Glad I'm not the only person who wipes down everything at my seat. I also have one pair of disposable gloves in a tiny ziploc that I don before boarding so I can wuipe everything down safely and quickly without holding up anyone else. Then I slip gloves and used wipes into the produce bag I have stuffed in my sleeve, so I'm not starting out the flight with garbage everywhere. I use the bag for other garbage during my flight - the flight attendants appreciate not having to touch passengers' dirty refuse.
@@TheoryofSimple We used to do that with hankies when I was a kid. Because, of course, girls' dresses never had pockets! And that went double for the horrid white blouses and navy skirts we had to wear to school. So there was always a hankie tucked into my sleeve.
This may have been a recommendation by Eunice, but Amazon has little trash bags with a sticky strip that you can stick to a surface like the seat back in front of you. I used them on a recent flight, and they were so handy! I always used to bring a little roll of doggy bags when my kids were little, but these things are even better because they are always accessible.
I have to tell you, Eunice, that I recently flew to Ireland and I bought one of the Contiga coffee mugs that you always recommend. I even filled it with hot water from a coffee shop before boarding my flight so I could make my own coffee/tea. I followed a lot of tips you have recommended and packed some of the little gadgets you have recommended, etc. I received a compliment from a lady sitting next to me at the end of my flight about how well organized I was. That is thanks to you. Your tips helped make my flight so much more comfortable. (I didn't get around to making a bento box like you did with David, but I did all right!) :)
That is the best compliment that I could get!🙏💕😊 thank you so much for sharing that with me and I am so happy that he’s travel hacks are helping you travel a little bit easier and be more organized! I hope you had a wonderful trip to Ireland! Thank you so much for letting me know this!💕💕💕
Amazing videos with so much useful & helpful info. Thanks so much for sharing & hopefully I will be travelling soon. Have not been on a plane for a long time!
Wow! You've updated your personal item bag. It used to be that wheeled underseater, if I remember correctly. I love how your new bag opens like a clamshell. It makes it easier to go through TSA. The problem for me with that bag is that it has no wheels. I don't bring a wheeled carry-on luggage anymore (I just do personal items these days and check in everything else) so shouldering that bag would make my back protest after only a few minutes. Picked up a few ideas though so I'm hoping to test them on my next flight out. Thank you!
Thank you so much and you have a great memory! Yes, I do you have that wheel roller and I like it but it doesn’t carry as much as the Bento Bag. And I do understand that pain point of if you have to carry a bag around and it doesn’t have rollers I can get really heavy.! if I only had one bag to take I love the Bento Bag and if it’s somewhere where I’m gonna be in my car and not necessarily lugging it around, definitely would take a Bento Bag with me, but if you are going to be traveling through an airport in through layovers you might want to stick with a roller bag🙏😊💕
I love my Bento Bag. I have an older version and it’s amazing how much you can stuff in there! Makes ME feel like Mary Poppins! It goes on every trip with me.
I've used the original Bento Bag for a while, now. This year I bought a $30 Bagsmart version that is lighter, fits more, but doesn't quite have the structure of the BB. If it weren't for the exorbitant price, I'd upgrade my BB to the new one. I enjoy your videos!
Let me know how you like a bag, smart bag. I travel a lot, so I noticed some of the cheaper bag start to break down or I’m even had one tear getting caught under something in the seat so I tend to like something a little more structured and that I know we’ll always fit under the seat and hold up.😊💕
Yet again you amaze us all with your hacks! This bag is perfect!! I took a trip over labor day weekend and I used your clothes folding method. I was able to get all of my clothes into one packing cube! That included a nice dress for going to dinner as well as regular daytime outfits. Thank you again for your inspiration!
I have a version three of this bag. I wanted to use it when we flew to visit family on British Airlines, but it was too big to be a personal item. I love the revamp of the V4 though, with that water bottle pocket. Now it just needs backpack straps!
Yes, I’d love backpack straps as well. In the meantime, is it possible to wear it “backpack style” by putting your arms through the 2 handles, or are they too short?
@@lisamerriman255 the leather handles are too short for me to get on as a backpack but I would prefer to carry that cross body with the shoulder strap and then you can swing it around back behind you then I have Les wait on the upper part of my back, and then the lower part of my Mac and carry it so my center of gravity is better😊💕
Ooops, missed the beginning, I thought it was premiering tomorrow. Will have to watch again after it goes off live. This looks like a better design than my bento bag, which was the prototype - I got mine when the company was doing their original Kickstarter. It looks like they've made some improvements. I like the top and hat matching the bag!! You have such a great sense of style, Eunice! I agree with you about making the personal item bag heavier to make it easier to lift up the roller bag. As long as I can carry it if they make me gate check my roller bag, which they did on my last trip.
I totally love the idea of using hiking socks as a shoe bag!! Great use of space. I would probably add a small cross body bag with a silky tank top that will wash and dry overnight, and 4 or 5 transparent, scarf-like tops that go over it. In winter, I'd use the same scarf-tops over a thin turtleneck. I normally use my Kipling Alvar purse for travel - it looks reasonably nice, and takes up almost no space, but fits a lot.
Yes, that tank top that is in the stadium bag is something that I can wash and dry out quickly and use them as pajamas or as a quick little silky tank top to dress up💕😊
I have a question… would I still be able to take a carry-on bag onto the plane to put in the overhead bin? Could this bag take the place of a purse because it can go under the seat? Guess I’m confused.
