1:58 Actually, the UAE and Oman have free movement.
So no borders
I went to those enclaves in Oman/UAE in Dec 2019. There is no border controls at all. You have to pay attention to the different ruler pictures to even know you have crossed the border. Also, you can't really drive from Oman to UAE to Oman to UAE to Oman to UAE to Oman because the roads don't work like that. To get into enclaves you get off the main coastal road and drive into the area, then backtrack out.
@@RogersMgmtGroup yeah thats exactly what i thought. He just tried to make it more interesting and dramatic about the 6 checkpoints.
Are those countries Emirates right?
Alejandro Mechina The UAE is Emirates.
When you see strange borders, it is very likely that the UK played a role there.
British or Soviets were better in messing up borders,it is tough call
Yes everywhere they colonised they often left a mess and partition behind. Look at Ireland.
Yet if you watch the actual video you'll find it was pretty much everyone doing it.
The more extensive your reach . . . the more extensive the side effects of your reach. B-)
wiki: "The EMPIRE On Which The SUN NEVER SETS was used to describe certain global empires that were so extensive it seemed it was always daytime in part of its territory. ...originally ...Empire of Charles V, who, as Duke of Burgundy, King of Spain, Archduke of Austria, and Holy Roman Emperor, attempted to build a universal monarchy. The term was then used for the Spanish Empire of Philip II of Spain and successors when the empire reached a global territorial size, particularly in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries.
"It was used for the British Empire, mainly in the 19th and early 20th centuries, a period in which the British Empire reached a global territorial size. In the 20th century, the phrase has sometimes been adapted to refer to the global reach of American power. "

Most people hate “the other.” Anyone with a different language, ethnicity, or way of life is viewed as a threat. This goes back to humanity’s roots as social primates in small kinship groups, similar to chimpanzees.
There are a few humans who are not inherently bigoted, but most are significantly different than the “”norm”” psychologically (travelers usually lack this impulse, as we want to experience other cultures).
I’m not sure what the solution would be, if there is one. Perhaps having rational AI make all major political decisions, to get around human in-group instinct?

what about the borders of belgium? especially to the netherlands, there are at least 20 exclaves in and around a small city :D
5:31 And look at Sokh's panhandle.
You forgot about Baarle nassau, a Really messed up enclave of Belgium in the Netherlands
If you plan on doing more of these, you should look into Croatia, specifically the border with Bosnia in the southeast of Croatia. There's a small panhandle of Bosnia that reaches the Adriatic Sea and separates a whole area of Croatia, but that access to the sea is almost completely surrounded by Croatian peninsulas and islands. I believe Croatia gave that area to Bosnia during their war with Serbia, but actually that whole area is full of historic borders from when it was all Yugoslavia, so I'm sure there are plenty of bizarre borders around there. Not to mention people that consider themselves from a nationality that's not the country they actually live in.
It's a treat whenever I see your new upload :D

If there's no cooperation, it's definitely a ripoff. Three out of the four examples in this video were already covered in almost the exact same way by WonderWhy. (UAE-Oman counter-exclave, Cyprus, and the Central Asian border complex)

I would love to see a video on why Cyprus is the way it is today, i would look at it on google maps and always wonder why it had like 5 different borders. its nothing a google search wont fix but id think id much rather watch a video real like lore would do on this instead.
Tommy Cochran Basically after Greek Cypriots liberated the island from British colony the British armed the Turkish Cypriots with weapons to fight the Greek Cypriots then turkey intervened and illegally occupy the north part of the island. Historically Cyprus has always been Greek for thousands of years until illegal Turkish settlers came.
It basiaclly became like this because the Greek army started to massacre the Turkish population living on Cyprus. So the Turks striked the Greek army back and declared a new country for the in Cyprus living Turkish people.
Theodoros Maraziotis Who teached you history? Makarios III? Ever heard about the genocide under the protection of the UN?
Grädde lmao 400 Turkish Cypriots died and 267 Greek Cypriots died and you call it a genocide??? What about the 3.5 million Christians who died in 1920.
Well let's call it ethnic cleansing then. Those who died in 1920 is another topic and should not be compared with the Cyprus crisis, though both were caused by Greek failure.

the strangest border is arguably the Indian - Bangladeshi border. seriously, way too many enclaves. (used to be home of THE ONLY triple enclave, its gone now.)
the craziest border in the world with enklaves is definately the Netherlands Belgium border in the city Baarle Hertog.

At the time of your post, India-Bangladesh enclaves were crazier. There was even a fourth-degree enclave.

“The reason that these exist in two words is Joseph Stalin”
That is a great quote
Have you ever heard of Baarle-Nassau / Baarle-Hertog. That has very strange borders.
Nobody:
Borders in the middle east: yes
Those exclaves look like a weird mosaic on a flat paper map, but in reality they may be surrounded by mountains or inhabited deserts so they are much easier accessible via tunnels or roads from the countries where they belong administratively rather than from the surrounding countries.
4:18 boy are you not ready to see belgium and the netherlands
When some weird shit happen, blame Stalin.
@Joseph Stalin USA USA USA
Are there any national co-enclaves? That's where two separate entities side-by-side are together completely surrounded by a larger entity. You can travel between them but not anywhere else without passing through the larger entity. Probably the best known co-enclave is at the municipal level, Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, California, sharing a common boundary but together completely surrounded by the City of Los Angeles.
Also two other lakes are separated by borders. the Doirani lake is separated by North Macedonia and Greece
4:41 the first time Stalin is mentioned when he isn't killing millions
People in the arab just realized the shit they in: Oh MAN
If you think the borders a weird in Central Asia you should see the road systems to get around them.
When you get a taxi you have to be very specific about what visas you have of could have big problems.
Turkey "LOL no"
An exclave with in an a exclave, it’s like inception but with land.
I mean is it really “possible” to go through that many borders if the roads clearly don’t just take you that way and it would be a longer route, just to wait 6 times? Probably not .
Thanks for video. It is very interesting.
*Starts to zoom into India*
"Aw man, not the India-Bangladesh ex-"
I was thinking the same thing 😅
Ngl but that rectangle be looking like an RTX 3090
Bald and Bankrupt went early this year to Sokh!
Well, the story behind those enclaves/exclaves is a bit more complicated than "Stalin/Russia bad" and keep in mind that during Soviet times it wasn't such a problem, as it was one country/
25% percent is covered by land after all, so weird borders are to be expected.
The other 75% is of course covered by James Milner
Very interesting, thank you
He forgot the MOST craziest one.
The Indian - Bangladesh exclaves.
Mini potato Kurenai most craziest is grammatically incorrect
Ceuta and Melilla - Spanish enclaves on the north Moroccan coast. Only part of the EU in Africa.
What about Baarle-Hertog en Baarle-Nassau (Belgium and The Netherlands)

You can easily see why the Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan borders are like that once you look at the geography; they're all trying to claim rivers in an area of the world which is very arid and lacking in good arable land.
