1:22 and I’m already sold!😂 you can route a track and mute a track? Idk any other controller that lets you do that 🥰🥰🥰
fader port
This device is the Innovator of Innovators! x)
I've had these he isn't mentioning that the faders are not millimetre perfect that is a big one for me and the meters are so whack
The computer mouse is the only controller that does what it claims to do. After investing in two controllers, I gave up back to my computer mouse works just fine minus the headache.😊
I can agree to that 100%! The mouse is o’l reliable! This device though really makes it easier on you in terms of having shortcut keys or functions right there in your view, both in and out of the daw.
I’ve used an X-Touch, X-Touch One, Panarama P1 and my current Arturia Keylab 61 which does everything I need. Add in a cheap old iPad with a remote app for either Logic Pro or Studio One and you have everything other than motorized faders. I got over motorized faders pretty quick.
@@CraigScottFrostI heard that. One other thing to check out is stream deck mobile for iPad. It can be used for daws that don’t have an app. I just started using it and it’s pretty awesome so far. Gonna use it with cubase 13 pro because the cubase app is meh. 🎹♥️
@@CraigScottFrost How good is Nektar Panorama P1 with Logic (11)?
@@OmoiSenpai is This also working with reason 12 ?
Your only talking about Fl Studio
yo ive been subbed to you since way back and just saw this vid in my feed. glad to see how far youve come nice work
Ayee I see ya! And yeah UA-cam being a hoe to me nowadays. haha.
Same here lol.but with another account
Wow! How did we miss this? It's like an MCU Pro and two Stream Decks combined! And in a neatly compact formfactor. Need to do look into it... ✨🙌
Got the 1 channel version of this and the softube console 1 mkIII. I use Cubase and I am loving both. Could have went with the ssl controllers but in my opinion, these two in combination is the best rout for me. Especially now that fabfilter teamed up with softube so their plug-ins can be used with console 1
I am HUGE fan of controllers! That programmable section, a la “Sound Flow,” is a proverbial “game-changer”! I’m not gonna lie.
Looks freakin’ DOPE!
It really is :D There is so much potential and combinations to make the workflow more hands-on which really boosts up the creativity mood!
so ironic that in December 23 i came across this controller and put it on my wish list bc it seemed the best one for FL Studio that i researched so seeing this is confirmation
The Platform M+ is definitely a solid device for FL Studio, especially when those 3 buttons are switched out. I like when a controller is dedicated to just one section of a software. Similar to an actual controller that is meant to play the game, rather than to turn your house lights on or off alongside it. :3
Icon is absolut on the right track while it goes beyond the minimal Mackie / one Cntrl DAW basic script functionality...& they added a setup software that works really well...
Some more rotary encoder per channel and modes for that ,.. or a dedicated 8 Macro encoder / device section would be cool + a scroll touchstrip..
Thanks for the video review! One thing that you made very clear in the beginning of your video was how cost effective it is. But you never mentioned the cost! So - I looked up the price and my Mackie MCU (used in perfect condition) costs much less and I am very happy with it. Not only did Mackie invent the market, but mine destroyed your video. :)
The Mackie MCU Device is of course the OG, but it doesn't have these new functions that the P1-M has, which can be very beneficial to users, especially those who struggle with memorizing keyboard shortcuts or are not so tech-savy.
I did mention the price, but in another video that I've posted alongside this video. I linked that video in the end of this one.
@@OmoiSenpai You are right. I could have paid a couple of extra hundred extra to be able to easily play Solitaire. :) All seriousness aside, I cannot fathom anyone being able to understand today's DAWs deep functions and not know how to use basic keyboard functions that have been around for decades. Maybe a future video can focus on MS-DOS macro key functions.
awesome
Its very easy to use !!
Mr SenpaI !!!!!
Very Very Easy indeed ^_^
Nice Info :) never new you could use it to work a video editor
Oh yes! :D Although, with Davinci Studio, their software only lets me use the faders along with the mute solo record buttons. I guess their software doesn't allow the transport controls as far as I know of.