@@mwoods1052 so you can bring any bag onto the plane and put it either under the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin. They ask that you put your bag under the seat in front of you most of the time if you’re only bringing one bag so it’ll save room in the overhead bins for larger suitcases but yes, you can put this bag in the overhead bin, and then, if you wanted to bring a purse, put that underneath the seat in front of you.
First off ... you look absolutely gorgeous!! Secondly, I love these videos. People are always amazed at what I can magic out of my bag at a moment's notice but you beat me, hands down 👍
Thank you so much! Truly appreciate the compliment, especially since I’m just recovering from a bee sting to the eye! I’m so glad you are like me and have a Mary Poppins bag! We are always the ones who carry everything and people make fun of us, but we always have everything they need when they ask for it💕😊
Eunice! Thank you for the budgeting idea you told me earlier. Well, I DID IT. I sold some hiking things I can no longer use, then ordered the Bento V4. While waiting for the bag to arrive, I used your tips to create my Capsule Wardrobe. The bag arrived today and I had it packed within an hour for a full 2+ weeks. That bag is AhhhMazing, and you are The Best. Thank you, Janet
Oh, Janet! Your comment just made my day! I’m so happy that that video gave me some great hacks, and that Bento bag is going to work out for you! I’m excited for you to take the trip! Thank you so much for letting me know! 💕😊
@@TheoryofSimple And side note: fully packed (probably a bit over-stuffed) the bag weighs 15 lbs. I'm retired so no laptop/cords, just the iPhone/cords/plugs/power bank. This allowed me to make this bag do me well for a two-week trip. And, IT'S SO PRETTY! 😂 💝
I thoroughly enjoyed your video and, as always, learned a great deal. I also consider myself a bit like Mary Poppins, striving to fit the maximum amount of items into the smallest footprint. So, I'm consistently impressed with your packing skills and how efficiently you utilize your bags. It's truly remarkable how much thought you put into your packing, especially in terms of accessibility, ensuring that the most frequently used items are easily reachable by the zippers. Great job!
Thank you so much! I actually do enjoy putting these things together because it’s kind of like a puzzle for me to see what do I actually need and then what do I want and how do I fit into the bag! This bag makes it really great to organize everything and I used to organize things when I’m on my trip at my destination as well💕😊
I used to over pack a lot. Now I’ve downsized to a 28 liter backpack and a small crossbody bag as a personal bag. And that made my travel life so much easier. No more check in luggage for me😊
I have only seen two of your videos and wow. I am so IMPRESSED. I don't plane travel a lot anymore, but I am going to order a lot of things from this. I travel by car often. And have 2 flights coming up. So this is your personal item AND u get to have a carry on roll,-a-board on most planes. I need to watch more on your channel. Such fantastic tips!!!!!!
Well, I’m so so happy you are getting some great hacks from my videos for your next travel adventure! I tend to pack a lot of stuff in my suitcases and my carry-ons. so yes, I’m able to live out of my personal item bag and I could probably travel with that for just a week. I wouldn’t necessarily have a lot of clothing options but a lot of that doesn’t bother me having the carry-on suitcase that goes in the overhead bin is just kind of clothing and sometimes things like curling irons that I will bring occasionally. I’m looking forward to getting your feedback on my other videos.! I also do videos that are not about travel but about some other things like prepping for disasters and car camping so love to get your feedback on those as well! 🙏💕😊
A very well designed bag! Those 4 zippers are a great idea, inevitable I will want access to things during the flight. Thanks for all your great tips! 👍👍👍
Eunice, you are an amazing woman. I just ordered this bag through your link. We are going on a long cruise and then a month of traveling in New Zealand and this is a perfect bag. I love your channel. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much, Carolyn! Truly appreciate your support and feedback! I hope this bag serves you as well as it serves me on your trip To New Zealand! Bon Voyage! 🛳️
Hi Eunice! I just discovered your channel and am really enjoying your tips. So excited about the Bento Bag that I just ordered. I am determined to use a carry on and personal bag for our trip overseas in January. Your tips, including this bag will help me accomplish this. Thank you!
You are so welcome and I’m so happy you found my channel as well! I really love the Bento bag. it keeps me really organized and no matter how much I step into it. It always fits underneath the seat in front of me. I hope you have a wonderful trip.💕😊
Super impressed how light weight this bag is empty (1.25kg), allowing it to be useful for airlines in the Asia Pacific ((Australia) and European regions that have weight constraints for carry on.
Thank you so much! Being organized makes me feel a lot better while flying or taking any sort of trip in this bag is wonderful because I even use it during my trip to keep me organized💕😊
Hello Eunice, thank you so much for this video. I am going to three Scandinavian countries in November and Italy in December. I ordered the bento bag and got some items from your Amazon store for travel. Your packing tips will certainly help me. I have been binge watching your videos and find them very informative with a lot of great ideas 😊
Thank you so much! I am so happy you’re getting some great hacks and I think you’re going to love that bag! Truly appreciate you supporting my channel! I hope you have a wonderful time in Scandinavia and Italy! That sounds like a Heavenly trip!💕😊🙏
Just a FYI, Scandinavia is only three countries Scandinavia - Norway, Denmark, Sweden Nordic countries - Scandinavia + Finland, Iceland and the autonomous regions of Åland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. I know some info in English are blurring the lines but some local people don't like it if you do that.
