১৯৮৫ সালে বাদশা ফাহাদের আমলে বিনলাদিন গ্রপ এর ব্যবস্থাপনায় মক্কা ও মদিনা শরীফ সম্প্রসারণের উদ্যোগ নেয়া হয়। সেই সময়ে এই প্রকল্পের দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করেন মিশরের বিখ্যাত স্থপতি ডঃ মোঃ কামাল ইসমাইল। এ কাজ করতে গিয়ে তিনি লক্ষ্য করলেন কাবা শরীফের চত্তর প্রচন্ড রোদে অত্যন্ত গরম হয়ে থাকে। যার কারণে খালিপায়ে তাওয়াফ করা খুবই কষ্টকর হয়ে দাঁড়ায়।
In 1985, under the management of Binladin Group during the reign of King Fahd, an initiative was taken to expand Makkah and Madinah Sharif. At that time, the famous Egyptian architect Dr. Md. Kamal Ismail took charge of this project. While doing this work, he noticed that the square of Kaaba Sharif was very hot in the strong sun. Due to which it becomes very difficult to do Tawaf barefoot.
