I had one of these for a few years before I sold it when money was tight. Great pedal and super easy to dial in good tones. I'd love to get another if I could ever find one.
Yes. I use a PQ-9 in the back of my Tech 21 when I need more brightness. When not gigging, I wrap it in plastic to keep the pots clean. The will magnify any hiss or hum coming from the pedal. Probably the most useful pedal I own.
Great demo & playing!! I had one for a while a couple of years ago, and it was perfect for filling out your tone and warming things up. It was part of one of my best gear scores ever - a PQ-401, FL-301, and a CS-9 for $15! I sold all 3 for a big profit, but I miss them all and should've just kept them. I see you've got a killer vintage Ibanez & Maxon collection.
It's amazing that they don't make these type pedals anymore. The 'sweet spot' on electric guitars and for sound in general is 600 Hz. Boost that a couple dbs and you're set. 3:20 in the vid sounded best to me but +12 db is too much. Thanks for posting.
Great Sound and Playing! I have The same and the GE-601 too. They're both really great. It's like having an additional amp for the different sounds you get. I'd like to use it with power supply too, but I don't know the polarisation. Could you tell me please if it's negative or positive tip. Would be a great help. I couldn't find any info in the web. Thanks a lot ! $15 was a very affordable price... I think the best solution to get those sounds is to build clones from companies such BYOC or Musikding... Pedals sound almost the same than original ones but for a little fraction of the original price...