I love my Nomad Bento Bag V3 so much that I have also purchased the backpack, tote and today a couple of slings. I don’t know how I will ever travel without the Bento Bag again. I’ve considered trying something else because I generally prefer an unstructured slouchy bag, but the accessibility, convenience, aesthetics and quality keep me from taking a chance on another bag for my Personal Item carry on. Even my hard to impress and very frugal husband likes my Bento. BTW, the Ikigai Backpack is perfect for moving around the house every day as a portable desk. It’s sturdy, compact enough to not be in the way, and has all the nooks and crannies you would expect from Nomad Lane. It holds my iPad, laptop, Kindle, glasses, pens, cords, notebooks and documents. Everything I could possibly need during the day. The backpack and the Origami Tote are now my road warriors when traveling to my parent’s for an overnight trip when I assist them with their own household “paperwork.” I love Nomad Lane. It feels so good when you have exactly what you need to make traveling easier.
I am so happy you are enjoying and getting great use of your Nomad Lane items! They are definitely quality made and worth the money! Thanks for sharing!😊💕
Oooh I'm excited for this video, I have the original Nomad Lane Bento Bag from the kickstarter (I think it was kickstarter) years ago. I like it okay, as a personal item, but new version 4 looks way better, plus the zippers are updated (I feel like I'm always hurting my hands on the original zippers, they have very sharp edges) I hated it at first, because I can't fit toiletries/makeup/shoes AND clothes, but as the additional personal item bag, it's wonderful.
Thanks for presenting as these are my hacks maybe they can help you. Indeed some do. Those of us with larger bodies, clothes, longer legs much of this won’t work. Thank you. Great explanations.
I love the socks hack. I would first put my shoes in the tubular newspaper plastic bags I get, but I will try this on my next trip. One question - where do you put your handbag before boarding? In your suitcase? As usual, you have the best and most clever and original methods!
Thank you so much ! That is a great question and I’m doing another video on that because I’m actually wearing a belt bag! I’m also going to do a whole video on how I put all these outfits together to get me through a week!
Yay! I’m always so happy when someone lets me know that they learned something for their travel adventures! I hope to always try to be innovating and or finding the newest greatest gadgets for you 💕😊
Love this, Eunice! Can you measure the bag when fully packed and tell us the dimensions? We're trying to fly more of the discount airlines with just the underseat bag allowed, and they are VERY picky about size. Thanks!
Since this bag is pretty structured, it doesn’t go much beyond the 17 L by 8 W by 10 H. It is a 24 L bag and so you might put a few extra things in the pockets that pushed out a little bit not much and if your airline is really picky you’re just going to stay within that measurement.😊
That 8 inch measurement is the one that may poof out, but only a little bit, not all the way to 9 inches. The 17" and the 10" part never changes. This video is so inspirational. I have been wanting this bag since its Kickstarter days, and finally bit the bullet and got it last week. Love the real leather straps, and the exterior waterbottle holder. THese are great improvements. Curently I am using my Longchamps expandable tote/w/crossbody strap OR, the Tortuga Setout Divide backpack and the Nomad Lane Bento Bag as personal item. My big travel tip is that I take a set of the Samsonite collapsible wheels, and attach the bags to it. The gate agent told me that if they are not attached, they would not be allowed as a third item. So I put them inside the Longchamps bag, or keep the wheels attached until I get to my seat. Now I can have my cake and eat it too. What is old is new again, eh? Eunice, I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos, we pack so much alike, yet you always seem to have a little something new and interesting to think about. Happy travels, and we will see you on the next video. Best always~ eclair
@@TheoryofSimple I edited my comment too, but left the bit about the poofing 8 inches and my tip about the wheels. Another great thing I got from your video is to pack the items in vertical fashion so that when at the seat, items can be easily pulled from the bag. That is a big deal. Again, many thanks for all your efforts and super packing tips.
I’ve got this exact bag and I have not regretted this purchase at all. This easily fits under the seat on major airlines and including regional jets such as an Embraer 175. Some European airlines and a couple in the States may have restrictions on this (I fly United, Americans and Virgin). As Eunice shared, this bag fits easily over the trolley handle and that it can be zipped to be used as an additional pocket when not using it over a trolley handle is genius. The compartments on the sides are well thought out. I love that it opens up like a small suitcase, and accessibility is a breeze when pulling it out from under a seat and reaching for a snack, laptop, or something else. The attention to the design, fabric, and structure of the bag is evident. Overall, it’s the best major travel item I’ve purchased (next to my Solgaard closet carryon suitcase which is a decent match to my burgundy Nomad Lane Bento :). Tip: watch for Black Friday sales on this bag.
I love that Nomad Lane Personal Bag! I need that bag! I've wanted one since the first version. The problem is convincing the hubby that I need another bag! Yikes! I must figure out a way. I love all of your tips & tricks & of course gadgets & bags.
Thanks from one hapa 60+ girl to another! Hate seeing those ditzy young gals recommending stuff they don't even know how to use. You're much more interesting and knowledgable! Can you please do a video about in flight entertainment, particularly how to prepare and use your electronics? I am talking from a dummy level not even knowing how to use blue tooth or putting entertainment on laptop (not ipad)? I would greatly appreciate this!
This is a great video! Love this bag very cool to see how you pack things in all the different pockets! I love the idea of putting your folding shoes and other shoes inside a sock! I have those little packable shoes, but it has its own pouch. That’s a great idea.🎉🎉🎉🎉 question… I think I missed the dimensions of the bag itself. Thank you.🎉🎉🎉😊
@@kittykathy9532 yes! The nomad Lane folks have traveled a lot and have thought about how do you combine the size of the bag fitting under the seat with great organization, and ability to carry what you need. 💕😊
A great set up. The bag doesn't look big but really fits alot. Though carry on bag weight limit around 7kg so i couldn't possibly bring alot not counting the bag weight itself. Would love to know where you buy that pouch for the harddrive.
