Live with no fear of loosing - this is often god type of model: "gives everything, asks nothing in return". We can have more power by focusing on core ability of it -> to give. When we fear loosing we can't give much. If there is a god who gave rise to universe, he himself must have been accepted to lay over nothingness.

In the Greek it's referred to as something like an "eon" which is an unknown quantity of time, perhaps one thousand years. Hell is a quarantine for fallen angels & demonic entities, not originally intended for humans but "enlarged" to contain them since the "un-worded conscience" can become an "evil spirit". Revelations describes many humans getting out. There's more, but no space left.

I spoke with some Buddhists today here. They said they didn't believe Buddah was god. But everywhere you go you see images and people praying before these statues. They said that they believed he was a prophet or a great teacher but not God. Nirvana is nothingness. Not existing anymore according to what they believed. It's interesting to hear what these people have to say.
Exactly why I don't believe in any religion. I don't see any more evidence for God than for Brahman or Ahura Mazda or Tepeu and Gucumatz or Eru Iluvatar. This prevents me from picking and choosing, and since I can't believe in all of them, I believe in none of them, and try to walk the blade of Occam's razor, explaining things without invoking gremlins or phenomena with no predictive power; hence why I hold fast to science.

Among many gods, how do you know which one is the best or all of these gods are good? But these gods are different and have different way of worship.
I'm an atheist, but if there is a God, I doubt he'd be so petty as to condemn anyone for calling him the wrong name or resting on the wrong sabbath day. Good to know there are still theists that understand this concept.

There are two problems with your assertion:
1) That the Universe Can't build itself; everything that we see, from atoms to stars, cells to complex life forms, start off simple and evolve to become more complex. Modern understandings of physics mean that there is no need to invoke a magical being to explain the existence of the Universe.
This is why you should only follow Cthulhu. He doesn't require worship or prayer, or sacrifice or anything else. Only that when the stars are right you go crazy and die.
the reason why the Soviet Union fell was that they had no religion to use to put the will of the people on the side of the rulers. What people really need to do, instead of converting to any religion, is just to get saved. They need to ask Jesus to forgive them of their sins & to come into their heart. No religion involved, just salvation.

Anything man has accomplished has been simply to understand our surrounding. That includes science, culture, arithmetic and religion. These have all been ways to understand the world and to solidify world views and beliefs or express ones self. This was not all and for us, we are simply a byproduct of the universe which is amazing because we developed this brain that is ably to get the just of that concept. Nothing would be 'good' or 'evil' if we were not here to label it that. Life=intangible.

thanks, I didn't actually know, but it makes sense. In some points, buddhism is more of a philosophy than an actual religion.
@CapQuacer Religion comes from Latin, re to do again; ligio to tie up or bind. It was one of the symbols of Rome: an axe with many handles tied around the original handle to strengthen it. The pattern of history shows that any belief system is used by politics to get people to cooperate with the leaders. So Rome banned any religion that wouldn't do that and when followers of Jesus became popular they were religiated into a version of the state religion of Vesta; Vestal virgins became nuns.

I am not in the business of finding reasons to exclude beliefs, I am in the business of finding out what beliefs I can include in my description of reality. I am not trying to find reasons to defeat you, but to establish the truth behind your beliefs. If you wish to convince me that your beliefs are true you are free to use any claim you wish. Biblical, science, anything. Just be willing to consider my objections, possible agree if I make a good case, I will repay you in kind.

The Quran is full of proofs but atheists whole heartedly reject them no matter how many, no matter how big, or small. Some examples include: Scientific miracles, prophecy, numerology (which shows multiple signs, as well God's promise to protect the integrity of the text). There are hundreds if not thousands of books and websites on the subjects which I have mentioned, but that's is not what you are looking for. You are looking for an excuse not to believe, not something which points towards God.

Everyone is in agreement that the universe had a beginning. Many years ago before Hubble and modern telescopes people use to think the universe may be static and unchanging.