@@OmoiSenpai Thanks for the Info :) How do you get to set it as a device if its not in the list on Imap software ?
No Problem! FL Studio has a Forum Board on their website that has a community that speaks about Midi Scripting. That is, to be able to upload their own scripts into FL Studio to have their devices work as best as possible.
Say, for example, with this P1-M, the additional display unit does not currently show their colored scribble strips in FL Studio, BUT a developer sent me an unfinished script that does show the scribble strip colors. I'll be posting that on iCon's UA-cam Channel. I'll have to work on recording that video right now!
@@OmoiSenpai Hay thanks for the info :) I can't understand Icon these products could be so much better and intagrate so much better with just a little bit more effort.. The V1m is my second controler i have from them also have a G series in my kids studio but again I just feel a little disappointed that they did not try harder :( Hopefully someone figures out how to do this for Cubase Nuendo as colour is a big part of my workflow :)
The Faderport would like to speak with you
Talk to Thy Hand :3 lol jk jk
@@OmoiSenpai SSL would like a few words too.😄✌🏾
Faderport lacks A LOT of functionality compared to the Icon controllers. Not having separate pan knobs killed the Presonus controllers for me, even as a Studio One user.
@@gfromshankside so what do you suggest as a 16 fader competitor? I don’t want less than that many at least
Apparently this is the best DAW for FL. Did you have to do the mapping yourself?
Nope! The Mapping is Mackie Control Universal. It's already a Controller script in FL Studio! ^_^
I wanted this model so bad. Then I went through a minimal studio layout thing to free up space. It’s a good controller, but just an unnecessary luxury item.
I've used this device for about... like 4 months or so. Having this and the extender together makes it impossible to have the FL Key 37 up front and center on my table.
On one hand, it lets me focus on the mixing task, but on the other, swapping the devices were annoying to do. What I've done, is have a table in my 4 o'clock position, and just set up the Midi Keyboard there instead.
It's definitely a give and take, and the desk and room size in general plays a huge part in the matter.
Don't got money to get this device but it is so worth the money if u can get it 1000%
I feel ya on that! It's definitely a hit in the wallet. T_T
@@OmoiSenpai I got court in an hour and I got high asf I'm so fucked xD
@@TCRRevived Oh Shiid. lmao Imma see ya back in like 3 or 4 years! Free TCR!
I wonder if it works with the MPC
Does it work with MPC software?
So, I just tried it on MPC Beats ( I don't use it but I have it) It apparently reads the Midi Inputs, but does not seem to do what it's told. If I knew how to set the controller's type as a Mackie Control type, then maybe something would happen.
Unfortunately, I don't believe that it would be possible. :(
In fact, this is my guess, but I believe only MPC's Midi devices would work in that software (and the audio interfaces of course)
How long will it last before nothing is compatible with it I give two years if that before it becomes obsolete and useless I have ssl nucleus mk1 which cost at the time £2500 its been chucked in control of the studio for last 8 years the mouse is good for me
I used the Platform M+ (iCon's legacy device) for over like 4+ Years and it still works as new. I'm pretty sure that the P1-M isin't going to go anywhere lol.
@@OmoiSenpai time will tell mate 👍🏿
If it's compatible with protools
I buy it I do need daw controller
Yep! The P1-M is indeed compatible with ProTools!
I am almost certain that any device created in the future will include ProTools since it's the staple of DAW's
A cheap android tablet and TouchDAW would do the exact same things (minus the physical feel) at 1/5th the price
Look I love Icon devices and worked with them countless times.I still use this shitty but lovely I-keyboard X .But this item is still 599 and 499 for the extension. With 200 extra you get the SSL one and adding on your ecosystem. If it was priced 399 + 299 the extension it would be the ''best daw '' controller 🤣.Great video overall
Thanks! I am assuming that you're speaking about the SSL UF1 right? I am not a fan of Only 1 fader devices, mainly because I can use my mouse at that point. But it does have a cool display for the visuals, which does help when you want to save space on the screen.. To me, it doesn't seem like it offers much other than that compared to this P1-M device in terms of the opportunities available for customization.