Eunice you are such a classy, pulled together lady. Thank you for such great tips. We go to Vegas in 16 days & I can't wait to utilize some of your suggestions! :)
Thank you so much and I’m so glad you were getting some great hacks for my videos and I hope you have a wonderful trip to Vegas! I hope you win some $$$ and see some great shows!
I LOVE how easily it slips over the handle. The one I have now is so small/narrow it takes way too long to just get it over the handle when getting off the plane.
Lol! Thank you so much, Noemi! I didn’t actually Planet that way, but it did work out that a lot of the stuff that I bought for the trip matched my bag! 😜💕
@@jenib4057 agree! And I’ve actually talked to them about this. They did come up with a backpack, but it’s just way too small. I’m trying out a new backpack right now that I think may be something that would be perfect as a personal item and has similar features.
Thank you so much welcome to theory of simple! Very excited to have you as part of this community and I’m looking forward to your feedback on my other videos. Also, I’ll be giving your feedback on the backpack straps to nomad Lane so thank you for giving me the feedback.💕😊
I have been searching for a personal item with spinner wheels, and this is the best one that I can find. The rest have wheels but they’re not spinners so it’s harder to move through the airport. One thing about this bag is that you don’t have to pack as much stuff as I do in this and make it that heavy. I tend to be a bit of a prepared for anything packer, but you can take a lot of this stuff out and just pack the minimum that you would need and make it a lot lighter.💕😊
thank you, ! Nomad Lane has been following and they are looking at the responses in several people have made that comment as well for the backpack straps. 💕😊 Thank you so much for giving us your feedback.🙏
In my opinion, I am not a fan for three reasons. Number one when the tray is down and that pocket is hanging down at tends to hit you in the legs and number two, If you do end up with some spill, it’s a lot harder to clean up because it’s all over the cloth and now the cloth is wet rather than just wiping something off of the tray table. And number three it’s just another thing to take up space in your personal item that’s not multipurpose to use during your travel adventures. Of course I’ve never owned one so it would be good to get a pay of people who actually own them and see what they think so. Hopefully the community will answer.😊
Hi Eunice! This is a great little bag, I only wish it had wheels. Due to a medical condition, it is hard for me to carry anything on my shoulders. I have an underseat pro bag which has served me very well. Where did you get the little bag you put your multitools in? I need one of those! Also, do you have any problems bringing your little can opener in your carry on/personal item? Thanks.
Hi Carol, yes, if you have a medical condition where you could not carry your bag, it’s always better to carry a small roller he could fit under the seat in front of you😊 I think there’s a link for that little bag in the video description if not, let me know and I’ll stick it in there and regarding the can opener, I’ve never had a problem with it😊💕
It’s so funny that you mention this because I’ve been thinking about doing a video on things that I thought would work and didn’t or worst things that I bought! Thank you for reminding me to do that! 💕😊
Samantha Brown released a carry all bag in her Hsn travel collection. It is very similar and much cheaper. I haven’t seen any reviews. Thanks for sharing!
I bought v3 of the Bento Bag. I like its organization but I’m still struggling with minimalist packing so it’s not yet as practical as I’d hoped. I’m a work in progress. It goes well as a personal item stateside but is too big to meet international standards. It may go on a couple of stateside trips this year but not overseas.
@@TheoryofSimple it was the sizer issue. Clearly it worked as my carryon, but not as a personal item. I didn’t try under the seat since there was room overhead.
@@kitkat5339 thank you so much for letting us know about that and I have had a few viewers make the same comment regarding personal item for carriers overseas. I think it’s starting to spill over here into the United States.. I’m probably gonna have to do on some smaller personal item pieces.💕😊
Looks like a great bag foe domestic flight, where weight isn't an issue. All of my upcoming international flights have strict weight restrictions. For one flight, the TOTAL allowed weight of everything you carry on is 17#! No can do if you're a photographer!
@@lindakrugman6534 yeah if you’re photographer, you are really in a bind when it comes to weight limits! And of course I would never check my camera equipment so you’re going to have to really pair down! Honestly for me now I don’t care at all when I travel and I just use my phone and a GoPro. That helps keep my weight limit down and allow me to pack a few more things that are essential for me to travel, but if you are a professional photographer, I wish you the best of luck.😊
I enjoy your videos. I never check a bag. Of course, l take a capsule wardrobe! My next trip is three (3) months, spring/summer Italy and France. And nope, no checked bag!!
Thank you! A capsule wardrobe is the key! I also make sure that the fabrics I’m bringing are things that I can wash easily and that will dry quickly! I hope you have a wonderful three months in France and Italy! 💕😊🙏
Hi Eunice, you make it look so simple… tho theres a lot of components… i got a lot of packing tricks from you. especially putting things in pouches….easy access. thank you. the only thing that didnt work for me is the teeth whitener. from your other video
@@phildendron4702 thank you! I think the teeth whitener thing is something that varies from person to person depending on how porous your teeth are and if you tend to eat or drink things like coffee, red wine, dark berries m, beats, etc. For me it works, but I do have to keep up with it.😊
Thanks so much for this review. Being able to have top access in a carry-on, plus have everything well organized. I have found my new personal bag! Also you mentioned hanging your i-pad, would you share a link with what you use, thanks.
Thank you so much I’m so so glad you got some great hacks in bag from this video! Regarding the hanging iPad thing, I actually had to modify something so that it would work on most airplanes so I’ll do a video on that shortly💕😊
