  • This is our second Tesla video sharing our experience after being full time in the motorhome for 2 years. The Tesla has not yet hindered anywhere we want to go or anything we want to go see and do in an area we visit. I dig into more details than the last Tesla video.

@@TeslaOutage it’s very rare for us and limited to inside a campground. And we reduce weight inside the trailer and manage tongue weight to 300 or less pounds.

Plugged into the rv are you gaining about 10ish miles per hour range or a bit less? Also should the rv need a full 50 amps will the car charger shut off?

@@weighit we don’t charge on 120v at all. We share the 50amp plug normally and just keep the car draw at or below 16a. The car isn’t able to know what the motorhome needs or is drawing. It’s up to me to manage the pedestal. If we can get the charge where we need it overnight at something less than 16a then I do that. But at 16a on the car, the motorhome can be running both ac units, using the microwave and cook top, etc. I have used the 30 amp plug on the pedestal. But with one hot leg, the 30a really is slower than being on the 50amp. It can work to use 30a. Just doesn’t let me crank it up when needed. If weather is perfect and no ac is needed I can easily set the car to 32a to speed the charge. It’s rare that we would need that.