But yeah the prices for these DAW Controllers overall are no joke, but it's an investment nonetheless!
@@OmoiSenpai Nope.I was referring to UF8 and then I googled to realize that the price now is off the roof....Sadly !
Ah, I see I see. Devices that Appreciate in price only means that it's a great device to get! :D
@@OmoiSenpai Very low level comment but I laughed :P ( no it's not ONLY about the price )
True that. The SSL Fusion when I've invested into it was around $2,500 then a few years later, it went up to 2,800, and now I see them for around 1,900 T_T
Sep wimmen mos def
SSL for me best i love mu uf8 uf1 and uc1 :)
I've been hearing a lot of comments from the audience in terms of the UF8. I think I should hit up SSL to see if they'll throw one my way to a video!
Seems very basic.. I already have the dock and S3 but the avid Eucon system is a bit buggy, crashes freezes at times, but it’s the best controller for PT people who can’t afford an S4 or S6. And are willing to put up with the occasional freeze ups. The I pad connection is great but technically unstable unlike the dedicated screens hard wired into the base controller units.
I don't trust ANY products from companies who I can't contact.
You can KEEP this controller, player (as nice as it appears).
You tried contacting iCon about a product before? Which one and what was the issue with it? :o
its an audio interface
Nope! It is not and Audio Interface. This is a DAW Controller, it's entirely Midi.
I have an Akai APC 40 MK2 and it's way better than this, perfect for Ableton especially.
That is not a "DAW' Controller" That is more of a Performance Controller per se'. But colorful buttons, I always love to see color on devices most definitely! Brings out the creativity. ^_^
@@OmoiSenpai I can get it to CC learn, control volume, mute, record, arm, solo, control all the effects (stock and third party), tempo control, cross fade, and anything else I need without using a useless mouse. I have been recording for over thirty years, came from an analogue desk and now ITB with the Akai, best transition ever and it definitely IS a controller when you know how to operate it properly. It's not just pretty colours and flashing lights.
Not even close to being the best DAW controller out there, but a decent bit of kit for hotel room sessions and similar. 😉🎧 Or to be more specific: It's a cheap little toy - but a fun gadget, that can be inspiring to work with out of the studio.
What?! Tell me of a DAW Controller that has 80 customizable touchpad functions, and 3 Midi Devices in itself. Then we'll talk lol. :P
Some surely wont buy this mixer thru your amazon link , because you dont let them link their own channel to get own support from viewers
Maybe you want to protect you channel from people who just scam or sth
But for the ones who just want to support each they cant link their music or own video and opinion to a product
I dint have any problems with it
I just explain my thoughts about it cause if i use a link in my comnent it will not be post it will be erased 😂😂😂
People linked Cracked Software and the companies tried to take me down for that.
😎🫡
Another tool that only works great in the “influencer’s” system… sorry, but that’s the very sad truth…
Define Influencer's system for us, cause I got no idea what that means :P
buy a mixer
I have a SSL Fusion with my Audio Mastering Chain, so my signals definitely leave the digital realm in the end.
They send it to pro tools because we’re grown here we’re not kids we don’t play with toys like FL
Pro Tools is a 43 year old that tries to act like it’s still 18.
@@OmoiSenpai pro tools is the industry standard, and FL is literally a video game. It makes anybody sound good, real producers know on PT you forced to produce fr fr That’s why FL users fear it.
UA LUNA > pro tools.
@@envisagefilmshouston pro tools is not the industry standard. That term doesn't exist anymore.
PT was the "Industry Standard" because it was the main DAW back in the days that everybody used compared to it's competitors. It's the default in the USA because of tradition and education. Studio One and Ableton are also starting to take over these studios nowadays though.
But FL Studio is truly an underdog, and most of what people listen to nowadays had it's beats built from either FL, Logic Pro, or Ableton.