You should get one because even if you just travel in a car, this is a great band. Had to keep you organize and get enough for you to get through week.! 💕😊
@@janiceross5134 the clip for the Jacot has a special carabiner clip. That’s easier to take on and off so I do think the dog collar is a great budget idea though, so thank you so much for sharing.💕😊
Sorry my bad English, ( I use Google) - my question is : the weight for hand luggage is limited to 6-8 kg, it is not weighed and you can take 23 kg into the cabin?
Thank you for taking the time to ask this question. Most airlines do not weigh a personal item bag. There are just a couple of airlines in the world that do that and you’ll have to just find out if you’re flying on those airlines and see what their weight restriction is. This bag weighed 10.43 kg or 23 pounds but again I pack heavy so you’ll just have to change out what you find necessary if you have a weight restriction for your bag.💕😊🙏
This looks easily double the size of the little Ryanair -compliant CabinMax backpacks I have used a few times for a week-long trip, but I still pick up ideas from watching you.
Everything we need very often or immediately on a plane should be in a pocket of a carry on bag !! I always do !! My wipes ,snacks ,ear plugs & sweet/ sour Japanese plum candies 🍬 ( these & ear plugs together work superbly well to prevent / stop ear aches !! With my hands folding ears to close the ear holes tighter !! ) in there.💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
@@UnivBelt I believe that’s a personal choice. I personally do not wear compression socks mainly because they’re tight in the upper part of my calf and make my calf ache.
great video i do not fly that much but i never want to check a bag again, and the Bento bag looks great but too rich for my blood, is there a bag that you would recommend that is less than the Bento ??
Yes, actually and I’m getting ready to do a video on that! I know the bitter bag can be pricey, but it is a wonderful bag, but I did find another one that is not shaped like this, and is really good for people who travel in Europe, where they have much tighter restrictions on personal carry-on and I’ll be putting a video on that together soon💕😊
Every time I go to pack that Bento bag I run out of room and I end up repacking into my Away everywhere bag. I’ve had my Bento for 3 years and still haven’t used it on a trip. But I’m watching how you packed it. If it doesn’t work this year I will sell it.
I hope you’re able to use it at some point because it is a really good bag. Of course everyone packs differently so you do have to do what’s best for you😊
I noticed the small amount of space designated for clothing, a deal breaker for me. I won’t be traveling with any electronics except my mobile phone, so the numerous compartments are wasted on someone like me. Other than that, it looks like a decent traveler.
So I travel quite a bit and I have noticed in my life that many times you get what you pay for and I have paid for cheaper bags and they don’t last or zippers break. I have spoken with the owners of the company many times and have reviewed how they selected materials and structure for this bag and feel very confident that this is a bag that will last for a long time.😊
I LOVE my Nomad Lane! So does my husband. For short trips I can pack my CPAP plus everything else. I would love version 4.0 but I am getting the feeling there is a backpack in the horizon, for me would be the Holy Grail. Nomad Lane has changed my thought process from what bag can I find to fit my items to what item can I use that fit into my Nomad Lane
They have thought carefully about organization and I have given them feedback as well. They are always improving their products and looking for new and innovative ways for us to travel in style and stay organized! 💕😊
@@TheoryofSimple There are other products that are great and less weight but I have found them inferior and actually had to be replaced during my trips, I want. Connivence, durability and environmentally friendly.
@@dianashelton1371 thank you so much and yes for me I want to be able to get to my snacks and not being bent over digging to the bottom of a bag! And of course I have some other little things that I keep with me but they’re in my waist pack or in the pockets of my vest and I’ve done a video on that to show what I carry in those items💕😊
Thanks Eunice for another great video! Question...I usually have to walk a distance at different airports, does this bag get heavy on your shoulder or do you always have your other carry-on to trolly the Bento Bag?
I almost always have a roller bag that I put in Bento Bag on when I travel so it’s easy for me to get around the airport. I would really only carry on my shoulder if they took my roller bag and checked it. 😊💕
I would like to do a video request please? I love your videos especially the EDC/first aid/ bug out bag videos! Can you perhaps do a video with primary Daiso finds? You just find the best things from that store!!! ❤
Oh my gosh, thank you so much! Definitely in need of a trim and probably to touch up the highlights to cover the gray but thank you so much for your wonderful compliment🙏💕😊
The weight of this bag fully packed was 23 pounds which I showed in the video. The weight of my roller carry-on is about the same. of course everything depends on what you pack in it and how tightly you pack it I tend to pack a lot of things cause I’m a maximalist trying to fit into a minimalist footprint😄
There are only a couple of carriers in the world that actually weigh your personal item bag. I think the bigger issue is if you can lift it and carry it around.. you just have to make sure the weight of your bag is something you can accommodate. 😊
Question how heavy is the bento bag when full? After I check my main bag carrying something heavy running to a gate can be a pain. Appreciate all your videos. So much to learn😂
So my particular bag was 23 pounds. But as you can see, I pack a lot into it if it’s something that’s too heavy for you you’ll have to figure out what you can carry. My computer and iPad take up probably about 6 pounds of the weight..
If you go to the Nomad Lane site, it will give you the dimensions and the weight of the bag. The bag weighs 1.23 kg are 2.75 pounds empty. The dimensions are 17 L by 8W by 10 H and holds 24 L of items. How much the bag weighs when you pack it all depends on what you are packing😊
This newer Nomad Lane Bento Bag has been expertly designed to fit under the seat (aisle, center or window) and have easy access to everything you need without having to dig around through everything you don’t need on the plane.

