the bullion dealer concerned was NOT Atkinsons Bullion as albeit I buy regularly from Chards I also occasionally buy gold coins from them so that is reassuring..Wonderful service always from Lawrence and his staff😊😊
I love chards. Order lots from them over last few years. Great customer service and always reasonably priced. Just one suggestion I wish you would supply the Royal Mint screw or push capsules. Even if you add 50p.
We did look at getting our own screw capsules made, some years ago. TRM would not supply them. We do offer other capsules, usually lighthouse. Some people complain about us charging 50p! 😎
I’d put my life on your guarantee. The respect I have for your company is high. I’m not just buying gold, I’m also, in some sort of way investing in your company by buying from you and keeps your business, in business and your reputation is not worth losing over fake, fraudulent coins. You’re too clued up and on point to let things slip that way.
There are 3 or 4 bullion dealers, plus some pawnbrokers, jewellers, and ebay sellers. It's a good idea, but I am unsure whether they would want to take much notice, and may take the view that they are not there to take sides between competing businesses. I would be different if their customers made complaints.
I have bought from Chards, the service was very good. I am enjoying the vlogs too. The approach is reassuringly old fashioned. The prices always show carriage as an extra which I think is very transparent. I will definitely look to do more business in future.
Thanks for this positive response. We try to be honest and transparent within the business, having the expertise of Lawrence to educate the staff is brilliant! We hope to continue to provide you with good content. Thank you for the support! - Christian
Very informative and you seem like a very reasonable guy - you are never going to please everybody and some of those comments you went through did feel a bit unfair on you. Thanks for the great information and guidance from a potential customer from down south, if ever I am up Blackpool way I will try and drop by.
Seeing my comment mentioned really made my day-it feels amazing to know that you're taking the time to engage with your viewers in such a thoughtful way. Thank you for going above and beyond to connect with your audience. It’s clear how much effort you put in, and it doesn’t go unnoticed.Looking forward to more great content.

Thanks for the comment. This machine is a Niton XRF machine. This retails around £16,000. For collectors/investors at home, we would recommend our partner, TrustiMetrix, who supply Sigma Metalytics machines. We also use Sigma machines but the detailed analysis you get from the Niton is more advanced.
I trust chards 100% happy to buy from them anytime also if he named the dealer it could open him up to litigation if the person ended up buying them as middleastern coin and not sovereign coins he believes that seller but unless chards have 100% proof it could be a lawsuit for deformation 👍 keep up the good work
I've got a question with respect to wondering how, given the different mass of silver relative to copper, does the Royal Mint produce the new higher silver content golden Sovereigns, whilst keeping the same diameter and width /or/ keeping the same weight on the scale? There must be something else they chuck in there besides copper and silver then.
Before 1957, there was a small silver content, around 3 to 4 ppt. Any change back will only create a tiny, probably imperceptible, difference in thickness.
When the USA outlawed gold coinage ownership in 1933, but did allow numismatic collecting, American travellers abroad bought counterfeit gold British coins in Turkey, Egypt, and India, and brought them home as "old numismatic coins" for the gold value.
@@lawrencechard5914 I heard this a number of years ago from a California coin dealer who told me about the time he came into a hoard of fake (but actual gold) British Sovereigns that the seller's father had purchased wile working as a contractor abroad -- in Turkey, if i remember correctly. The maker was using them in jewellry and also selling them as coins. The son knew that the coins were counterfeits, because his father had told him so. The dealer purchased them for their gold content and sent them to the refinery.
Not wise to name and shame. You’d be sued in no time. Matter of hearsay as to whether “the exact” coin came from said dealer. Given they’re not uniquely numbered etc
Holy shit, almost 34 minutes of Waffle and talking about nothing. Either you name the dealer and the people will reach their own conclusion whether it was a slight mishap or something more sinister or you just stop flaming the topic and being cryptic and talking in riddles.

If there are frequent issues with a certain dealer, I wonder if it would be worthwhile informing Trading Standards?

Very common cadmium in Indian silver jewellery as it is added to make it much more shiny and reduces oxidation or tarnishing 😊
Good evening Chards crew 😎👍🏼

Absolutely. It’s fine to shout about naming and shaming when you have no skin in the game.

The 2025 silver sovereign will have a mark so if plated will be obvious
You are quite right, it should be obvious, but so should the Arabic stamp marks!
If you mean the privy mark, they won't all have that. But anyway, the silver one will be thicker for the same weight.
@@mint_mark Good point. It won't stop somebody from trying to flog gold-plated ones on ebay, as gold sovereigns! Am I being cynical?
