After listening to your two sermons on loving God with all your heart, as a Christian woman for over 53 years now, I regret to say that you have given a legalistic sermon. I don't mean disrespect to you. But you are telling people to do everything themselves and God will reward them. This is what we call New testament legalism. You need to study testaments and stories of witnesses from ages past such as Jeanne Guyon or Michael de. Molenos. They understood that when you are a Christian Jesus lives within you. You must seek him where he is which is within you. You do not do a lot of outward exercises in order to find God and come to love him. You must continually seek him within your heart and allow him to remove the self-love that exists in everyone's heart. You also did not read John 17:3. Eternal life is a term that equals the word salvation in the bible. Therefore true salvation for all Christians requires them to come to know God intimately. The word no in the Bible always means intimately as in marriage relationships. This will require years of allowing God to remove all the idols that we have built up in our lives, all the self-love, all the self will. These things don't happen overnight or because you give a sermon or two on them. The other thing you missed is that God said "draw near to me and I will draw near to you". We also have to come to a place where we consider ourselves absolutely nothing without him. We are useless to God without him living in us and doing the works through us. As we try to draw near to him within us he will draw near to us like a magnet until eventually we are connected in Union. This is the true prayer Jesus prayed. It is not impossible to be in Union with God. If it were Jesus would not pray that we would be as he was. Christians need to study their Bibles much more slowly and carefully. Read the testimonies of the faithful people who suffered and died for him. Read the testimonies of persecuted Christians from voice of the martyrs organization. Go to persecution.com and learn what it really means to love Jesus Christ and be a follower of him. There's nothing funny about that. Sincerely