You are super clean and organized! I love the idea of putting the produce bag up your sleeve💕😊
@@morpheuszzz662 oh! That is a great hack, and I have not seen those so I’m gonna look for those! 💕😊 Thank you so much for sharing.💕
A doggie poop bag would work equally well. I always have gloves in my first aid kit but this is a brilliant idea.

@@JohnPolchin-bj4sn thank you so much! David is doing much better, and is finally done with cardiac rehab! 🙏💕😊 thank you so much for asking🩷
Yay! Thanks for sharing your experience with us! I love this bag too! 💕😊
we love to hear that!
I travel a lot, so I noticed some of the cheaper bag start to break down or I’m even had one tear getting caught under something in the seat so I tend to like something a little more structured and that I know we’ll always fit under the seat and hold up.😊💕
@@cindyadams5055 where do I get the$30 bag smart? I'm looking for something cheaper and just as functional
Thank you so much and you are so welcome! Quite unusual, but amazing packing ideas, so stay tuned💕😊
I have a version three of this bag. I wanted to use it when we flew to visit family on British Airlines, but it was too big to be a personal item. I love the revamp of the V4 though, with that water bottle pocket. Now it just needs backpack straps!
I love the feedback! 💕 I’ll definitely pass the backpack straps suggestion on to Nomad Lane! 😊
@@TheoryofSimple Thanks, Eunice!
I definitely agree. The add on back pack straps could be an optional accessory. If they added the backpack straps, what else could you possible want?
Ooops, missed the beginning, I thought it was premiering tomorrow. Will have to watch again after it goes off live. This looks like a better design than my bento bag, which was the prototype - I got mine when the company was doing their original Kickstarter. It looks like they've made some improvements. I like the top and hat matching the bag!! You have such a great sense of style, Eunice! I agree with you about making the personal item bag heavier to make it easier to lift up the roller bag. As long as I can carry it if they make me gate check my roller bag, which they did on my last trip.
They definitely made some improvements in the V4 version. 😊 thank you so much for the compliment, Jen! 💕😊

