I thought of the Mixed Cast P5A from your Train Horn Origins 11 video, which included a P5A. And if I listen closely, I can hear the notes of C#, F, G#, A# and C#. Now if I reduce this horn sample played at 8:39 by one semitone (because the horn was at a certain speed for the Doppler effect), you can hear the notes of F, A# and C#, which the Mixed Cast P5A had those same notes in the first place! So do you think this horn sample was a Mixed Cast P5A instead of an Old Cast? Cuz that’s what I think. I think if you listen to the horn at 8:39, and the Mixed Cast P5A in your “Model Train Whistle Origin (11)” video, you might find a similarity, if you do, what do you think?

T128Productions, call me a critic but here I just wanted to share my opinions on what I think of these horns! 4:01, 4:02, 4:06, 4:08, and 4:12 Why can’t Amtrak Siemens Chargers let alone Nathan have these K5LA’s tuned this good of a way? I want them tuned like these because these sound much better than the newer ones which in my opinion sound NOTHING like these tuned! I WANT THE K5LA’S TO BE TUNED THIS WAY!!😫 (And I despise the Siemens Charger) 5:30 and 5:35 T128Productions, trust me, both of these two horns sound almost alike the ones used on Metra cars, they give me Metra cab car vibes (Some Metra Cab Ca K3LA’s are B Major, and some a B Augmented) (And fun fact, Metra cab cars used to have K5LAs, P5s, AA2s, and a lot of other horns that used to belong to former railroads on which the cab cars were used on. The K5LA’s were excellently tuned, which is why I want the K5LA’s that don’t sound great to sound much better you know?)😀 8:39 To be honest this horn sample kinda sounds like Union Pacific #6612’s pervious horn, one time when I was in Elmhurst Illinois at night, I saw this locomotive and the horn had a similar chord to this sample not gonna lie, look it up on UA-cam Shorts to see what I’m talking about😏 1:34 and 7:37 Why does the P3 and M3 have a similar tuning? Can’t Nathan at least put a little effort into making the M3 having a deeper tune in my opinion because they sound a little bit the same.🤔 And to be honest at 1:23 and at 7:51, these two kind of feel like they have the same Doppler sound, a little similar. And at first, I thought the M3 was used on lots of GO Transit locomotives (when only the lower two of the M3 are blowing), but it turns out it was the K5CAs🤨 And finally at 11:08, if you are not sure what the locomotive with both the Leslie A-200 and A-125, I think the possible locomotive could be South Shore Line Little Joe 803, look up it’s horn and you will see😏 If you see this comment WHICH I HOPE, write what you have to say for each review I said and what you think!!😃😃😃
1) I knew someone was going to say something about the K5LAs, and frankly it really would’ve changed how the Chargers would’ve sounded. Same goes with the ACS-64 Sprinter locomotives. Perhaps any die-hard AEM-7 fan would’ve loved to hear one of those old horns sounding off on a Sprinter. 2) Now that you mentioned Metra’s cab cars, I knew they used to have K5LAs, and also the S2Ms as well, but I don’t recall hearing about them being fitted with AA2s and P5s. Probably heard it on a really old recording idk. Also, these K3LAs really sound identical. Now that you mentioned the K5LAs, it would be nice for these cab cars to have those horns once again. Same with the S2Ms, which I would personally love to hear return one day. 3) Well I was able to look up Union Pacific #6612, I can agree that it really did sound weird, but the horn sounded way different compared to the sound effect you mentioned. The horn sfx sounded more like a P5 or a P3 than a K3LA, even if both of these types of horns were out of tune. It may or may not be a coincidence if they start messing up like that. 4) The reason why the P3 and M3 horns sound identical is because they had the same tuning. The only difference is not because of the letter classification, but it’s the design differences between the both types, and the M3 uses way more air pressure when sounded while the P3 uses less. As for the M3s, they were very difficult to maintain in comparison to the P3s. Also, we never talk about K5CA horns because they sound horrendous. Blame it on Canada’s railway mandates! No wonder why we miss the M3s so bad! 5) The Leslie A-125 is basically the A-200’s little sister. Unlike the 200s which have a deep tone when blown, the 125s meanwhile have a high pitched tone in comparison. You can barely hear it at 11:08 because it is a very old recording. Not to mention that the A-200 was much louder in comparison with the A-125. Also, for your fourth opinion, I believe this would be the correct emoji when you mentioned the K5CA: 😫

TBH, if I made this video. I would include more train source videos, like for example in the Nathan P3 part, I would also include all South Shore Line passenger trains (because if I say “All South Shore Line trains” some people would think that I would also be referring to the freight engines. Which I originally thought they had P3’s but they have RS3Ks, RS3Ls, and RS5T’s. And that’s just one of the examples to add, oh and do you think Horn 15 for K3LA was an ATSF SD75M, do you think so?
It’s possible, except I can’t guarantee if Horn 15 actually originated from an SD75M. It sounded familiar, except I got it from a TM video which is not exactly a stock sound effect like the ones on Sound Ideas and Sounddogs. Also what you said about adding more sources, I would basically flood the whole description which prohibits me from adding more sources, which left me no choice but to limit me only to a few (like 1 or 2) sources just to prove a point that the horns are not only possible guesses since they sound identical, but to also have an idea of what certain trains must’ve sounded like when these sounds were recorded. Most of them were from the 1990s, or even before, which most of the P3 horns I found were from the SP. Most of them anyway, I mean I know that several other railroads have used the same type of horn (I mean look at the one clip of a Norfolk Southern locomotive I used) which proves that any railroad can still use the same horn type, even though they are virtually one of the most rare types ever used. Sorry if this sounds a bit rushed, but I’m in the middle of finishing my homework and I can’t get to working on my videos unless if I am finished and I am done helping with my parents, which seems to be like groundhogs day where everyday is the same routine.
The Cotton Belt (SSW) had K5Hs on their locomotives, and also worked with the SP as well. Although, I highly doubt that any SP locomotive (the non-SSW ones) had K5Hs. I believe so.
It wasn't just BC Rail that had the horn. CSX, C&NW, Norfolk Southern, and Southern Pacific had their handful.
The Cotton Belt (SSW) had K5Hs on their locomotives, and also worked with the SP as well. Although, I highly doubt that any SP locomotive (the non-SSW ones) had K5Hs.
