My problem with movies like this is that they never point out the failure of the parent/grandparent trying to teach the lesson. If your kids and grandkids turned into spoiled, entitled assholes that is mostly your fault. You raised them in the lap of luxury and shielded them from consequences their whole lives, so how did you think they'd turn out?

I think they leave that up to the viewer's interpretation. The grandfather clearly fucked up so much that none of his actual family cares about his death and only about his money. *That was honestly such a smart and very calculated Grandfather, even after his passing, he maneuvered and influenced the life of his grandson, had arranged what move should be played next in the right correct order, carefully left behind puzzle pieces to be assembled to finally uncover the greater picture together with a very deep and moving meaning of it, into the brain of his grandson, always had future arranged and preserved steps ahead, just like playing a chess game where each pawns were moved and used accurately to slowly but surely enlighten his mind for the better of his own good.. Even the fact that he wasn't physically there to play these moves, he made sure that each one of em would fit in perfectly, each one after thee other, to then having everything fall into the perfect spot and order, to change the very mentality, life decisions and behaviors of his grandson, slowly changing him into the person whom he'd always wished him to be, which in thee end he eventually managed to make this a reality with success. Hence, everything was very strategically and brilliantly planned, each move was for a cause, nothing went to waste or to failure, everything was just spot on.. Plus not to mention that the grandfather knew it very well who had their eyes only on his wealth, in contrast to who would be the right one to entrust it all and who wouldn't be a greedy shark in such a vast ocean.. But that one person whom his heart chose, needed some guidance, needed to be taught some life lessons and stuffs first, to make sure that his legacy would still continue, stay alive and thrive and to be proud that it would be his own very blood that would keep this flame burning, with the same passion and drive that he always had..* 😇🤗

Is it surprising that journalists trashed this movie because of the christian themes/ undertones AND because it is produced by Fox Family Films (which panders to the Republican americans). Though the recap doesnt show that part, this movie is rife with chrsitian teachings (humility, sacrifice, spirituality etc). This has 33% Rotten tomatoes score. SMH. One reviewer even said _"The Ultimate Gift is kind of like a feel-good Saw for churchgoers, minus the sadistic games of death."_ Imagine your life being so miserable and pathetic that Christianity triggers you so so much that it blinds you to the beauty of the movie. Thankfully, the audience score is 83%. Just shows how disconnected these journalists are from the general public.

Poor girl what a loser her dad is abandons them to Pursue college lol I had my first child at 16 and did the exact opposite. Dropped out of school and got a full time job immediately. Wasn’t planned either obviously but at that second I knew what I had to do the rest of my life and that’s work my ass off 70 hours a week all the while spending 10 hours a day with my daughter. I thought about finishing school and getting a good job but it ultimately wasn’t worth it at all I’d lose out and miss her entire childhood and she would of been raised by her grandparents. I would never allow myself to become another statistic. I grew up instantly in that moment

Usually only get tired after a while, then I can take a day to catch up on sleep if I needed it. then I’m good for a while again until I over work myself and need to get more sleep. I still get atleast a 6 hour sleep a night so really it takes quite a long time to get tired from it. Wake up at 7:30 8 spend the entire day with my daughter then head to work at 5. Like if your talking in terms of a life outside of your family and job I have none. I don’t spend my time hanging out with friends I have all my best buds at home. She doesn’t mind if I take my days off because when people died at my work during covid I covered all of their shifts so she didn’t have to rush to hire somebody during a pandemic she appreciated that out of me. But I would literally do anything for my boss she put me on right after I had a child and kept me on for life. Experience through those moments are better lesson learners than sitting down and talking for a bit.
When someone is too far gone in their bad habits, a tough journey through the experience of getting rid of those bad habits is the only way to change a person.
Someone doesn't change after one therapy lesson.
But someone will change when their life becomes tougher.

@@RoKBottomStudios i agree with your sentiment, but the point remains the old man spent last months of his life putting this together rather than to spend time with his grandson. If your argument is he wouldn't do it if the money wasn't in it then the old man could've easily said: "if you do all this with me, you will inherit my fortune."
Since those experiences are transforming in and of themselves, then it would lead to him becoming the same good person we see in the movie on top of spending the time with his grandfather before he died.