@@Z4raggs that is awesome! 💕😊

Super impressed how light weight this bag is empty (1.25kg), allowing it to be useful for airlines in the Asia Pacific ((Australia) and European regions that have weight constraints for carry on.

Just a FYI, Scandinavia is only three countries
Scandinavia - Norway, Denmark, Sweden
Nordic countries - Scandinavia + Finland, Iceland and the autonomous regions of Åland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
I know some info in English are blurring the lines but some local people don't like it if you do that.
@@jessicaandersson4313 interesting… not sure how that relates to this video. But thanks for the info.😊
@@TheoryofSimple Op mentioned they were going to three Scandianvian countries thereby indicating there are more than three which is incorrect.
I like it okay, as a personal item, but new version 4 looks way better, plus the zippers are updated (I feel like I'm always hurting my hands on the original zippers, they have very sharp edges)
I hated it at first, because I can't fit toiletries/makeup/shoes AND clothes, but as the additional personal item bag, it's wonderful.
Thank you for sharing your experience! I love the new v4 version! 💕😊

@@eclairtreo you are right and thank you for catching that! I edited it, so it’s correct!
@@eclairtreo thank you so much. I truly appreciate that you can recognize the details.💕😊
Ok, I really like this carry on bag. You’re like a magician packing.
Lol! Thank you so much and that’s why they call me Mary Poppins😜🤣💕

Now this seems like a very smart design! Thanks for sharing Eunice

😊💕I have found my kitchen in a bag to be very handy! 😊
Wonderful comprehensive analysis. Thank you so much.

A great set up. The bag doesn't look big but really fits alot. Though carry on bag weight limit around 7kg so i couldn't possibly bring alot not counting the bag weight itself. Would love to know where you buy that pouch for the harddrive.

I LOVE how easily it slips over the handle. The one I have now is so small/narrow it takes way too long to just get it over the handle when getting off the plane.
Agree 100% 💕😊
Beautiful color 😍😍😍 Love your matching top.❤
Lol! Thank you so much, Noemi! I didn’t actually Planet that way, but it did work out that a lot of the stuff that I bought for the trip matched my bag! 😜💕

Great video review!! Like others have mentioned, the only thing missing that has kept me from purchasing, is backpack straps.
@@jenib4057 agree! And I’ve actually talked to them about this. They did come up with a backpack, but it’s just way too small. I’m trying out a new backpack right now that I think may be something that would be perfect as a personal item and has similar features.
Thanks for the shoes inside the socks hack were good ones.

I love it. I only travel with a personal item...
Could you suggest a personal with spinner wheels...
I couldn't carry 23 pounds .😊
I have been searching for a personal item with spinner wheels, and this is the best one that I can find. The rest have wheels but they’re not spinners so it’s harder to move through the airport. One thing about this bag is that you don’t have to pack as much stuff as I do in this and make it that heavy. I tend to be a bit of a prepared for anything packer, but you can take a lot of this stuff out and just pack the minimum that you would need and make it a lot lighter.💕😊
Total pleasure seeing how alls packed. Thx for sharing
Thank you so much! I’m so happy you appreciate me showing how I packed this wonderful bag💕😊
I love it! I wish it converted to a backup. If it did, it would be perfect!
thank you, ! Nomad Lane has been following and they are looking at the responses in several people have made that comment as well for the backpack straps. 💕😊 Thank you so much for giving us your feedback.🙏
What are thoughts on the over the tray table foot slings? Im approaching my first 10 hr flight and it seems cool but worth it?
In my opinion, I am not a fan for three reasons. Number one when the tray is down and that pocket is hanging down at tends to hit you in the legs and number two, If you do end up with some spill, it’s a lot harder to clean up because it’s all over the cloth and now the cloth is wet rather than just wiping something off of the tray table. And number three it’s just another thing to take up space in your personal item that’s not multipurpose to use during your travel adventures. Of course I’ve never owned one so it would be good to get a pay of people who actually own them and see what they think so. Hopefully the community will answer.😊
Great tips, as always! Can you share a link to the kitchen in a bag video? I couldn't find it in your playlists. Thanks!
Hey there! I put a link to my kitchen in a bag video in the video description. UA-cam no longer allows us to link in comments.

@@AKgrowngal thanks and looking forward to your feedback on that video! 💕🙏
Thanks.
Hi Carol, yes, if you have a medical condition where you could not carry your bag, it’s always better to carry a small roller he could fit under the seat in front of you😊 I think there’s a link for that little bag in the video description if not, let me know and I’ll stick it in there and regarding the can opener, I’ve never had a problem with it😊💕
@TheoryofSimple thanks so much! Yes, I see a link :)

I just bought this V4 bag and love it ❤
Yay! I’m so glad you love this bag as much as I do! From what I hear, the V4 is definitely an upgrade from the V3! 💕😊
Nice bag. Do you have a video of items purchased that you thought would work well but didn’t? That would be interesting….😉
@@brewatch thanks for letting me know. I’ll have to take a look at that.😊
I bought v3 of the Bento Bag. I like its organization but I’m still struggling with minimalist packing so it’s not yet as practical as I’d hoped. I’m a work in progress. It goes well as a personal item stateside but is too big to meet international standards. It may go on a couple of stateside trips this year but not overseas.
Have you found that it doesn’t fit under the seats when you go international or that they stop you from taking it on board because of the sizer?

the only thing that didnt work for me is the teeth whitener. from your other video
@@phildendron4702 thank you! I think the teeth whitener thing is something that varies from person to person depending on how porous your teeth are and if you tend to eat or drink things like coffee, red wine, dark berries m, beats, etc. For me it works, but I do have to keep up with it.😊
Hi- where did you buy the jewelry accessory sleeve. I would like to have that for my summer trip to Europe. TY.

@@TheoryofSimple Thank you very much for your answer, I'll fly with Air Cairo.
Where is the water bottle from please & Thank you.
Do you mean the black one or the blue collapsible one?
This looks easily double the size of the little Ryanair -compliant CabinMax backpacks I have used a few times for a week-long trip, but I still pick up ideas from watching you.
Well, the luggage is designed to fit under the seat in front of you however, over packing it makes it hard to get into the sizer. 😊
I like the little day bag you packed. What brand is it and where can you get it?
@@jenniferbruder921 thank you so much and everything should be linked in the video description😊

With my hands folding ears to close the ear holes tighter !! ) in there.💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞

Question: For international flights, like at the least 15 to 23 hours, would compression socks be helpful/beneficial?
Love that pouch you had your vitamins. In. Do you have a link for it?

@@jadedgirl37 sorry, took me having to go back and watch the video again. That is older and I don’t have a link to that item.
Other than that, it looks like a decent traveler.
i love your bsg😊. it's essential. hope all can have it coz its a bit expensive

Is there a weight limited for these bags???
There are only a couple of carriers in the world that actually weigh your personal item bag. I think the bigger issue is if you can lift it and carry it around.. you just have to make sure the weight of your bag is something you can accommodate. 😊
Just ordered the I pad mini because I’m 78 and don’t need to carry a regular I pad and/or laptop on my trip.

So my particular bag was 23 pounds. But as you can see, I pack a lot into it if it’s something that’s too heavy for you you’ll have to figure out what you can carry. My computer and iPad take up probably about 6 pounds of the weight..
